A Descriptive Short Story
Today, in this 21st century, we are no different humans than those thousands of years ago. Our
culture, traditions, beliefs and our practices same then where did we go wrong? Where in history
did we choose the wrong path? We need to sit back and think for a moment. Think for a moment
why our conditions are deteriorating nowadays. Why people are killing their own brothers and
sisters for the sake of money. Why are our hearts so numb that we pass by a dying person and do
not care to help? We fill our hands with blood of our people and give no ear to the moaning and
crying of their families, imagine the honor we feel while killing, hurting, and robbing others off
their possessions. Sit back and think for a moment how broken, disgusted and dead we are.
There is no fate but what we make. We have come a long way from what we used to be It is our
carelessness that caused us to forget our true selves and indulge in hypocrisy. It is lack of
nationalism due to which we sold our country to the big powers of the world. It is our lack of
concern due to which we sell our people, our assets, our self-respect for the sake of money and it
is our doings due to which we are crushed under the feet of those we crushed once.
We must not forget our brilliant past, our leaders like Quaid e Azam M ali jinnah, whose utmost
hard work paid off and won us an independent nation where we could breathe freely. Lets not
forget our poets like Allama M Iqbal, whose poetry opened the eyes and the hearts of the Muslims
to work together towards a free Islamic nation. Lets not forget our pride like Sir Syed Ahmad,
whose non- crushable determination spread the word of knowledge among all the Muslims in the
sub-continent and made them stand up on their feet. Lets not forget the remarkable day of 23rd
march when all the Muslims gathered under one flag, with unity, love and faith, to observe the
very first constitution of Pakistan in the making. All the hard work, sacrifices, wars, bloodshed
paid off when this nation broke the chains of slavery of Hindu and British Raj and became the
Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Lets not forget how this country was born. Lets not forget Pakistan
is our Home.
Its time we value our history, our culture and all the sacrifices our forefathers made for this
country. And this can only be done by the determination of todays youth. This youth has the
ability to make this nation flourish and explore farther skies and beyond. In the presence of such
a brilliant and enthusiastic youth, which makes more than half of our population, the future of
Pakistan is bright. This youth is our hope.

We might be upset and unhappy today. But lets just take defeat as a temporary grief for a moment.
We still have hope, that green Pakistani flag is still in our hearts. So lets get together and recall
the sacrifices of our forefathers. Lets believe that we are not done yet. The journey has just begun.
These hurdles and storms will keep on coming. Only a true Pakistani can cross them like lightning.
Lets be true Pakistanis today and from today onwards. Lets believe in the message of Islam. You
and I can make it possible. Pakistan Zindabad.
