Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barkatuh!

 Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (May ALLAH be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of ALLAH (Salle ALLAH alaihi wa’sallam)
made many supplications which we did not memorize.
We said to him:
"O Messenger of ALLAH! (Salle ALLAH alaihi wa’sallam)
You have made many supplications
of which we do not remember anything.''

The Messenger of ALLAH (Salle ALLAH alaihi wa’sallam) said,

"Should I not show you such a comprehensive dua’a

that includes all dua’as?
Say,

Allahumma inni asaluka min khairi ma saalaka minhu

nabiyyuka Muhammadun sale ALLAH ta’ala alaihi wa aalehi
wa’sallam, wa a’oozubika min sharri mastaza minhu
nabiyyuka
Muhammadun sale ALLAH ta’ala alaihi wa aalehi wa’sallam
antal musta’an wa alaikul balaghu

 wa lahaula wa laquwwata illa billah.
(O ALLAH, I beg to You the good which Your Prophet Muhammad
(Salle ALLAH alaihi wa’sallam) begged of You; and I seek refuge in YOU from
the evil where from YOUR Prophet Muhammad (Salle ALLAH alaihi
wa’sallam) sought refuge. YOU are the ONE from WHOM help is sought and
YOUR is the responsibility to communicate (the truth). There is no power or
strength except with ALLAH the Exalted, the Great.'''

[At-Tirmidhi]

Commentary:
For those who do not remember many prayers, or cannot remember them,
this is the best supplication to make. This shows part of ALLAH (Subhanahu wa
ta’ala)'s Mercy upon his slaves and part of the easiness of practising Islam.

Please do remember me, my family and in particular to my beloved

eldest son Mohammed Baseer Ahsan Junaid in your Prayers, who
passed away on 23rd Ramadan Ul Mubarak 1429 Hijrah, corresponding to
24th September 2008, at the age of 22 Years, 3 Months and 6 Days.
