Critical Business Data From JD Edwards ERP System
for Improved Decision Making
Acta Technology, the creator of the first data integration platform to combine real-time and batch

ActaWorks(TM) to extract, transform and load critical business data from its JD Edwards ERP system
to the data warehouse to enable up-to-date reporting across its business.
Arjo Wiggins Appleton, headquartered in the United Kingdom, plans to use ActaWorks as the
company's global data integration platform to extract data from a variety of disparate systems
throughout the company's operations. ActaWorks is a powerful next generation, extraction,
transformation and loading (ETL) tool and the foundation of the Acta Data Integration Platform.
ActaWorks enables enterprises to rapidly design, deploy and deliver data warehousing and
integration projects from any enterprise data source for business intelligence, customer relationship
management, supply chain management, and eCommerce applications.
"The decision to use ActaWorks as our data integration platform, will impact a number of strategic
initiatives within the Group; helping to provide the correct information wherever and whenever it is
needed," said Steve Osmond, IS manager responsible for business intelligence at Arjo Wiggins. "We
are considering further extending the project to encompass our shop floor operations which operate
on varying and disparate systems in each of our business units -- a task which Acta is proven in time
and time Enterprise Search again."
"We are currently piloting the reporting system in the UK with a view to expanding the project to
encompass hundreds of users across Europe. With Acta's pre-packaged data caches, we can ensure
all are served with the business information they require without impacting our ERP system. Our
expectation is that we will purchase more of Acta's eCaches as our IT plans unfold," Osmond said.
"This implementation further Semantic Search enforces the needs for ActaWorks in today's
enterprise," said Tim Daniels, VP EMEA, Acta Technology. "Providing a single view of the business
as and when required based around an infrastructure that can adapt to the changing demands of the
