on RAW image adjustments
on edit image window on displaying images and information on compatibility with EOS Viewer Utility/File Viewer Utility on printing with Easy-PhotoPrint issues
1. Notes on RAW image adjustments
================================== 1.1 Notes on click white balance When you click the [Click (RAW)] button on the main window, or click the [Click] button on the edit window or the edit image window, the image may be displayed with white balance set to [Auto]. However, if you click on this image, the click white balance will function properly. 1.2 Notes on linear processing We recommend saving your data using [TIFF 16bit] if you want to convert/save an image in which [Linear] is set for the tone curve characteristic. If such an image is saved using [Exif-TIFF 8bit] or [Exif-JPEG], the image quality may decline because the data will be an 8-bit file. 2. Notes on edit image window ============================== 2.1 Notes on printing When you select [Print], only the image which is in the image display area will be printed. To print multiple images, use the main window. 2.2 Notes on batch saving When [Batch save] is selected, all of the images shown in the thumbnail image display area will be saved in a batch. 3. Notes on displaying images and information ===================================================================
In Digital Photo Professional, no informations are displayed for
black-and-white shooting and photo effect. 4. Notes on compatibility with EOS Viewer Utility/File Viewer Utility ====================================================================== 4.1 Notes on compatibility with RAW image adjustments RAW image adjustments made in EOS Viewer Utility/ File Viewer Utility and Digital Photo Professional are not compatible with each other. 4.2 Notes on tone curve set in EOS Viewer Utility/File Viewer Utility When the tone curve adjusted with EOS Viewer Utility is set in the EOS-1D/1Ds and a photograph is taken, the resulting image will be displayed correctly in Digital Photo Professional if the RGB curves are all the same. However, if the RGB tone curves differ from each other, then the curve for Green will be applied to RGB in the displayed image. The tone curve (which is) set in the EOS-1D Mark II/1Ds Mark II with EOS Viewer Utility is not applied to Digital Photo Professional. 4.3 Notes on shooting information in images converted to TIFF format In the Digital Photo Professional shooting information display, images that were converted to or saved in [16bit/ch] TIFF or [16bit/ch linear] TIFF format using EOS Viewer Utility/File Viewer Utility may have undisplayed items or different values. When a TIFF image or JPEG image that has been converted/saved using Digital Photo Professional is displayed in EOS Viewer Utility/File Viewer Utility, only some of the shooting information is displayed. 4.4 Notes on extracting JPEG images from EOS 10D, EOS DIGITAL REBEL and EOS 300D DIGITAL When using EOS Viewer Utility 1.0 or File Viewer Utility to extract JPEG images from the above cameras, the Av and Tv values are not displayed in the shooting information in Digital Photo Professional. 5. Notes on printing with Easy-PhotoPrint ========================================== If you select multiple images in Digital Photo Professional for printing with Easy-PhotoPrint, printing may end before it is completed or blank sheets may be printed. If this happens, either reduce the number of images to be printed and try printing again, or try printing after placing a check mark next to [Spool print job page by page] in the Easy-PhotoPrint [Preferences] menu, then checking [Print directly to the printer] on the printer properties [Advanced] tab. 6. Other issues ================ 6.1 Notes on PC memory (RAM) If your PC does not have enough memory (RAM), the number of images that can be opened on the edit window may be fewer than 36. Such limitations can be overcome by increasing the amount of space allocated to virtual memory. 6.2 Notes on files and folders with extremely long names
Digital Photo Professional may not function properly
if you select or create a file or folder with an extremely long name. If this happens, shorten the file name or folder name.
