After Adam had sinned, what statement

did God pronounce to him? Where will he
go? Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou
return. Genesis 3:19. So, at death, A LIVING
SOUL - BREATH OF LIFE = DUST. Notice
that death is the reverse of the formula of God
in creation.
4. What is another Biblical term for the
breath of life? The body without the spirit
is dead. James 2:26. The spirit of God is in
my nostrils. Job 27:3. So, the breath and the
spirit are the same.
5. Now, what happens to the breath of life (or
spirit)? Where will it go? Then shall the dust
return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall
return to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7.

Note: The spirit mentioned here does
not refer to evil spirits (bad or fallen angels),
neither to the ministering spirits (loyal &
angels of heaven). The word spirit has
several meanings, but in here it refers to the
breath of life (as quoted & explained earlier)
which God gave us. The spirit or breath
of life as used here, literally denotes merely
a life-giving agent a power that vivifies an
inanimate thing and not a conscious being.
6. So, what do the dead feel and know?
Can he still praise God? His breath goeth
forth: in that very day his thoughts perish.
Psalm 146:4. The dead know not any thing.
Their love and their hatred and their envy is
now perished. There is no work, nor device,
nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave.
Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10. The dead praise not
the Lord. Psalm 115:17. In death there is no
remembrance of Thee (God). Psalm 6:5.
7. But dont the righteous go straight to
heaven, and the wicked to hell? Peter speaking
through the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost,
said: Men and brethren let me freely speak
unto you of the patriarch David that he is both
dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us
unto this day. For David is not [yet] ascended
into heavens. Acts 2:29,34. The heavens and
the earth, which are now, by the same word, are
kept in store, reserved unto fire against the Day
of Judgment, and perdition of ungodly men. 2
Peter 3:7.
Note: We commonly associate hell as another
dimension, world or place where fire devours
all who are fallen there. But this belief cannot
be found in the entire Bible. We can trace
this belief in the mythologies of old (e.g. the

underworld, the dark world, Pluto, etc.). Notice

the above verse that the earth is kept in store,
reserved unto fire against the Day of Judgment,
and perdition of ungodly men. In here it is clear
that hell is described, not as another place but, as
a time in the future wherein the earth, together
with the ungodly men, will be consumed by
fire.
8. Can we receive the reward or punishment
immediately after our death? The answer is
NO. He hath appointed a day, in which He will
judge the world in righteousness by that Man
(Jesus) whom He hath ordained. Acts 17:31. Jude
refers to the same period: The angels which kept
not their first state, but left their own habitation,
He hath reserved in everlasting chains under
darkness unto the Judgment of the great day.
Behold the Lord cometh with ten thousands of
His saints, to execute judgment upon all. Jude
6,14,15. John declares that he saw the dead,
small and great, stand before God, and the books
were opened; and the dead were judged out of
those things which were written in the books.
Revelation 20:12.
9. Is there hope after we die? YES, For
God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him
should not perish but have everlasting life. John
3:16. For since by man came death even so
in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians
15:21,22.
10. What two classes will be resurrected?
When and how? There shall be a resurrection
of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.
Acts 24:15. Note: The just will be resurrected
first. For the Lord Himself shall descend from
heaven and the dead in Christ (or the just)
shall rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:16. And they
(the just or the righteous) lived and reigned with
Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead
(referring to the unjust or the wicked) live not
again until the thousand years were finished.
Revelation 20:4,5.
Note: The ones who were not included in the
1st resurrection will automatically be numbered
in the 2nd resurrection. The former will enjoy
eternal life in the new heavens and the new
earth with the Father, Christ and the angels; the
latter will be consumed in the hell fire. So strive
to get heaven! This is the purpose of life here.
11. How long will the righteous live? Neither
can they die anymore: for they are equal unto the
angels; and are the children of God, being the

children of the resurrection. Luke 20:36. There

shall be no more death. Revelation 21:4.
Note: After the earth has been cleansed by fire
from the defilement of sin and the sinners, God
will make this earth a new heaven and earth.
New heaven, for God will live with us; new earth,
for it will be a place for the redeemed ones, now
immortal. Oh! What a precious promise. What a
wonderful place!
12. What is this first mammoth deception the
original great lie which the serpent (Satan)
declared to Eve? He said she wouldnt die. This
statement, Ye shall not surely die, (Genesis
3:4) is the cornerstone of Satans kingdom! Satan
has worked great miracles through the ages by
people who claimed to receive their power
from the dead. Such as: the Magicians of Egypt
(Exodus 7:11); the Witch of Endor (1 Samuel
28); Sorcerers (Daniel 2:2); a certain damsel
(Acts 16:16-18). Satan works powerfully today
through religious leaders to deceive, if it were
possible, the very elect by saying, the dead are
alive (conscious), man will not surely die.
13. So who are those who visited us or perform
spiritual manifestation (paramdam)? Are they
our departed ones? No, they are not. They are
the spirits of devils working miracles and
deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the
means of those miracles. Revelation 16:14;
13:14. Furthermore they are they whom Christ
says, shall show great signs and wonders:
insomuch that if it were possible, they shall
deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24. But
there be some that trouble you, and would pervert
the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel
from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you
than that which we have preached unto you, let
him be accursed. Galatians 1:7-8. Be careful of
those who perform miracles (healing or anything
unusual) for Satan and his angels can do it also.
Miracles are not a basis alone if the performer is
from God.
14. How can Gods people avoid being
deceived? They received the Word with all
readiness of mind, and search the Scriptures
daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11.
To the law and to the testimony: if the speak not
according to this word, it is because there is no
light in them. Isaiah 8:20. Only those who speak
things in harmony with the Ten Commandments,
the Bible, and the Testimonies can we be safe,
whether they perform miracles or not.

SPIRITUALISM*

The doctrine of mans consciousness

in death, especially the belief that spirits of
the dead return to minister to the living, has
prepared the way for modern spiritualism.
(GC 551)
Lets have a short background of who
Satan was?
Lucifer the light-bearer, who after
sinning called Satan the Adversary was
created perfect and holy. He was the chief
among the angels, next in rank to Christ, the
Son of God. But, Lucifer later became envious
to Christ for he was not permitted to share and
know Gods purposes and plans, for it was a
prerogative alone to Christ, Gods Son. (EW
145) As a result, There was war in heaven:
Michael (Christ) and His angels fought against
the dragon; and the dragon fought and his
angels, and prevailed not; neither was their
place found any more in heaven. And the great
dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the
Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole
world: he was cast out into the earth, and his
angels were cast out with him. Revelation
12:7-9. (See also Isaiah 14:12-14)

Knowing this, Satan, together with his
angels, though fallen is still an angel, powerful
since his fall. As he can heal the sick, work
miracles, he has also power to bring before us
the appearance of forms purporting to be our
relatives or friends. And it will be made to
appear as if these friends were actually present,
the words they uttered while here, with which
we were familiar, will be spoken, and the same
tone of voice that they had while living will fall

upon the ear. All this is to deceive the world and

ensnare them into the belief of this delusion.
(EW 87)

When they have been led to believe
that the dead actually return to communicate
with them, Satan causes those to appear who
went into the grave unprepared. They claim to
be happy in Heaven and even to occupy exalted
positions there; and thus the error is widely
taught, that no difference is made between
the righteous and the wicked. The pretended
visitants from the world of spirits sometimes
utter cautions and warnings which prove to be
correct. Then, as confidence is gained, they
present doctrines which directly undermine
faith in the scripture. With an appearance of
deep interest in the well-being of their friends
on earth, they insinuate the most dangerous
errors. The fact that they state some truths, and
are able at times to foretell future events, gives
to their statements an appearance of reliability,
and their false teachings are accepted by the
multitudes as readily, and believed as implicitly,
as if they were the most sacred truths in the
Bible. The law of God is set aside, the Spirit
of grace despised, the blood of the covenant
counted an unholy thing. The spirits deny the
divinity of Christ, and place even the Creator
on a level with themselves. Thus under a new
disguise the great rebel still carries forward his
warfare against God, begun in Heaven, and for
about six thousand years, continued upon this
earth. (DD 19)

Many endeavor to account for spiritual
manifestations by attributing them wholly to
fraud and sleight of hand on the part of the
medium. But while it is true that the results
of trickery have often been palmed off as
genuine manifestations, there have been also,
marked exhibitions of Supernatural power.
The mysterious rapping with which modern
Spiritualism began was not the result of human
trickery or cunning, but the direct work of
evil angels, who thus introduced one of the
most successful of soul-destroying delusions.
Many will be ensnared through the belief that
Spiritualism is a merely human imposture;
when brought face to face with manifestations
which they cannot but regard as supernatural,
they will be deceived, and will be led to accept
them as the great power of God.

These persons overlook the testimony

of the Scriptures concerning the wonders

wrought by Satan and his agents. It was by
Satanic aid that Pharaohs magicians were
enabled to counterfeit the work of God (when
Moses threw his rod and became a snake). The
apostle John, describing the miracle-working
power that will be manifested in the last days,
declares: He doeth great wonders, so that he
maketh fire come down from heaven on the
earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them
that dwell on the earth by the means of those
miracles which he had power to do. Revelation
13:13,14. No mere impostures are here brought
to view. Men are deceived by the miracles which
Satans agents have power to do, not which they
pretend to do. (GC 553)

The very name of witchcraft is now
held in contempt. The claim that men can hold
intercourse with evil spirits is regarded as a
fable of the Dark Ages. But Spiritualism, which
numbers its converts by hundreds of thousands,
yea by millions, which has made its way into
scientific circles, which has invaded churches,
and has found favor in legislative bodies, and
even in the courts of kings this mammoth
deception is but a revival in a new disguise of
the witchcraft condemned and prohibited of
old. (4SP 372)

But none need be deceived by the lying
claims of Spiritualism. God has given the world
sufficient light to enable them to discover the
snare. (DD 20). The fact that Satan claims that
one whom he loved so well, and who hated God
so perfectly, is now with the holy apostles and
angels in glory, should be enough to remove the
veil from all minds and discover to them the dark,
mysterious works of Satan. He virtually says to
the world and infidels, No matter how wicked
you are, no matter you believe or disbelieve in
God or in the Bible, live as you please, heaven is
your home. This is so glaring, so clear that all
may see if they will. (EW 91)

Moreover, the apostles, as personated by
these lying spirits, are made to contradict what
they wrote at the dictation of the Holy Spirit
when on earth. They deny the divine origin of
the Bible, and thus tear away the foundation of
the Christians hope, and put out the light that
reveals the way to Heaven. (LDE 157)

Satan is making the world believe that
the Bible is a mere fiction, or at least a book
suited to the infancy of the race, but now to be

lightly regarded, or cast as obsolete. And to take

the place of the Word of God he holds out spiritual
manifestations. Here is a channel wholly under
his control; by this means he can make the world
believe what he will. The Book that is to judge
him and his followers he puts into the shade, just
where he wants it; the Savior of the world he
makes to be no more than a common man. After
thus seeking to put Jesus in the background, they
call attention to their own miracles, declaring
that these far exceed the works of Christ. (GC
557)

Those who would stand in this time
of peril must understand the testimony of the
Scriptures concerning the nature of man and the
state of the dead; for in the near future many will
be confronted by the spirits of devils personating
beloved friends or relatives, and declaring the
most dangerous heresies. These visitants will
appeal to our tender sympathies, and work
miracles to sustain their pretensions. We must be
prepared to withstand them with the Bible truth
that the dead know not anything, and that they
who thus appear are the spirits of devils. (4SP
377)

Just before us is the hour of temptation,
which shall come upon all the world, to try them
that dwell upon the earth. Revelation 3:10. All
whose faith is not firmly established upon the
Word of God will be deceived and overcome.
But to those who earnestly seek knowledge of the
truth, thus doing what they can to prepare for the
conflict, God has a promise for them: because
thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also
will keep thee. He would sooner send every
angel out of heaven to protect His people, than
leave one soul that trusts in Him to be overcome
by Satan. (GC 560)

DEATH IS A MYSTERY

From the earliest times, man has
wondered, What comes after death? Efforts
made to lift the veil that surrounds death have
resulted in varying opinions, from the most
primitive representations of heathenism to the
later theories of the theologians and the modern
doctrine of Spiritualism.

In all mans speculations regarding
death, the idea of the natural immortality of
soul (or the belief in a conscious existence
immediately after death) plays an important
role. In reality, however, the only true source of
information about what takes place when man
dies is the Bible.
BIBLICAL FACTS
1. Man is mortal, or subject to death. Shall
mortal man be more just than God? Job 4:17.
2. Contrary to common belief, only God is
immortal, or not subject to death. Now unto
the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only
wise God, be honour and glory for ever and
ever. 1 Timothy 1:17
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH ABOUT
DEATH
1. How did human life begin on earth? God
formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and
man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7. So,
at creation, DUST + BREATH OF LIFE = A
LIVING SOUL.
2. What Gods sacred command did the first
pair in Eden transgress, which lead them to
die, or become mortal? In the day that ye eat
(of the forbidden fruit) thereof, ye shall surely
die (be mortal). Genesis 2:17.
