NewSWversionscanbedownloadedwhileBTSisworking.Thesoftwarecanbeloaded
eitherlocally,withtheBTSSiteManagersoftware,orremotelyfromNetActTM.Sitevisits
areunnecessaryforroutineoperationandmaintenance(O&M)tasks.
Typically,localsoftwaredownloadisdoneonlywhentheNetActTMconnectionismissing,
forexample,duringthecommissioningprocess.Softwarecanbedownloadedasa
backgroundoperationwithoutinterruptingtheBTSoperation.Thenewsoftwarecanbe
activatedatanytime.Rebootisrequiredinordertoputthesoftwareintouse.
FlexiLiteBTSonlyusesdownloadablesoftware.Allsoftwarecanbedownloadedand
updatedfromNetActTM.Thisprocedureiscentralized,meaningthatseveralBTSscan
beupgradedwiththenewsoftwareeithersimultaneouslyoronebyone.
FlexiLiteBTSkeepsthecurrentandprevioussoftwarepackagesinitsflashmemory.
Eitherofthesesoftwareversionscanbeactivatedatanytime.Rebootisrequiredin
