Sheldon (Butch) Ginsberg, a Denver native and active com­

munity member, was diagnosed two years ago with a blood 
disorder  called  Myelodysplastic  Syndrome  (MDS).  During 
this time, Butch has had to undergo weekly/bi­weekly blood 
transfusions to replenish his red blood cell supply. His family 
estimates that, in this two year period, he has received over 
200 pints of blood. That number continues to climb as these 
blood transfusions have become Sheldon’s lifeline.

If  his  family  could  personally  thank  each  and  every  
individual  who    has  so  selflessly  donated,  they  would.  
Instead,  the  Ginsberg  family,  along  with  Rock  Bottom   
Restaurant  and  Brewery,  is  hosting  a  month­long  
replenishment drive in Sheldon’s honor.

 From now until April 30, 2010, schedule an appointment to donate blood. 
In Denver, you may donate at any Bonfils location (Group #7076), Appointments can 
be made by calling 303­363­2300. You can also donate at Children's Hospital, or St. 
Josephs (no group number needed). To find a list of blood banks outside the metro 
Denver area, go to www.aabb.org.  

 After you have donated (or attempted to donate) please email  your name, 
date of donation, location of donation, and mailing address to  
pint  jill.roblyer@comcast.net 
 You will receive a thank you note along with a coupon for a free “pint” of 
hand­crafted beer or root beer (or soft drink of choice) at any Rock Bottom 
Restaurant and Brewery. For locations, see their website at
