Comment upon the following Knowledge is power. Information is liberating.
Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family. (Kofi
Annan)

According to the words written above I can say that the power of reason is the
main key in education. Education is vital to open a great gate which leads to an
infinite number of possibilities, but the main task of the education , in my opinion,
is to make ourselves ready to behave in society.
The first model in education are parents, many persons follow what their parents
do, but not what they say and this can cause a lot of conflicts, as an example,
think about a clear-minded father who smokes, but he tells his son no to smoke,
but eventually he will.
At a certain age we should be able to make a simple difference between what is
good or bad for us, difference which many of us are not able to make.
I might be wrong, but our purpose, as humans, is to evolve, to make progress,
and how can you do progress if not by being educated and achieving knowledge
from different subjects? The education process is initiated, as I stated above, by
our family. The primary education should, in first place, teach us to behave, to
respect the others as we used to respect our parents in the past, but this does
not happen all the time, and this occurs because of the society we are living in
this moment, we are witnesses to cases where parents do not have any control
upon their children and this is, again, a failure in parenting.
From our warm homes, the education moves in the benches of school, where we
face for the first time with a collective, there is where the real progress should be
made. An educated society is an efficient society, and it develops fast and no
one is marginalized but integrated among the others to suit the requirements
that are applied for all the citizens.
The best example I can give is my own person. Since I was a little boy my parents
were true heroes for me, I knew that I will not be able to payback their effort, but
at least I could make them proud of me. Even though my father was not home all
the time, he managed to make me feel like he is with me. But while he was
sailing around the world my mother has always tried her best to make me
understand why I have to learn, and I did.
Another person who played a great role in my education, was my brother. He is
the most responsible for the person I became today, even if he realized that my
potential is greater than his, I told him: I am not the best, we are. .
I got the base, and just after that, a new opportunity appeared, the chance to
develop this little set of elementary rules I learnt from my parents, this

opportunity is called school, and I felt lucky to be able to attend courses that
determined me to achieve knowledge.
The education is a life-time process, first stage: respect yourself, second stage:
respect your family, third stage: respect the others, fourth stage: achieve
information, fifth: use the gained information to develop your professional needs,
final stage: never forget all the stages because they repeat at a certain period of
time and new ones occur at any moment.
All those said resume what Kofi Annan stated, education starts within family, then
walks slowly through society, selects the benefic information and, in the end, the
power we achieved through knowledge is reliable.
