INTRODUCTION:

Thisprocessinvolves,takingtheuserscredentialsasaninput,convertthemintoarecognizableformat
foradigitalsystemandstoringthemagainsttherespectiveusersprofileinthedatabase.

ForaccessingCOSECsystem,ausermayusethreedifferenttypesofassignedcredentialsviz.fingerprint
,RFID(RadioFrequencyIdentification)cardandPIN(PersonalIdentificationNumber).

BeforetheEnrollmentprocess,auserprofileistobecreatedintheCOSECsystemdatabase.Here,every
userisgivenaspecificIDthroughwhichthesystemidentifiestheuser.
OncetheUserProfileiscreated,specificdevicesconnectedinthenetworkareassignedtotheuserfor
accessor/andregistrationforattendance.

PREREQUISITES OF FINGER ENROLLMENT:

Biometriccredentialsaregenerallysensitivetotheenvironmentaleffectsandotherbodilychanges;soit
becomes necessary to take proper precautions while enrolling them, as this one time process is
responsibletoidentifytheuserthroughoutsuccessfully.
IncaseofCOSECsystem,theusermayusefingerprintasthebiometriccredential.
Whileenrollingfingerprints,itshouldbeensuredthatthefingerrestsonthescannerinaproperfashion
,withsuitablealignment.Moreover,onlyahealthyfingershouldbeenrolled.

Navigating to the Enrollment section here, leads to a web page, wherein, System Administrator may
specifytheconcernedparametersandsendsanEnrollmentcommandtothedevicesscannerwhichin
turn prompts the user to place the finger; thereby, completing the Enrollment of required number of
fingerprintsofaparticularuser.

ENROLLMENT THROUGH DOOR CONTROLLER:
COSEC system also offers an option to enroll the user directly from the device (Door Controller) by
navigatingthroughthemenuoptionsavailableincaseofpremiummodels(withaLCDpanel).

ENROLLMENT THROUGH COSEC ENROLLMENT STATION :
COSEC system offers a separate utility named COSEC ENROLL that enables System Administrator to
enroll the user directly from a desktop station constituting corresponding readers connected with the
localterminal(desktopcomputer).
Thisutilityofferssomeadvantagesoverothermethodsintermsofensuringthefingerprintqualitywith
thevisualobservanceofthefingerprintimage.

CONCLUSION:
Observingalltheabovemethods,SystemAdministratormayfindthemostsuitablewayofEnrollmentin
termsoftheircomparativeadvantages.
Forinstance,inasituationofremote connectivity between thedeviceandthewebserver,itis much
easiertoenrollauserormultipleusersdirectlyfromthedoorcontrollerdeviceratherthanfollowinga
