(DOH) have purchased more
condoms for distribution de-
spite the relentless criticisms
of the Catholic Church on the
government’s campaign of
using condoms to prevent
sexually transmitted diseases.
Health Secretary Esperanza
Cabral said they have pur-
chased the condoms coming
from the $8 million the DOH
received from the Global Fund
for the country’s anti-HIV/
AIDS campaign.
Cabral said that they have
purchased 250,000 pieces of
condoms at P1.50 to P2 per
piece. She said they have spent
P375,000 to P500,000 for the
procurement of condoms com-
ing from the Global Fund.
