1. Sell yourself to me identifying key value proposition, brand attributes, target segment
requirements
You are a product. What makes you special? What differentiates you from your peers?
Achievements? Traits? Experience? Could be a clincher.
2. Most interesting project of your lifetime and learning from it
Your role in the project? Ideally, one where you were a leader...
Conflicts faced, if HR issues then sorted in what fashion? If marketing, how?
Technical issues may not be a good fit here, unless they indicate some sort of team building
and getting everyone to work together
3. Your understanding of marketing strategy to be explained through reference to work-ex
or
past projects
Could talk of cases where wrong strategy caused failure, customer not satisfied and suggest
what could be improved on...
Even if it was a successful project, ensure that you speak of it from a 4P framework and what
could be done to better it...
4. Favourite Ad campaign what was special about communication, what technology used
Not just creativity, how does the Ad fit into the overall marketing strategy of the company;
Ideally a perfect match between Ads message and the companys message; Mention money
spent and possible impact on sales, brand value and a way to measure the effectiveness...
5. Two-word tests: group or individual, learn or try, test or apply, fun at work or recognition
at Work
Should be in sync with question 1...
Ideally group, learn, apply, fun would be what is required
6. Describe yourself in one word with supporting examples
Same as Q1
7. Worst character trait
Honestly answering this question helps... It is easy to figure out when one is mouthing out a
prepared false answer...
8. Why not a career in consulting?
Talk of various aspects of marketing and the sphere you like best...
Challenge of not just advising, but being accountable for the results...
Finally it is about connecting with people, the way it mixes both an understanding of numbers
and an understanding of human beings

9. Case: You are an ASM, an experienced stockist/dealer has an idea that he wants to be
executed throughout your region, but that idea isnt feasible. What do you do to motivate him
after rejecting his idea?
More data on why not feasible; convince him why you are rejecting it...
Negate that condition in a different situation... Offer to utilize that idea in that situation
He is your dealer, main customer point of contact, at no point should you suggest something
which might insult him
10. Case: You are given Rs. 1 Crore and you need to generate max revenues from a restaurant
business in your hometown/Ahmedabad. How do you go about the process? Check for STP,
4Ps in response
Through STP and 4Ps, where will you put it up? What prices for dishes? Whom to cater to?
Seating capacity?
Answers might be through surveys? Common research methods to be mentioned, which one
did you choose?
Ratio of investment to return? Why is this the maximum?

11. Case: An electric bicycle with charged batteries capable of doing 50 kms with one charge
identify marketing strategy (includes STP, pricing)
After STP, why would someone buy it? Who would need it the most? Surrogates like need of
charger units, not very good roads, lower income might provide clues...
How fast does it move? Price will be a function of this too...
12. Case: Pricing 50g Vaseline new Naturals jar techniques of pricing (consumer driven,
costs?
Competition?)
Use 4Ps and then 3Cs framework
