Purpose
The SSR RX HD R07 module represents a high sensitive receiver of pulse
signals equipped with a SSR signal digital pulse selector enabling to process
SSR replies. The receiver has excellent dynamic range and it is suitable for
any applications within MSS. The receiver is equipped with dual output of the
fiber and coaxial video.

Brief Technical Description

The R07 module consists of following main parts:

Overvoltage protection (OVP SSR ES0130A00230).

EMC filter (EMCF ES0100A00553).
Band pass filter (BPF SSR ES0130A00227).
SSR receiver (RXI2 ES0140A00465).

Over-voltage coaxial protection is designated to protection electrical

equipment against atmospheric surge and secondary effect lightning.
Band-pass filter is used for non-SSR signals elimination.
Receiver RXI2 processes SSR signal passes through surge suppressor and
band-pass filter. The input signal is directly amplified, filtered and
demodulated by logarithmic detector. Demodulated signal is amplified in a
differential driver and led to ten bits A/D converter. Digitalized signal is
entering into FPGA circuit. The Receiver RXI2 is controlled by the FPGA
circuit of Xilinx Spartan 3 series. A 32-bit embedded processor Microblaze is
recorded into FPGA.
The FPGA circuits performs following functions: processing of digitalized
signal, digital pulse selection functions, diagnostics of the receiver, data
communications, signaling operating states and conditions.
The processed signal is converted to fibre and coaxial video signal.
Three LED indicators serve as a signalization of operating states and
conditions.
The receiver firmware together with the communication software enables a
change of the receiver configuration parameters:
Threshold, i.e. the signal level on the receiver input, which is not,
processed more in the digital pulse selector.
Output configurations register (CfgOut). The register content determines
the status (off/on) of particular outputs of the optical and coaxial video,
changes the way of operating states indication, controls the status
(off/on) of the detector of A,C-mode and S-mode responses, controls
entering of diagnostic pulses and interrogation marks to the output video.

DIAG 1

DIAG 2

Description

Extended indication:
If at least a single bit of 4 (A/C-mode) or 5 (S-mode) of the output
configuration register set to 1, the response detector of A/C mode or S-mode
shall be active, and the way of operating states indication shall be changed.
The data frames reception is evaluated on the video line in regular intervals
of ten seconds. If a single or several A/C or S-mode responses detected, the
firmware shall change from the basic indication to the display indicating the
type of detected response. The display beginning and end is separated from
the basic indication by means of distinct extinguishing of all LEDs. The RUN
LED shall display the type of received responses by means of double blink in
the midst of diagnostic indication. Types of responses are coded by the
lengths of the RUN LED on states (see table below).
If no response detected in the interval of ten seconds, the LED display mode
shall not change, and only basic indication states shall be valid.

Indication and Localization of Error Conditions

The device is provided with the indication of its own faulty states (see
paragraph 7) and mediates a transfer of the power supply state via diagnostic
pulse in the optical and coaxial video. The power supply state is indicated by
the mains fail signal status (mains failure, power supply failure) as follows:

Mains fail signal

Diagnostic pulse duration/(period)

+20 V +28 V

30 s/(40 ms approx.)

0 V (high impedance)

43 s/(40 ms approx.)
