HOUSE RULES!

These Rules are not intended to make your lives miserable. These
should be appreciated as hot tips in order that we can all make the
semester as productive, enjoyable, informative and fun as possible.!

CLASSROOM RECITATIONS!
!

Everyone is expected to attend and actively participate. You are

allowed no more than two (2) absences in my class.!

The topics to be taken up during these sessions shall be made known

via Twitter (@junrodriguezph) with hash tag #sbclip or
#sbclip3(section), if intended for a specic section. !

Please prepare for the sessions by reading the assigned materials. !
!

If you are called to recite, consider yourself lucky because you have a
golden opportunity to impress me and the class. All recitations are
graded, unless otherwise announced. Every student must endeavor
to recite at least FIVE (5) times during the semester. It is the
students look-out that he meets this quota.!

ASSIGNMENTS!
!

Assignments are to be submitted within the deadlines, generally NLT

12 midnight of the day set as deadline. Late submissions shall
receive point deductions.!

These assignments shall consist of no more than 400 words, set on a

8.5 x 11 sized document, using Arial, Verdana, Lucida Grande or
Tahoma font, 14 points, single-spaced, but with 1.5 spaces in
between paragraphs. The margins are: 1.5 on the left; 1.2 on top
and 1.0 on the right and at the bottom. !

The le shall be named [YOUR LAST NAME] [ASSIGNMENT]

[NOx].pdf, where x is the Arabic numeral designation of the
assignment. WITHOUT the brackets, IN CAPITAL LETTERS.!

For example: !

The value of reading case decisions in their original form cannot be

overemphasized. To cultivate, if not to instill, this habit, students may
have to be forced to read by requiring them to make case digests in
their hand-writing. !

quia.com. Every class member shall register and secure a personal
account which shall be free of charge. Instructions on how to register
shall be provided at the proper time.!

FINAL PAPER!

There is a requirement for a Final Paper on a topic that most interests

you. The topic must involve a legal issue about Intellectual Property. I
have set JULY 15, 2014 as the deadline for submitting to me your
proposed topic. The requirement for submission allows me to assist
you delimit the scope and dene the thrusts and directions of your
main thesis. Please email your topic proposal to
askjun@rodriguez.ph. !

where XX represent your year and section, [YOUR LAST NAME]
[TOPIC PROPOSAL]. !

No topic proposal submitted after the deadline shall be considered.!

PLAGIARISM, ANYONE?!
!

Some of you may think that submitting something that is shoddy or

even copied and not original is all right because I may have not time
to read all the papers submitted and/or even if I did, that there is a
good chance that I will not notice such instances of cutting corners.
In a sense, you may be correct. But learning is not a cat-and-mouse
routine where I, as your teacher, have to ensure that you must
comply with the rules and that I must catch those who dont. !

If you cut corners and you get away with it, you may think you are
lucky. But are you? You fail to get the education you paid for. You
consign yourself to mediocrity. And you think you are lucky?!

But, If you are caught, you only have yourself to blame. I take the
matter very seriously.!
