Percakapan pertama tentang hobi

Di bawah ini, kami memberikan contoh dialog bahasa Inggris 4 orang yang akan
membahas mengenai hobi yang mereka miliki satu sama lain. Mereka adalah
sebuah kelompok sahabat yang sudah lama tidak bertemu dan memutuskan untuk
duduk bersama di sebuah restoran. Saat ini, mereka hadir dengan hobi baru yang
berbeda-beda.
Fadli: Hi Dina, long time no see you. You do not come together with Handi?
Dina: Yes, Im with Handi, he was buying something out there.
Handi: Fadli, how are you?
Fadli: Finally you come, Ive been waiting for a long time. Im fine, how about
you?
Handi: Im very well today and am very happy to hang out together with you. Does
Ari
have here? I havent seen it.
Fadli: Ive called him and he would come in 5 minutes.
Handi: I cannot wait to see him.
Dina: Yes, me too. He said that his business is so wonderful right now.
Fadli: So, what do you do now?
Dina: I was working at an insurance company and now Im trying a new hobby.

called Jumping Stilts and known as an extreme sport and is currently so
popular in Indonesia.
Dina: Yes, we join with community of Jumping Stilts Indonesia and practice every
week at different places. We tried this hobby because there was a friend who
was very good at doing Jumping Stilts. We were interested in, and then try it
until now. What about you? What is your new hobby?
Fadli: I have a hobby that is not far from you. It is also an extreme sport that is so
famous all over the world.
Dina: Let me guess, is it Parkour?
Fadli: No, this is a Bungee Jumping. A very extreme sport for your adrenaline.
Handi: Weve heard for a long time and really got us interested. Can you tell me
what places have you visited?
Fadli: Not many, but Im very lucky to get a chance to try the beautiful places. I
visited Bali in Indonesia. Ive also been to Colorado, USA. It is the highest
bungee jump in the world, positioned in 12 th, located not far from the Grand
Canyon National Park, USA. Has a 142m just above the Colorado River,
right in the historic Navajo Bridge. With stunning wild amazing Grand
Canyon make it a popular destination for bungee jumping.
Dina: Amazing. Your hobby is very spectacular and makes me want to try it.
Handi: Youre crazy, it was great! Hey, Ari has come.
Fadli: Ari, why you so late? You missed the story on Bungee Jumping in Colorado.
Ari: Im stuck in traffic. How are you all? Pleased to meet you. Hi Dina? Youre
here too?
Dina: Of course, were telling some of our new hobby. What about you?
Ari: Last week, I climb Semeru, and next week I wanted to Papua.
Handi: Climb Jayawijaya?

Ari: Of course, you want to come?

Fadli: Fantastic, you have a new hobby that is very interesting to try. I want to go

Teacher : Class, you all must have known what hobby is. Yes, hobby is some kind
of activity that we like to do in particular time or circumstance, for
example in our leisure times. Each of you must have different hobbies.
You can do your hobbies all the time as long as it doesnt bother your
studying times or harm others. Would you tell me what your hobbies are,
Class? How about you first, Ricky?
Ricky : Um yes Maam, my hobby is playing football. I always feel happy when
I start playing football with my friends.

Teacher : Playing football is a good hobby. Playing football can make your body
healthy. Good hobby, Ricky, just dont forget your time to study!
Okay. Now What about you, Tania? Whats your hobby?
Tania : Yes, Maam. My hobby is playing violin.
Teacher : Wow, how good are you at playing violin, Tania?

was really melodious.

hobby, Rahmat?
Rahmat : Um me, Maam? Um my hobby is collecting currencies.
Teacher: Collecting currencies?
Rahmat : Yes, Maam. I like to collect currencies of every nation. I like to collect
coins, tokens, and paper moneys. There have been some collections of
coins, tokens, and paper moneys from several nations I keep in my
bedroom. Im still trying to collect them.
Teacher : Wow, that is a quite unique hobby, Rahmat. How and where did you get
the money?
Rahmat : Some of them I got from people freely and for some others I needed to
pay for them. I usually have to buy them from internet. I used my
savings to buy them since most currencies were sold quite expensive.
Teacher : Thats a great hobby, Rahmat. But just remember; do not spend all of
your money in order to add your currency collections. Use your own
money wisely.
Rahmat : Yes, Maam.
Teacher : And. How about you, Paula?

Paula : Yes, Maam. Um. My hobby is cooking.

Teacher : Wow, cooking. What kind of food you can cook, Paula?
Paula : I can make some Indonesian foods and western foods like pastas and
pizzas.
Teacher : Wow, thats good. Who taught you to cook, Paula?
Paula : Its my mother, Maam. She is a chef.
Teacher : Oh, wow. Now we have a young chef in our class. But dont forget to
keep studying for your education, Paula.
Paula : Yes, of course, Maam.

: Hi Erna, why do you collect many stamps?
Erna
: Ohh. Hi Arya. I am collecting the stamps for my collection.

: Yes, actually my hobby is collecting stamps.

: Why do you like collecting stamps?

: Because I like to see the unique pictures of the stamps. How about you,

: Hmm I think I dont have hobby. Should we have a hobby?
Erna
: Not really. But in our lives we must have something we like most which
is called hobby.

: So, hobby is a pleasure. Then, I think I have a hobby now.
Erna
: Of course, so what is your hobby?
Arya
: I like to read comics especially detective Conan.
Erna : That is your hobby. Reading comic. Do you have all of detective Conans
collection?
Arya
: Yes, I do. I even go to the black market because the original comics have
not yet been published. How about your stamps collection?
Erna
: So far I have collected stamps from some countries but I still should find
other stamps.
Arya
: Do you need much money for your hobby?
Erna
: Yes of course I need much money because I order the stamps so it costs
little bit expensive.
