1. Technical Round: Comprising of 170 MCQ questions, it was divided into


4 sections:i.
Quantitative Reasoning- 40ques
ii.
Technical questions- 50ques
iii.
Analytical Reasoning- 40ques
iv.
English- 40ques
Quant reasoning questions were apparently easy (as per d reviews given)
English was the simplest of all as it had questions related to PREPOSITIONS!!
Few of the questions asked in the quiz:
Total reflux ratio and its effect on distillation column
Distillation column asked in detail
Constant Numbers- Prandlt, Reynold, peclet, Nusselt, Mach No etc
Heat Exchangers, shell side, pressure drop effects on heat exchanger
venturi meter
bernoulli's equation, its applications, significance of the equation
Application of continuity equation
Dryers (around 4-5 different questions were asked)
Liquid-Liquid extraction & Solid-liquid extraction (arnd 4-5ques)
In which type of packing is max surface area available?
Humidification, Relative Humidity, dew point
Conveyors, which type is used for sand/ asphalt
rittinger's law, types of grinding
Pumps: centrifugal & reciprocating pump
Size reduction techniques
Pumps, Blowers, Valves and Compressors: different types available, its
applications, which type of a pump is more relevant in what situation..
Most of the technical questions were based on subjects MTO(25), HTO(5),
FFO(10) and MO(10)

questions apart from the questions based on the training/project

Seniors advice:

Know your training report & project very well..


Play safe, dont mention anything about the report that you dont know
because they grill you with questions based on what you have said!

least these few topics thoroughly
