The Runway Construction is being done by M/S TARMAT LIMITED at Air force
Station Leh which is the highest operational Air base in the world with MES
(Military Engineering Service) being the Design & Consultant.
Total initial Cost of project is 15,52,11,174.40
Total length to be macadamized 2770 m with the width of 45.72 m & thickness
of 63 mm laying and 50 mm Compacted.
Total amount of DSC (Dense Asphaltic Concrete) to be used 151340.058 MT.
Bitumen to be used is Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB 70(E))
Tack coat to be provided is VG-10@2.5kg/10 sqm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
To check proper mixing in a given ratio of aggregates and that of bitumen.
To check proper heating.

Proper laying of tack coat & DSC layer.

To handle various problems arising at plant & site.

Proper laying of bituminous material of given thickness.

To coordinate with lab engineer for necessary action to be taken at site pertaining to
quality of work.

To help work supervisor and other staff to overcome the various hurdles faced during

To check temperature of bituminous material at plant, laying & after rolling.

 Project Details:
The Flyover project JCRB flyover/Expressway Corridor is being constructed between Jahengir
Chowk to Rambagh- NatiporaSrinagar KASHMIR by SIMPLEX INFRATECH PVT LTD.
With GKW CONSULT GmbH Germany being the Design and Service Consultant.

Total initial cost of project is 220 hundred lakhs.

Total amount of Concrete to be used 2.5 lakh cubic meter approx.
Total amount of steel to be used 800 MT approx.
The total Span of flyover is 2.5 Km.
The flyover is double lane with total width of span being 7 meters.
The foundation given is deep pile foundation with the depth of pile varying between 32 to
23m from place to place. Total no. of piles being 1295. The pile is cast in-situ, nondisplacement frictional concrete pile. Concrete used is M35 design mix. Diameter of
single pile being 1.2m. The pile group consists of 9 to 12 piles.
Total no. of pile caps 98. The length of pile cap is 12.5 m & breadth is 8.7 m for 12 pile
group with distance between two piles being 3.6m.For 9 pile group the length and breadth
being 8.7m & 8.7m and depth is 1.8m for both.
Total no. of pier Shafts 167.
Total no. of pier caps 98.
Total no. of spans 92.
Total no. of Pre-casted Girders 447.
Total no. of cross Girders 154.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In charge (RBM) Rig Boring Machine Workforce.
To check the material, machinery, shuttering etc. after the RFI is received.
To supervise the different components of work, in accordance with the technical
specification lied down in the agreement.
Piling, Pile Cap, Pier Shaft, Pier Cap Casting Supervision& technical Assistance.
Checking Slump and Casting Concrete cube for Compressive Strength test.
Checking Exact Pile point, Checking Boring Depth to be achieved, R.L. of Casing top
level (CTL), Placing &Verticality of Casing, Hook length, Density of bentonite Solution,
Reinforcement Details, hydrometer, washing of bore with bentonite etc.
To ensure reinforcement is done according to the specifications & drawings.
To ensure the proper follow up actions i.e. Curing etc. after the work/Concreting is done.
To Conducting Pile Load test.
To monitor and Check day today work and quality Control.
Verify and Check quality and completion of work.

Maintain the QC record of day today field work.

Responsible for maintaining the quality of concrete work done at site.
Maintaining the field staff.
Prepare daily progress report and send to Constructor Manager.
Preparation of Monthly Progress Report of the Sector Working In.
Coordinate with Client and Contractor for smooth work progress.
Checking of monthly R.A. bills.
