Entry Qualifications
2 GCE A/L Passes or Equivalent + a Credit Pass for English at GCE O/L, OR
GCE O/L with a Credit Pass for English + NetAssist Diploma in ICT or an equivalent recognized qualification in IT, OR
GCE O/L with a Credit Pass for English + 2 years of Work Experience + NetAssist Entry Exam
(Note Students should have IELTS General Format 5.5 in lieu of the Credit Pass for English at GCE O/L), AND
Age should be 16 or above.
Programme Structure
The HND is 18/24 months academic programme that can be completed either on weekdays or weekends, thereby giving the
students a valuable qualification that is equivalent to the first two years of a three year British B.Sc (Hon) Degree.
Modules are delivered on semester basis and learners should follow sixteen modules in four semesters during the program. Once
they have completed their third semester, they can select their desired path by selecting Networking field or software development
field in the fourth semester.
Assessment
The focus of HND is on practical knowledge; all units are evaluated through continuous assessments, industrial projects built into
the programme and tests for authentication of knowledge gained.
Assessments are evaluated by NetAssist (approved centres of Edexcel ) within the framework provided by Edexcel . It is done not
only to evaluate the academic skills of the candidates but also incorporates the necessary arrangements to evaluate the ability and
achievement of the technical skills areas of the students.
Edexcel has a strong quality assurance system which includes Quality Audit, External Verification and regular visits to the centers by
UK and regional staff. Our assessments are audited by external verifiers from UK and Edexcel quality control team continuously to
maintain standards.

Path for Top-up Degrees

Once the students complete the HND program, they can follow one more year of studies to top their qualification with a B.Sc (Hons)
Degree from UK Universities such as Middlesex and Cardiff Metropolitan University delivered in Sri Lanka. Those who wish to obtain
their degree overseas they could choose universities such as University of Glamorgan, University of Gloucestershire, University of
Huddersfield, University of Northampton, Oxford Brookes University, University of Plymouth, University of Salford and some more.

Award (HND)
At the end of successful completion of all units student will be awarded with BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing and
Systems Development from Edexcel UK with a Certificate and a transcript. The certificate title goes as HND in Computing and
Systems Development
Affordable Investment,
The course fee for the entire programme is affordable and student loan scheme could be arranged with leading banks. HND
weekdays programme can be completed in a period of 18 months time and weekend programme will be completed in a period of 24
months, which will enable the student to choose the top-up Degree and they could complete their HND plus Degree within two and
half years to three years time. Next intake for the HND program will be on September/October 2013.
Diploma in ICT
After GCE O- Levels, students could complete the Diploma in ICT program within six months duration and this Diploma leads to
International Qualifications. In this Diploma student would learn the basic IT which enables the students to select the Network of
Software Development path as their next level of education.
