ABSTRACT
The project revolves around designing an Adaptive Fitness and Meditation with the main focus being maintaining healthy lifestyle
through an android application. High Intensity Interval Training is the health solution to fast paced life. We are so much busy with
our daily life that taking care of health is neglected. This lead to series of serious illness and disease. Study have shown the health
benefit of regular exercise which is known to everyone. The hectic and fast paced life of this generation has made our prone to
problems. Obesity, blood pressure, diabetes being the most common. HIIT was invented with aim to solve this problem. It gives our
fast paced generation a way to minimize the time required to work out and gain the maximum benefit. Just working for seven
minutes can have serious health benefits.

1. RELATED WORK
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FITNESS AND SPORT, TOKYO
They made research on the efficiency of interval training. The procedure involved of 20 seconds of extreme intensity
exercise trailed by 10 seconds of break in 8 cycles. After 8 weeks of such schedule, the anaerobic capacity was improved by
28%, whereas the VO2 maximum was improved by 14%
University of Montreal
University has revealed that a 15 second interval of intensive workout is best for the improvement of maximum oxygen
capacity in patients with coronary artery disease. HIIT is much enhanced than the old-style aerobic workout without regular
changes, because when performed correctly HIIT training fetches about the method recognized as EPOC (Excess Post
Exercise Oxygen Consumption), which means an improved oxygen consumption after the training.
HIIT is a kind of training in which breaks of maximum intensity swap repeatedly with intervals of moderate or lower
intensity.

2. INTRODUCTION
HIIT stands for High Intensity Training. An intensity can be well-defined as a measurement of prompt ability to do an
exercise. It is neither the measurement of maximum weight that can be lifted, nor the weight that is lifted that matters, but
an individual feeling of exertion while doing an exercise. The foremost indication of HIIT was totally conflicting to the
ideas of mainstream of old-style bodybuilding trainings which are very general. Instead of full capacity, variety of
movements and numerous schemes of reiteration and circuits, HIT promotes an intensity as a foundation of achieving new
great excellence. The prime ideologies of HIT are: spirited exercise, short-term exercise, uncommon exercises and safe
training.
For top training results adjustment of interval should be in the proportion of 1:3 (high / low). Obviously, one should always

AHIIT application using Android: There are few already existing apps which guides user about exercise but they lack
flexibility and adaptability. This applications have a predefined set of exercises in their database and trainings are carried
out with them. These applications do not consider personal health goals and priorities but provide a general schedule to
everyone. The research of HIIT has shown that we can bring a good mix of adaptability and flexibility in those apps to
achieve best results. So here we aim at developing application which is Adaptive The application will take users health
goals as an input and the specially designed exercise circuit for those goals will be an output. An application will keep track

of users daily app usage and intelligently suggest user to achieve health goals. These suggested exercise circuits are meant
to be safe and flexible. They make use of common utilities at home like chair, wall and body weight as resistance.
adaptiveness and simplicity of application will make exercise and meditation habitual to user.
The application and output will be developed for Android mobile devices.
System Architecture and Working
The System architecture shown in fig. 1 show the actual working and interaction of system modules. The application will be
installed on Android device and will be used as users intelligent personal fitness trainer.

Figure 1 System Architecture

System architecture depicts that health goals and application usage history is consumed as an input to the database. This
database is frequently mined to observe and extract interesting patterns from user activities. Workout scheduler module is
the heart of this application which will make use of knowledge obtained from database, user customizations and HIIT
research outcomes to design training circuit for best results.
The main modules of the application of the application are listed as follows:
1) Workout: It provides the interface for all the workout created for an individual. They will contain 7 exercise at any
given time. The database of exercises will be large and they would be tailored according to the need of the user on daily
basis.
2) Mediate: Bringing the functionality of a meditation application into the workout app. The 2 screens are basically the
default activity and the activity when meditation has started.
3) Track: Gives user details about his workout history. This data would be used locally to mine users Moment of Exercise
i.e. when is the user most likely to do the exercise.
Customize: Customization options like turn on/off adaptive mode. They can set default number of circuits they want each
day. He can even select his area of focus like Core, Arms, Legs, etc. He can also select goals like weight gain, weight loss,
cardio, strength, etc. This feature in turn will determine what exercises are available to the user.

3. TABATA METHOD
Tabata Method: Tabata method is the basic algorithm will be used to incorporate HIIT training methods with Android
application. Because of its high intensity Tabata is also known as supra aerobic cardio. Those who had opportunity to use
Tabata accepted its greatness for high intensity cardio. Tabata is the most effective HIIT method. Also it has the most
efficient interval training. Dr. Izumi Tabata from the National Institute of Fitness and Sports, Tokyo has invented Tabata
method.
The original method was designed for 5 minutes but application is designed for 7 minutes considering user capabilities are
more than 5 minutes.

4. ADVANTAGES OF ADAPTIVE TECHNIQUES AND USE OF HIIT IN FITNESS APPLICATION

1. It is intelligent and records users most frequent workout time and inspire him to do it. (Artificial Intelligence, Mining)
2. It makes regime flexible by asking user for his area of focus, thus generating random routines with maximum benefits.
(Adaptive and use of highly recommended HIIT)
3. 7 Min meditation regime is included in this application, as there are no applications which focuses on mind and body
together.
4. Ability to share users status on Facebook and social media. (Very trending)
5. There are also minute feature like reward points and Level up! (Keeps user motivated)

5. Future Scope
Now AHIIT is designed only for exercise and meditation. It can be improved further with more advanced AI (Artificial
Intelligence) and Data Mining techniques. It can be extended to add features like dietary schedule, weight exercises by
analyzing tracks and personal goals.
Also, AHIIT can be extended to other operating systems and platforms.

6. Conclusion
AHIIT application will help to fitness enthusiasts and sports folks. It is easy to carry out an efficient training in a safe and
proficient way without troubling the growth of motor capacities and sports practices on the go with this application. While
the trainings can be altered and adapted with AI (Artificial Intelligence) techniques, it is vital that they are prepared
technically right. Also, one must be very cautious when programming the capacity. AHIIT application prearranged in this
way may be a constructive factor of physical and mental training of fitness fans and sports folks no matter whether an
overall or a specific physical training is in question.
