Whats Happening at Vance

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Furever Friends -- A local animal rescue group, is seeking
volunteers to help with their current fundraiser.
Volunteers are needed on Saturdays (0900 - 1200, 1200
1700), Sundays (1400 1600) and Tuesdays and
Thursdays (1800 2000) through 8 Nov to help run the
concession stand at the Enid Soccer Fields. Volunteers
can sign up to help with as many shifts as their
schedules allow. For more information or to sign up,

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance -- The legal office is
looking for volunteers to become Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance (VITA) Representatives to assist Vance Airmen
this coming tax season. Those who volunteer should be
available to attend training. This training will be
conducted for new volunteers 13, 16, 23 and 27 Oct in
bldg. 200, rm. 117, from 0800 1600. Certification
training for new and returning volunteers will be
conducted 14 18 Dec and 11 15 Jan in bldg. 200, rm.
117, from 0800 1600. Volunteers will provide basic
income tax assistance to Team Vance members and
assist with electronic filing. If you would like to volunteer,
contact Mr. Long at 580-548-5637 or by email at
stevenlong1424@att.net no later than 9 Oct.
Waller Middle School Zombie Run -- Waller Middle School
is searching for volunteers to assist with the Zombie Run
31 Oct from 1230 to 1430. For more information, call

Dunk Tank Fundraiser During Oktoberfest -- 16 Oct -Know someone you want to dunk in a big vat of water?
Vote and get the chance to dunk them at the
Oktoberfest event 16 Oct! Voting is $1 per vote and you
vote as many times as you like. See Capt. Slikker (T-6
Rep), Maj. Merrill (T-38 Rep), Capt. Garrison (T-1 Rep) or
Maj. Aubert (transition rep) to vote. All proceeds go to
the 71st Student Morale Council.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in OKC -- 17 Oct,
0800 -- This event raises significant funds and
awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates
breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have
lost their battle with the disease. Join us in this fight by
making a donation today or joining our team "Vance

Light on Afterschool -- 22 Oct, 1630 1800 -- Each
October, 1 million Americans and thousands of
communities nationwide celebrate Lights On
Afterschool to shine a light on the afterschool programs
that keep kids safe, inspire them to learn and help
working families. This is a night for teen center families
to carve pumpkins, enjoy fall treats and create a few
crafts together at the Teen Center. We will also be doing
drawings for gift cards and other prizes.
Tops In Blue -- 26 Oct, 1830 -- Vance Air Force Base will
present the free high-energy, active duty Air Force
entertainment show, Tops In Blue, at the Enid Event
