ReValver4iseitherastandalonepieceofsoftwareforuseonAppleOSXorMicrosoftWindows
platforms,oritisalsoaVST/AU/AAXpluginthatcanrunwithinDigitalAudioWorkstations
(DAWs).Thesoftwarehasbeenredesignedfromthegroundup,everymoduleisfullytweakable
includingallcomponentsofaTubeAmp.NewfeaturessuchasACT(AudioCloningTechnology)
allowsyoutoprofileyourinstrumentandturnitintoadifferentinstrument(orshapeyourpresets
intoclassictones)andGIGMODEenablesyoutopreloadpatchesallowingseamlessMIDI
switchinginaliverig.ThenewRIR2speakersimulationmoduletakesconvolutionmodeling
withimpulseresponsestothenextlevelwithunparalleledrealismandresponse,whilstthe

QuickStart

NOTE:YourAudioDevicewillneedtobesetupwithReValverifyouhearahighpitched
squealing(especiallyifusingaMac),pleasejumptotheAudioSetuppartofthisUserGuide.

PeaveyhaveprovidedReValver4asafreedownloadwhereyoucanthengoandbuyextragear
&bundlesfromtheAmpStore.TogetstartedwehaveprovidedtwoAmplifiers,aliteversionof
RIR2,threepedals/effectsandsomeACTcontent.Theprogramstillneedstoberegisteredin
theAmpStore,whereitwilltieitselftoaUSBdeviceforlicensepurposes,allowingyoutouse
theprogramwithyourdownloadedcontentondifferentmachines.Thelicensewillbe
downloadedtoyourcomputerbuttheUSBdevicewilldefineyouastheusertiedtothelicense.If
thefollowingstepsarenotfollowed,ReValverwillbeindemomode(theAmpStorebuttonwill
flash)withsavedisabledandanintermittentbeepsounding.

Audio&MIDIDevicesSetup

IfyouhearahighpitchedfeedbacksoundwhenstartingReValver4,itislikelythatyour
InternalMicrophoneisselectedasyourinputtoremedythis,enterFile<AudioandMIDI
Devices..andselectanalternativeinput!

TogetyourGuitarsignalintoyourcomputerandreceiveAudioout,wedorecommenda
professionalAudioInterface.Thisallowsyourguitartoenteryourcomputeratthecorrect
impedance,soitwillsoundasitshouldandalsohelptominimizelatencyordelaybetweenyou
playinganoteandhearingitback.AninterfacesuchasthePeaveyXportpicturedbelowwilldo
thejobperfectly.TheinterfacewillconnecttothecomputerviaUSBandonceyouhave
downloadedanydriversneeded,hookyourguitaruptotheinputjackandthenheadphonesor
speakersfromtheoutputs.Ofcourse,anyaudiointerfacewillsuffice.

OnceyourguitarishookedupviatheinterfacethedeviceneedstobeselectedintheAudioand
MidiDevicespanelwithinReValvershownbelow.

FromhereyoucanselectyourdeviceastheInput&Outputalongwithitssamplerateand
whichInputs&Outputsyouwouldliketouse.Deviceswithmultipleoutputscangiveyoualotof
flexibilityforliveuse.

SettingtheBuffersizeisdependentonyourindividualsystem,whatotherprogramsyoumay
haverunninginthebackgroundandyouraudiointerface.Theloweryousetthebuffersize,the
lessLatencyyoullexperience.Agoodstartingpointistotry256samples(5.3msofLatency),
whichisbarelynoticeabletomostpeople.Ifyoursystemallows,trydroppingitorraisingitifyou
hearanystrangeartifactssuchascracklesorpops.Asdelaysgo,5msroughlycorrespondsto
standinglessthan2metersfromaspeaker.

TosetupaMIDIinterface,makesurethedeviceispluggedinandtheappropriatedriversare
downloaded.YouwillthenseeitasanoptionintheMIDIinputssectionoftheAudio&MIDI
Devicespageasshownbelow.SelectyourinterfacebyclickingonitandthenyourMIDI
controllerswillbereadytousewithReValver,openingupcompleteMIDIcontroloftheprogram.

LoadingReValver4intoaDAW

UsingReValver4standaloneisassimpleasloadingtheprogramup,itrequiresnoother
softwaretorun.UsingitasapluginwithinaDigitalAudioWorkstation(DAW)opensupwhole
newpossibilitiesforrecording.Firstly,itgivesyoutheveryconvenientfunctionofhaving
incredibleguitarsoundsinthebox.Butalso,yourguitarwillalwaysrecordindrywhilstyou
hearthetoneyouhavesetupinReValver.Thismeans,thatafterrecording,youcan
continuouslytweakthesettingstosuitthemix.

Forexample,ratherthanaddingEQtoaddextratopendcut,youmaywanttojustmovethe
microphonetoamorecentralpositionofthespeaker.Orinsteadofaddingextramidsona6505
amp,howaboutchangingthe6L6powertubestoEL34s?Thepossibilitiesareendless.Our
Tips&Trickssectionfeaturesothersuggestions.

LoadingReValverintoaDAWwilldifferfromprogramtoprogram.Macuserswillfindthatthe
pluginwillbeautomaticallylocatedwhilstWindowsusersmayhavetoscanthesystemfornew
pluginswithintheDAW.ConsulttheDAWsuserguideforinformation.

GraphicalUserInterface(GUI)

TogetstartedwithReValver4itwouldbebeneficialtospendalittletimegettingusedtothe
layout.Sofirstly,letstakealookattheGUIandthetopbar.

Fromtheleftyouhavethepresetsmenuwiththequicksave
and
clearpresetbuttonsto
therightandthepresetnamebelow(moreinfointhePresetssection).Thenyouhavethe
ModulesbuttontobringuptheModulepicker.Theinputboxhasabuttontotakeyoutothe
InputModules
.ThereisalsoanautoadjustoptionfornomalizingtheinputDBalongwitha
manualinputlevelanddigitalmeter.TheoutputboxhassimilarcontrolsmoreabouttheInput&

Finally,theCPUgaugetellsyouhowmuchoftheCPUyouareusing.Itisofahistogramtype
andhastheabilitytoshowtheCPUusageoverashortperiodoftime,displayingbothaverage
usage,andCPUspikes.WhilemodernOSareabletodistributetheworkloadofseveral
programsovertheCPUcores,youmayattimesbeinclinedtoshutdownotherprogramson
yoursystemtokeepthesoundfrombeingchoppeduporgettinghiccups.


Presets

Fromtheleftyouwillseethethepresetsboxandrelatedcontrols.Clickingthepresetsfolder
openstherelevantbankswhereyoucanselectapresettousebypressingthebluetick
Theyellowdustbinicon willdeleteapresetwhilsttheyellowdiskicon willallowyouto
exportindividualpresets.Alsointhismenuisasearchoptiontolookforkeywordsinthetitleand
descriptionofthepreset,forexamplesearchingforleadbringsupthespecifiedleadguitar
sounds.Pressingthefollowingsymbol willclearthefoundpresetsandpresentyouwiththe
fullmenuagain.

Alsofromhereyoucancreateawholenewbankforyourowncreationsorwherecurrent
presetscanbedraggedanddroppedtocreateyourownbankoffavourites.Banksarealways
createdatthebottomofthelist,soscrolldowntofindthenewbankthatyoucanrenameand
thendragtoadifferentareaofthemenuifdesired.Ifyouareimportingabank,eitherfrom
sharingwithotherusersoraPeavey.comdownload,thenclickimportbankandfindthe.safile
youwillhavedownloadedontoyoursystem.IfyouwishtoshareyourbankwiththeReValver
communitythenpressthesmallyellowdiskicontotherightofthebanknameandsaveinyour
preferredlocation.

Enteringabankfromclickingthedropdownarrowisalsothewaytosaveanewpreset.When
youarehappywithyourcreation,enterthepresetsfolder,clickonthebankyouwanttosavein
(orcreateanewone)thenclickSaveasnewpreset.Thenyoullbeabletonameyourpreset
andprovidenotesalongwithascreenshot(thescreenshotwillbeofeithertheStomps,Amps&
CabsorEffectsviewdependingwhichwasdisplayedwhenpressingsave).Importingpresetsis
muchlikeimportingabank,justselectwhichbankyouwanttoimporttheindividualpresetto.

Thearrowiconwillsaveanychangesyoumayhavemadetothispresetwithouthavingto
reopenthepresetswindow,displayingawarningsignthatthiswilloverwritethecurrentpreset
andthereisnowaytoundo.Ifindoubt,openupthepresetsmenuandsaveasanewpreset.
TheredXiconunderneathwillclearthecurrentpresetandgiveyouablankcanvastocreatea
newone.Again,awarningsignwillbedisplayedincaseyouhavetweakedthepresetandthe
changeswouldbelost.Forreference,ifthepresethasbeenalteredinanyway,theboxbelow
willfeaturethepresetnamewithanasterix(*)nexttoit,asshownabove.


Modules

ThetypeofModuleyoucanloadwilldependwhereyouareintherigorsignalchain.Inthe
middleoftheGUIyoucanselectfromrigAorB(whichruninparallel)andStomps,Amps&
CabsorEffects.

Letsimagineyouareinablankpresetandwanttocreatearigfromthebeginning.First,you
wouldwanttoselectanamplifierandcabinet.SowhilstontheAmps&Cabsscreen,clickeither
theModulesitemcircledbelow,orasanalternative,onablankpartoftherack.

ThiswillbringuptheModulePickerwhereyoucanbrowsethroughtheamplifiers,cabinet
modulesandanyrelevanttoolssuchasthesignalsplitterandnoisegate.

SimplyselectyourchosenmoduleanditwillloadintothethemainscreenofReValver.If
selectinganamplifier,RIR2willalsoloadwiththecabinetthatmatchestheamp.Ifyoureusing
thebasicversionofReValver4anddontowntheseparticularmodules/cabsthentheprogram
willbeinDemomodewheretheAmpStorebuttonwillflash,savewillbedisabled,
willbe
displayedonthemodulesyoudonthavealicenseforandabeepwillsoundintermittently.You
canstilldemothemodules,butifyouwanttopurchasethemthenyouwouldneedtotakeatrip
totheonlineAmpStore(seetheAmpStoresection).

Afterloadingupanampandcab,youcanthenstarttotweakthetonesontheamplifierasyou
wouldintherealworld.Sochannelswitching,gaincontrols,EQswillallworkastheywoulddo
ontheactualamp.Rightclicking(oralternative)anywhereontheampthatisnotacontrolwill
bringupacontextmenu.


Contextmenu.

Fromhereyoucandelete,moveorreplacethemodule.Thisallowsyoucontroloverwhereeach
moduleappearsinyourrig.

SelectingTweakschematiciswhereReValver4reallycomesintoitsown.Thiswillbringup
theinternalcircuitofmodule,withtheampmodulesofcoursebeingthemostindepth.Please
seetheTweakingGuideformoreinformationonthis.

InModulepresetsyoucansaveandloadpresetsforindividualmodules.Thisisparticularly
usefulifyouhavecreatedafavouredeffectyoudliketouseinmultiplepresets,likewisewith
amplifiersettings.

FoldupGUIallowsyoutocreatemorespaceinthemainReValverwindow,perfectforwhen
runningmultipleamprigswhenyoumaybedontneedtoseethecabinetsbutstillwantcontrol
overallampsettingsinonewindow.

TheoptionsintheQualitymodemenuallowyoutosetthepreferredamountofoversamplingfor
aspecificmodule.Eachmodulehasadefaultthatisreasonableforitstype.Ampsandmost
stompsarealwaysoversampledx2(oversamplinghelpsremoveunwanteddigitalfizz).Please
notethatoversamplingwillnottakeplaceinthecasewhereaudiosamplerateishigherthan
88kHz.Properantialiasingfiltersarealwaysusedwhereneeded.Whilepreviousversionsof
ReValverusedaglobalqualityswitch,ReValver4doesnot.Instead,allattemptsaremadeto
producethehighestpossiblequalityatalltimes.

ReValver4usesamixtureof32/64bitieeefloatprocessingwithinthemodules.Higherquality
calculationsarealwaysmadewhereneeded.

Bypassingamoduleallowsyoutohaveitturnedoffinsitu.

Modulescanberuninmonoorstereo,butobviousmodulessuchasamps&stompscant
makeuseofastereopath.

AmpshaveanextramenuoptioncalledCabinetImpedanceInteractionwhichrelatetohowcabs
andampsworktogether.Otherthanthecommonlyknownimpulseresponse(IR)ofthecab,it
haselectricalfeaturesthatcantbemeasuredwithamicrophone.Thoseelectricalproperties
stronglyaffecttheinnerworkingsofthepowersectionoftheamp.Acabinetselectrical
characteristicsgivestheampaconsiderableamountofdynamics,thelowendandthehighend
isaffectedseparately.Themenuchoicesallowyoutodefinehowthelow&highendis
processed.Thedefaultmodeistheelectricallycorrectapproach,butbysimplerearrangement
oftheprocessing,theeffectcanbemoreorlesspronounced.Somesettingscanplacethe
soundbetterinamix.

TheRIR2&RIR2litemodulesmakeuseofthesemeasuredelectricalcharacteristics,whilethe
originalRIRcanonlymakeguessessinceRIRallows3rdpartyIRsampleswithoutsuch
information.IfmorethanoneRIR2cabmoduleisinsertedinthepreset,onlyoneofthem
interactswiththeamp.Ifmorethanoneampisinthepreset,thecabinteractswithbothofthem.

LoadingamoduleintothePedalBoardintheStompssectionoftherigworksinthesame
mannerastheampsbyeitherclickingthemodulesbuttonoranywhereontheblankpedalboard.
Fromhereyoucanselectwhicheveroftheavailableeffectsyoudesire,arrangethemonthe
PedalBoardandyouareonlylimitedbyyourimagination(andCPU.)Thisisallalsotruefor
Effectsmodulesintheeffectsrack.

RIR2

RIR2isthenewspeakercabinetmodelingmodulewithinReValver4,bringingevenmore
dynamics&feeltotheprogram.

ReValver4isprovidedwithRIR2Liteasstandard,withthefullRIR2moduleavailableinthe
AmpStore.RIR2Lite,picturedbelow,stillfeaturesthesametechnologyasdescribedinthis
section,justwithfewerparameterstocontrolandapresetnumberofcabs.Pleasepurchasethe
RIR2moduletoloadinextracabinetsandtoexperiencethefullcontrollabilityofournew
speakersimulation.

ThecabinetsavailableforpurchaseintheAmpStorewillonlyfunctionundertheregularRIR2
module,nottheLiteversion.


RIR2Lite

ThespeakercabinetsmodeledinRIR2havebeencreatedbysamplingtheactualImpulse
Responseoftherealcabinetsfeaturedindifferentmicpositions.Thistimeconsuming
convolutionmethod,whenloadedintoouralgorithm,yieldsincrediblyrealisticresults.Addtothis
thatwehavecapturedtheelectricalfeaturesofeachcabinetandtheseinturninteractwiththe
amplifiermodulegivinguniquetonesandfeelwitheachcabinet/ampcombination.

RIR2

SelectinganamplifiermodulewillautomaticallyloadRIR2andamatchingcabinet.Alsoloading
apresetwillhavethecabinet,mic,positionandvariousparametersadjustedtomakethatpreset
soundthewayitdoes.Thesecanofcoursebeadjustedtoyourtaste.

Tochangethecabinetclickthedropdownmenuabovethecabinetgraphicandthiswillgiveyou
alistofcabstochoosefrom.DescriptionsareissuedintheAmpStoretogiveanideaofhow
theywillsoundbutthebestideaistotrythemout.

Acomprehensivelistofmicrophonescanthenbeselected,allexhibitingdifferenttonal
characters.Somemicrophoneshaveoptionswheredifferentfrequenciesarecutorboostedand
alsovariablepolarpatternsareselectable.Ifyourenotfamiliarwithdifferentmicrophonesand
howtheycanaffectthetone,experimentationisagainthebesteducator!

Onceamicrophoneisselected,theamountofgainappliedtothemiccanbealteredwiththe
gaindialandtheproximitytothegrilleofthespeakerresultingindifferenttonalities.Pressing

theoffaxisbuttonwillselecttheimpulseresponsewherethemicwasata45degreeangleto
theselectedmicposition.Offaxistonesusuallyresultinarolloffofhighfrequenciesandlessof
theproximityeffectresultinginaperceivablymoremellowtone,orcoursedependingonallthe
otherfactorsofmicrophone,cabinetandplacement!

Thenexttonalchangeyoucanmakeismicrophoneplacement.Thesecandifferinevensmall
movementsofamicagainstacabinet(thereforethesacredsweetspotofaspeaker!)The
generalruleisthatthecenterofthespeakerwillhaveabrightandaggressivesound,tightinthe
topendwithlesslowerresonantfrequencies.Pointingthemicattheinnerpartofthecone
tamesthehighfrequenciesandintroducesmorelowend,withthesoundgettingdarkerstill
towardstheouterextremesofthespeakercone.Itsbesttoagainexperiment,remembering
perfectmicplacementcantaketime!Beingabletochangethespeakerpositionafterrecording
inaDAWisanidealwaytohelpfitaguitarsoundintoamixwithouthavingtointroduceanEQ
whichmayimpartanundesirablecharactertothetoneyouhavecreated.

TherearedelaycompensationandphaseinversioncontrolsonRIR2.Theseareusefulwhen
blendingdifferentcabinetstocorrectanyphaseissuesbutcanalsobeusedtocreatewide
stereosoundsusingphaseeffects.Thedelayisupto30ms,althoughasmostcorrections
requirelessthan2ms,thecontrolisofahighersensitivityinthelowernumbers.

Finally,youcantweakthelowandhighfrequenciesusingthefiltersandalsointroduceroom
ambience,specifyingthesizeofthespaceandtheamounttodialin.Thiscanactintheextreme
asaroomreverb,orgenerallyjustenhancetheoveralltoneandaddalittlespace.

TweakingGuide

Thissectionoftheuserguideisnotmeanttoteachyouhowtobestmakechangestothe
sound,butrathermakeyoufamiliarwiththeUserInterface(UI).

ReValver4hasaremarkablesetof
parametersthatcanbeadjusted.Sinceallof
themcanbetweakedinreality,mostof
themhavebeenhiddenintheTweakUIto
avoidconfusion.Thiscanbefoundby
selectingTweakschematicinthecontext
menuofthemoduleyouwishtotweak.The
layoutoftheUIisthatofaschematic.Some
circuitsareofanelectricaltypeandothers
arepurelydigital.Thesignalflowthrough
thesecircuitsisindicatedwithlines,inthe
generaldirectionoflefttoright.

Theelectroniccircuitsareusingacomplexmodelingenginethatallowforhighaccuracyinfilter
andnonlinearsimulations.Itsusingarecognisedsetofoftechniquestoevaluatelarge
electronicnetworks.ItisnotpossibletoremoveorinsertcircuitsorcomponentswithinReValver
4,butyoucaneditthevaluesofallparameters.(Somecircuitsinsomemodulesmayhave
editingdisabled.Thereasonmaybethattheowneroftheschematicorthe3rdpartydeveloper
hasrequestedittobeso).

Youmaydragtheschematictofitappropriatesectionstothescreen,andifyouhaveascroll
wheelyoucanzoominandout.

Themostcommonelectronicparametersthatcanbeeditedareresistors,capacitors,inductors,
opamps,preamptubesandpoweramptubes.EachcomponentprovidesitsownUItoadjustthe
parametersofinterest.

Tocoveralltheseherewouldtakealongtime(indeed,seetheTips&Trickssectionforsome
hints),butchangingapoweramptubeisaseasyasclickingonthetubediagraminthecircuit
andswappingthetube.Takenotethatthetubesareinpairssoiftherearefourpowertubes,

IntheInputmixershownabove,youwillencounterthreeothermodulesalongwiththeACT
section.Thefirstofwhichisaleveladjustsectionwhichcanapplyautonormalizationofthe
input.Theautofunction
willnormalizetheinputlevelsto0.3dB.Intheeventthatyou
havesetthePickupRMS,anadditionaladjustmentwillbemadeasanattempttomimicthe
levelsofyourguitarpickup.Sinceyouwithallcertaintyhavesettheinputlevelsofyoursound
cardtoallowsomedynamicheadroom,ReValverneedstoknowwhattheactualRMSofyour
pickupcurrentlyissoastogetthevolumeuptoauthenticlevels.Youcansave&loadyour
favouriteRMSlevel.TheMonobuttonwillmergeL+R,whichcanbeusefulifthesignalcomesin
onlyononeofthestereochannels.

NextisasimpleNoiseGatemodule.ThisisfullyopenwiththeThresholdcontrolsetat0.
TurningtheThresholdupwillengagethenoisegatewhichwillstopyourguitarsignalgetting
throughwhentheguitarisnotbeingplayed.Thisisespeciallyusefulifyouhaveanoisy,high
gainrig.ThemoreyouturntheThresholdup,themoresignalwillberequiredtoopenthegate
meaningextremesettingswillbeverychoppyintonality,sometimesdesirable.

TheTunermoduleisachromatictunerthatwillpickupthenoteyouareplaying,displayingwhat
itisandwhentheneedleisinthemiddle,itisintune.YoucanalsousetheNoteMapanddefine
certaintuningsinthedropdownmenu.TheAFrequencycalibratesthetuningbyselectingthe

exacttuningoftheAnote.440Hzisstandardandisindeedthedefault,butdifferenttunings
havebeenusedformanyyearswithdifferentresultstrya432Hztuningforsometimesmore
mellowsoundingresults.TheSoundswitchallowsyoutomuteorusecleantobypassthe
ampmodelingtoallowanaudible,unprocessedcleansoundwhilsttuning.

ThefirstmoduleintheOutputmixerisablendingtool.ThisallowsthemixingofrigsA&Busing
theslidertoblend100%toAwithitup,100%toBwithitdownandanywhereinbetween.Thisis
agreattoolforcreatinguniquetonesbyblendingrigs.Youcanalsopaneitherrigleftorright
resultinginsomerichstereotones.Dependingonwhatcabinetsandmics/micplacementsyou
areusing,youcouldendupwithanoutofphasesound.Ifbothrigsareplacedcentrallythenthis
couldcreateahollowsound,maybelackingmidsorbottomend.Thephase
switchflipsthe
phase180forcorrectionalpurposesandthedelaycompensationdialallowsmorefinetuningof
anyphaseissues,althoughexperimentingwiththesecontrolsandespeciallystereoimagescan
createsomeuniqueandwidesoundingtones.Thedelayisupto30ms,althoughasmost
correctionsrequirelessthan2ms,thecontrolisofahighersensitivityinthelowernumbers.

AparametricEQisagreattoolforfinalpresetshaping.RemembertoenabletheEQby
pressingtheONswitch,thenusethefirstcontrol(ahighpassfilter)toslowlyremove
troublesomelowendfrequenciesthatcouldbeinterferingwithanyotherinstrumentsinamix.
Thelowestcontroldoesthesameforthehighfrequenciestohelpremoveanyunwantedfizz.
Belowandabovethesefiltersaretwoshelvingeqswhichwillcutorboost(usingtheyellow
dial)thefrequenciesselectedbytheblueknob.Thethreemiddlefrequenciesuseabelleq
whichwillfocusonacutorboostoftheselectedfrequencieswhilstalsoslightlyaffectingthe
surroundingfrequenciestocreateasmootheffect.

Thecompressorisofanopticalfeedbacktypethatrespondswelltotransients.Ithasan
adjustableattacktime,compressionratio,makeupgainandasidechainhighpassfilter.

TheOutputmixeralsofeaturesaVUmetertoadjustthefinaloutputlevels.Itsimportantnotto
lettheseclipasdigitaldistortioncanbequiteharshsounding.Theoutputisequippedwithan
autonormalizationfeature.

ACTAudioCloningTechnology

InboththeInput&OutputmixersyouwillfindtheACTModule.Theyworkdifferentlyinboth
sectionssoletsfirsttakealookathowthisworksontheinput.

Ontheinput,ACTwillprofileyourguitar,thenusinganotherpresetprofile,transformthesound
ofyourinstrumentintotheonethatyouhaveselectedwithinthemodule.Itsverysimpletodo
dropdownthemenuofthetargetsoundprofileandhereyouwillfindprofilepresetsofAcoustic

instrumentstovariousdifferentElectricGuitarswithdifferentpickupsandpickuppositions.
Droppingdownthevariousmenusyouwillfindphotos,descriptionsandexamplesforyouto
audition.Pressingthespeakerbutton
willauditionthatparticularprofile,normallyplaying
theunprocessedsoundoftheinstrumentbeingprofiled.MostACTlibrariesfeatureExample
sectionswhereyoucanheartheactualinstrumentbeingplayedthroughanamplifiertogiveyou
anideaofitsindividualsound.AllACTlibrariesareavailableforpurchaseintheAmpStore,but
theycanalsobetriedindemomode,justceasingtoworkwhenyouleavetheACTmenu.

Toprofileyourguitarandapplyoneofthepresets,presstheredrecordbutton andplay
strummingallstringsandbarringyourfingerupthenecktolettheACTmodulehearasmany
notesaspossible.ThiswillcreatethebestprofileofyourinstrumentandallowtheACTtowork
inanoptimummanner.Thewholeprocesstakesaround10seconds.

Whenfinished,thepresetwillbeappliedandyouhavenowturnedyourguitarintoadifferent
instrument!Remembertoplayyourguitarliketheinstrumentyouhavechosenalthoughthere
isnothingtostopyouputtinganylonstrungclassicalguitarthrougha6505andplayingfast
metal,itmaynotsoundexactlyasyouexpect!!

Ifyouarestillinthesamepresetandhavealreadyprofiledyourguitar,selectingadifferent

1Usethesignalsplitterinthepedalboardviewtoblendtwodifferenteffects,distortion,oreven
asawet/drycontrol.Let'ssayyouwanttocreateauniquemodulationeffect,blendingachorus
pedalandaflanger.Loadthesignalsplitterandputthechoruspedalintothebluepartandthe
flangerintotheredpartthenexperimentwiththeblendcontrol.Youcanalsouseitthesameway
toblenddifferentdistortionpedalsandgetdifferentflavorsofdistortion.Touseitasawet/dry

compressorislikelytomakeitmuchmorepresent.

2Ifyouwantmorecontrol,useashorterattackonthecompressor,sinceitwilltamethe
transients.Ifyouwantmorepunch,usealongerattacktimeanditwillletmoretransientspass
beforecompressionkicksin.Ifyouwantmoresustain,usealongerreleasetime.Tohavea
betternotionofwhattheattackandreleaseofyourcompressoraredoingtothesound,
exaggeratetheratioandthresholdcontrolsuntilitisreallyaffectingthesoundinawayyoucan
