Abstract: The aim of this paper is to establish a relation between the double Laplace transform and the double Hankel transform. A
double Mellin-Hankel transform of the product of H-functions of one and two variables is then obtained. Application of our main
result and one interesting special case has also been discussed. The results obtained by us are basic in nature and are likely to find
useful applications in several fields notably Electric networks, Probability theory and Statistical mechanics.

Main Result

Theorem: If H ( p1 , p2 ) is the Double

Hankel transform and M(p1,p2) is the Double
Mellin transform of f(t1,t2), then

3.

A Double Hankel Transform

Provided, f(t1,t2) is continuous for all values of

t1 and t2, the Double Hankel transform of
|f(t1,t2)| exists and the series on the right hand
side of F(p1,p2) converges.

provided the conditions are same as that of

(3.1) with Re(p1)>0, Re(p2)>0.

Proof: To prove (3.1), applying the following

result for Bessel function

For p>0, P+n>0, substitute the Mellin-Bernes

contour integral for H [cx O y G ] on the left hand
side then interchanging the order of contour
integral and the (x,y)-integrals, finally we
arrive at our result on evaluating the (x,y)
integral by using the result (1.3).
4.

Proof
In(2.1) put
f (t1 , t2 ) H pm,,qn ct1O t2G

and use (3.1) to get

1 ( g j ,G j ) p
1 ( h j , H j )q

H at J btK

Hence H(p1 ,p2)=the right hand side of (4.1).

Application of the Main Result

If f (t1 , t2 ) H pm,,qn ct1O t2G

1 ( g j ,G j ) p
1 ( h j , H j )q

H at J , btK
;

(2.1) becomes the double Mellin-Hankel

transform of the product of H-functions of one
and two variables and takes the following
form:

(4.1)

5.

Special Case
In (4.1) take n1= p1=q1=0 to get the

double Mellin-Hankel transform of the product

of three single H-functions of Fox as:

(5.1)
provided the conditions are same as that of
(3.1) with p1=q1=0; Re(p1)>0, Re(p2)>0.
The application (4.1) is quite general in nature
and can easily yield a large number of simpler
functions and polynomials merely by specializing
the parameters of H-function; H-function of two
variables occurring in it which may find applications
in electromagnetic theory and Probability.
