Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

...whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed
from death to life (John 5:24, ESV).
Muslims constantly strive to avoid the coming judgment, hoping that their good works will outweigh the bad. Let's pray this
week that they will see the simple truth, that Jesus frees us from judgment and gives us life.

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

NORTHERN GHANA: A student pastoring in a northern city asks for prayer for several new believers:
Pray for two sisters who live with their Muslim uncle. They have accepted Jesus, and their uncle has banned them
from leaving the house without permission. Pray that the Spirit would minister to them and that they might find
opportunities to fellowship with and be discipled by other Christians. Pray for the salvation of their uncle.

Intercede for a young man, the younger brother of a very influential imam. While his family has not cast him out,
they are withholding food and refusing to pay his school fees. Pray that he would stand firm in his faith. Pray that
the pastor might develop a relationship with this imam; if he would accept the Lord, his family would likely follow.

Pray for another man who is now living with a Christian friend, that he may grow and be a witness to his family.
SAHEL NATIONS: Ten nations lie in the Sahel region, a semiarid band stretching from Senegal in the extreme west
to Eritrea in the Horn of Africa. Most of its population are Muslims. An alumnus who works with an international
media ministry asks us to pray for its Sahel Initiative. This outreach effort, he explains, brings together churchplanting agencies, media ministries, Bible translators, and development agencies to work together in chosen
communities of the Sahel. Please pray for an upcoming conference next month, for a spirit of unity and God's leading
as they plan. Pray also that, in targeted communities, God will reveal persons of peacepeople in a given
community who are open and will help to open the door to the gospel.

In the News
Elections update: Amidst accusations of fraud and unpreparedness, the West African nation of Guinea held presidential
elections this past Sunday. Please pray for calm when results are announced. Elections in Burkina Faso have been
postponed until November, and violence in Central African Republic has led to the postponement of their elections.

From Global Initiative*

Pray for outreaches to Muslims in Canada. Although only 2% of Canadians are Muslims, Islam is the fastest-growing
religion in the country. The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada is encouraging its churches and individuals to be
involved in resettling refugees moving in from Syria. Pray that their witness and love will make an eternal difference
in the lives of these searching people.

For Muslim Women**

This is Women's Week at the WAAST International Chapel. Please pray that, as the ladies meet and pray together all
this week, the Lord would touch their hearts to increase their outreach to the Muslim women who are their neighbors,
co-workers, even family members. Many already intercede for Muslims; pray that others would share this burden.
