Winter’s Disruptions
We are so thankful for your prayers
during our “home ministry” time. It
seems that you did not want us to leave
the States without having a “proper”
winter. We have had a good dose of
snow as of late. At the beginning of the
month we were to travel to West Virginia
for a presentation and got snowed in at
our home office in Harrisburg, never
making it to the meeting. Tomorrow we
were due to be in Hamilton, NY, but
once again the weather changed our
plans. Thankfully we are able to re-
schedule both of these meetings.
Prayer for Land
One of the growth stages in the
development of the church in Ballito is to
find affordable land on which we can
eventually build a building. The first
Monday of every month has been set
aside to spend concerted effort in prayer
regarding this huge need. On 1 March
our church family will be meeting at a
possible parcel of land in order to pray
and seek God’s will. Please pray with
us that God would direct our leadership
and church body in the decisions that lie
ahead. Please also pray that God would
provide the needed funds that are going
to be required to move ahead on this
matter. Our church is also in the
process of voting for its first deacons.
We need you to bathe this in prayer.
Laura’s Return
Those that read our prayer letters will be
acquainted with Laura who joined our
team in Ballito this past year. In July
she was assaulted and returned to the
States for healing and counselling. At
the beginning of the month we were able
to meet up with her at ABWE’s home
office. We spent the day playing
see the work that God is doing in her life
in the midst of the experiences of this past year.
Please pray for Laura as she returns to South
Africa during the first couple weeks of March.
The goals of her visit center around continued
healing and ascertaining whether or not she will
be able to return to South Africa to minister. I am
sure she would appreciate your prayers.
Furlough Update
This past month Joshua and I attended the Men’s
Adventure that was held in our supporting church
in Binghamton, NY. Over 930 men spent time
singing, praying and listening to Buddy Davis
from Answers in Genesis. It was great to
reconnect with some we haven’t seen in a long
time. As a family we spent one weekend at
Grace Baptist in Laurel, MD. We managed to find
them buried under mountains of snow. It was
great to share Valentine’s weekend with them.
Please continue to pray regarding our support
needs. It is a frightening prospect to stand at the
80% support level in this economy. We are
convinced that God’s plan is perfect, so we ask
that you pray that God would direct our steps.
Home Happenings
The kids have enjoyed a bit of time playing in an
unceasing supply of snow. This week they got to
teach our Columbian neighbours how to make a
snowman, which was rather ironic. These are
skills you just don’t learn in our parts of the world.
Please continue to pray for Steve’s mom. She
has gone for more scans as of late and is seeking
to adjust to the ever shifting effects of cancer and
its treatment. We are blessed to be able to spend
brief moments of time with her here and there.
