Teacher: Okay, now we are going to play hot seat. This is our hot seat. Okay.

One student has to sit in this chair. I will write a word on the board behind the
chair. The other students have to give the student who is sitting on the chair
clues, so that the student can guess the word. You are not allowed to say the
word on the board. Maria Elena, can you please explain this activity?
Maria Elena: Sure! One student sits in the chair. You will write a word on the
board. We will give the students clues. The student on the chair will try to
guess the word.
Teacher: Okay, Tania, please come and sit on the hot seat.
Tania: Okay teacher.
(Tania sits on the chair. Maritza writes the word apple on the board.)
Teacher: Dont look Tania. Okay students, go ahead.
Students (Maria Elena and Marielle): Its red or sometimes green.
Tania: A tomato?
Students: No- Its sweet.
Tania: A pear?
Students: No- it can be red too!
Tania: Ohhhhh, an apple!?
Students: yeaaahh!
Teacher: Good job students!

Teacher: okay class, page number 11, here is a vocabulary exercise; this is a
list of vocabulary. Im going to write the words on the board, and then give you
some pictures. You are going to match them, okay, and you have one minute.
Tania, what are you going to do?
Tania: In this work, you will, uhm, some words, you will write some words on the
board, and then you will, you ask some pictures, you will match them.
Teacher: okay, good try! I will write the words on the board, and you will match
the words with some pictures which I will give you.
(Teacher writes the words cherries, watermelon, grapes, strawberries, apple
and pineapple- on the board. Teacher gives two pictures to each student.
Students put the words on the board.)
Teacher: Perfect, give them a big hand please. Okay, that only took 15 seconds.
Good job!
Teacher: Okay students. In the next activity we are going to play a game with
this ball. The person who has the ball will ask a question like, can you name a
fruit which begins with the letter ___? Then the person will throw the ball to
somebody in the class. That person must answer the question. Then, they ask
a different person another question. Is that clear?
Students: YESSSSS
Teacher: Okay then, Julie, what do you have to do in this activity?
Julie: okayyy, uhmmm, we need- throw ball- we need- say a fruit?
Teacher: Okay- nice try! Maria Elena, please come here so I can show the class
what to do. Okay.
Maria Elena, can you name a fruit that begins with the letter a? (Teacher throws
ball)

M.E.: Yeah! Thats easy teacher! Apple!


Teacher: Good- now you ask a question.
M.E.: Can you name a fruit that begins with the letter o? (throws ball)
Teacher: Yes! An orange! Okay students, do you see?

Teacher: Okay, please come here and make a circle.
