Recruitment for the posts of “Junior Research Fellow”
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier autonomous
Institution established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India,
for promotion of high quality science education and research in the country.

Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the posts of “Junior Research Fellow”
under the following research projects funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST)
and Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.

1) Name of the Research Project: “Photoinduced Electron Transfer Rate (Between Flavins
and Aromatic Amino Acids) In Nanocavity of Proteins Versus Bulk Water” funded by Department
of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow (Code No : 30110020)

No of Post: 1

Qualification Required: M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from recognized University/Institute


with minimum 55% marks / equivalent grade. Preference will be given to candidates
having exposure in fluorescence spectroscopy.

Fellowship: Rs. 12000 p.m. during 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 14000/- p.m. during 3rd year
as per the DST norms.

Tenure of the post: Three years subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent
and continuation of research project.

Age: 28 (Shall not exceed as on the closing date of advertisement)

Biotechnology, Government of India.

Qualification Required: M.Sc. degree in Biology from recognized university with


minimum 55% marks / equivalent grade.

Fellowship: Rs. 12000 p.m. during 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 14000/- p.m. during 3rd year
as per DST norms.

Tenure of the post: Three years subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent
and continuation of research project.

Qualification Required: M.Sc. degree in genera/organic Chemistry from recognized


university with minimum 55% marks / equivalent grade. Preference will be given to
candidates having valid CSIR/UGC NET or GATE score

Fellowship: Rs. 12000 p.m. as per DST norms.

Tenure of the post: Three years subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent
and continuation of research project.

Age: 28 (Shall not exceed as on the closing date of advertisement)

Qualification Required: M.Sc. degree in general Chemistry/organic chemistry/polymer


chemistry from recognized university with minimum 60% marks / equivalent grade.
Preference will be given to CSIR/UGC NET qualified or with good GATE score

Fellowship: Rs. 12000 p.m. as per DST norms.

Tenure of the post: Three years subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent
and continuation of research project.

Age: 28 (Shall not exceed as on the closing date of advertisement)

General Information / details about the post

1. Appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or
compensation on termination of the project.
2. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment / absorption in Funding Agency or
in IISER Pune.
3. Appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding
agency particularly applicable to the said project
4. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities /
Institutions.
5. The Institute may restrict the number of applicants to be called for selection process to a
reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than that of the
minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The applicants should, therefore, furnish full
details of qualifications and experience possessed in the relevant field, over and above the
minimum qualifications prescribed.
6. Reservation as per Govt. of India norms will be followed.
7. No interim enquiries / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained on the
matter.
8. Canvassing in any form and / or bringing any influence, political, or otherwise, will be treated
as a disqualification for the post applied for.
9. Applications incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected.
