S Sdn Bhd)

Executive Summary
An educational visit was held to Land Rig T-201 which at that point in time was situated
near BSP HQ. The main focus of this visit was for further education on land rig layout
and the equipment as well as the safety procedures of the drilling site. For this report,
only some equipment are explained and there were no pictures that we could take. A draft
of the rig layout have been made by our group, Alpha Synergy.

2.2.2 Open Storage Area

Chemicals were stored at this area with protection underneath just in case of leaking.
Other than that, a few mud tanks for used muds were placed at this open storage area. At
the side of this open storage area, the waste bin for waste segregation are placed. The
secondary muster point is also located at the entry.

2.2.3 Drill Pipe Rack

The pipes were stored on racks in the forms of doubles due to the space constriction. 4
drill pipes were used. Estimated length for 1 stand of the drill pipes are approximately 27
meter.

2.2.4 Mud Circulation System

Effective solids control can be attributed to the overall performance of all the components of the mud systems. Conditioning
the drilling fluid with the goal of dramatically lowering maintenance cost, avoiding excessive chemical treatment and
maintaining mud systems volume will decrease the chance of equipment failure, unnecessary high mud costs, hole and
drilling problems.

4 Reflection / Observation
It was a very interesting and informative visit that really helps better understanding of the
safety on rig as well as the equipment. Visualization of equipment could also be done
due to this visit. Other than that, being around the rig for half a day gave a sense of
feeling as to how it would be as a well engineer on site.
