About this guide

The SpringBoard Portal is a powerful cloud based access portal allowing users to easily and securely
access their LoadSpring hosted applications from anywhere in the world. Not only can you access your
applications but you can request support or watch training videos from LoadSpring Academy. With cloud
based platforms security is key to ensuring your applications and data are protected. Security is a core
constitutional focus at LoadSpring therefore we have created this guide to walk you through everything
you need to know about password management within the SpringBoard. As you read through this guide its
helpful to have access to the SpringBoard so you can try things out.

Highlights
A very strong password is an important protection to help you have safer interaction with cloud based data.
The SpringBoard requires a very strong password. Here are the guidelines:

Length: Make your passwords at least eight (8) characters long.

Complexity: Include a combination of at least one (1) upper and lowercase letters, punctuation,
symbols, and numerals. The more variety of characters in your password, the better.

Variation: Change your passwords often. Set an automatic reminder to update passwords in the
SpringBoard. The SpringBoard defaults to a password expiration of 45 days where you will be
notified via email it is time to change your password and when you attempt to login you be
prompted to change your password.

Variety: Dont use the same password for everything. Cyber criminals can steal passwords from
websites that have poor security, and then use those same passwords to target more secure
environments, such as the SpringBoard.

First Time Users

As a First Time User you will receive an email invitation from the SpringBoard when your account is first
created. This email contains a hyperlink that you can use to set your initial password. The link is only valid
for 7 days from receipt and becomes invalid once used. The following image shows an example of the
email you will receive with the link.

Once the link in the email is selected your browser will take you to the following secure encrypted website
where you can enter your password. Once the password is provided the user will be logged into the
SpringBoard.

The link can only be used once otherwise the user will receive the following:

The SpringBoard will let you know if your password is missing a complexity requirement. As a reminder
here are the minimum requirements:

8 characters long

Must contain 1 uppercase letter

Must contain 1 lowercase letter

Must contain 1 number

Must contain 1 special character

The following image is an example of a validation you will receive if youre missing a very strong
complexity requirement. If the validator only shows the word Strong you password is missing one of the
criteria above.

Other Password Constraints: The SpringBoard will not allow a password to contain 4 consecutive
characters of a users first name, last name, or username. You will be prompted to try a different password
if this condition is detected.
After entering your password you will then be logged into the SpringBoard and prompted to accept the User
Agreement. Alternatively, you may receive SpringBoard login credentials from your Company
Administrator. If you use the manually provided login credentials to login you will be asked to change the
password upon first use.

Sequences or repeated characters. Examples: 12345678, 22222222, abcdefg, or adjacent

letters on your keyboard (qwerty).

Personal information that could be guessed or easily discovered. Your name, birthday, or
similar information.

Password Security Features

In order to protect your passwords, LoadSpring has implemented some high-security procedures in order to
mitigate attempts to take over your account. The following settings affect the use of your passwords in the
SpringBoard:

If you attempt to enter a wrong password more than 5 times, your account will be automatically
disabled for a period of time. You will need to contact your local SpringBoard Company
Administrator when this happens.

If you do not use your account for more than 90 days, your account will automatically be disabled.
You will need to contact your local SpringBoard Company Administrator if this happens.

If you are logged into the SpringBoard for more than 4 hours and didnt accept the prompt to
continue your session you will be logged out of the SpringBoard.

If anyone other than you changes your password, for security reasons, you will be notified via
email, and prompted to change your password to your own confidential password before being
able to re-authenticate.

Changing your Password

You may change your password or security questions at any time when logged into the SpringBoard. The
dropdown next to your name across the header contains a menu with multiple options such as Update My
Profile, Change Password, or Change Security Questions.

Resetting your Password

Forgot your password? Thats OK, you have three options to get it corrected. Please use the following
process to reset your password:
1. On the Main SpringBoard login page, select the Forgot Password? link. You will be redirected to
a secure location where you must answer your Secret Question correctly. (Please ensure your
username is correct before submitting your answer) If you did not set your Secret Questions, you
must use one of the next two methods below to reset your password. Otherwise, if successful, the
SpringBoard will send a Password Reset link to your registered email account.

2. If you are unable to use the Forgot Your Password? link, please contact your local SpringBoard
Company Administrator who will be able to log in and reset your password for you. Remember,
once they reset your password, for security reasons, you will be required to enter that new
password, and create a new secret password in order to re-authenticate into the SpringBoard. We
do this to protect you from any unauthorized resets
3. If you are unable to contact your local SpringBoard Company Administrator, please contact
LoadSpring Support and we will assist you. (1-877-562-3777) We will go through a verification
process, requiring you to respond to an email sent to your registered address. If you can
successfully prove you are who you say you are, LoadSpring Support will reset your password. If
we cannot accurately verify your identity, we will make an attempt to contact your local
SpringBoard System Manager.
