In addition to school rewards such as certificates and front


of the line pass for lunch, AMS is hosting a free movie night
on October 29 from 6:00-8:30PM. The film,

Jurassic World, will be shown in the school theater, a


permission slip is required for attendance, free popcorn and a
soda will be provided. Permission slip and the school coupon
will be attached to the certificate packet distributed during
Advisory this week. Extra permission slips are in the student
office. The list of Honor Society and Honor Roll students will
be posted in the student office window next week.

Important Dates!

The Parents Club will be having two Box Tops For Education
drives this year. Our first will be on October 26 and 27.
Students are asked to bring in their Box Tops on October 26
and 27. They are to turn in their Box Tops to their advisory
teacher. The class with the highest number of Box Tops
turned in will get Spirit Points. Any Box Tops turned into the
office will not go towards a particular class but will count

Next week, Oct 26-30 is Red Ribbon Week. To help bring


awareness to living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, we will have
spirit days and activities in Advisory. Each day in Advisory,
students will have a question they can answer about
respecting themselves and being drug free. We will pick the
most thoughtful and unique answer from each grade level and
announce the winners at the end of each day. Winners will be
able to get a regular size candy of their choice and a pencil
from room 3 at the end of the day. Our spirit days will be-

Get to Know Contest


The Get to Know Contest is calling youth all across
America to get outdoors and get to know nature! Submit
art, writing, photography, video, and music inspired by
the great outdoors. So whether it's a visit to a local park
in your neighborhood, a local zoo or aquarium, or a
nearby National Forest or Wildlife Refuge, we want you
to get outdoors and get to know! Then send us your
artwork and you could win big! Winners will receive wild
prizes, including the chance to have their entry
published in the electronic 2016 Get to Know Contest
Calendar and other exciting partner prizes. The Contest
is now open and runs until November 1, 2015! To learn

students to Latin American culture through music

6th graders are you interested in being in
Leadership? How about running for student body?
If so, this ENRICHMENT class is for you! ANY
6TH GRADE STUDENT INTERESTED SHOULD
ATTEND THIS AFTER SCHOOL CLASS. The
purpose of this Enrichment class is to: Introduce
any interested students to ASB; Involve 6th graders
in ASB; Allow 6th graders to be a part of student
government meetings; To provide 6th grade teachers
with representatives for ASB activities (to do spirit
count, make announcements, etc). Those 6th graders
who were elected at the end of Quarter 1 as 6th
grade representatives will be required to attend as
well.

Junior Achievement-It's My Business
In JA it's My Business! You will explore higher
education and career choices. We have fun,
challenging activities including an entrepreneurial
quiz game, completing a blueprint for club,

Safety First
Please help make student drop-off and pick-up safe! We
realize traffic is a concern, please help us by not leaving your
car unattended, parking in a red zone, encouraging your
student to walk thru moving traffic, and please be courteous.
We understand traffic jams occur, patience is very much
appreciated.
Please remember all middle students riding skateboards,
scooters, and bikes to and from school must wear a safety
helmet, it's the law. Also, Students are not allowed to ride
skateboards/scooters/bikes on campus. Any student caught

At AMS, student are required to move from class to

daily. It is expected that all students arrive to every
class on time. Tardies create a disruption to the

receive Friday School Detention.
