Analysis

In our experiment about Magnetic Fields and Magnetic Force, we mainly focused on the magnetic
field lines and magnetic force. Magnetic fields are lines which are invisible but can be observed using iron
fillings which we performed on the part 1 of our experiment about magnetic field of permanent magnets.
Magnetic field is a region around a magnet. These are like continuous path that flows through north pole
and enters the south pole. Based on the result of our experiment magnetic fields were observed by the iron
fillings showing the magnetic field of lines.
On the part 2 of the experiment in table A about magnetic force and magnetic field, we observed
that as we increase the number of magnets the magnetic force also increases. This shows the relationship
that magnetic field is directly proportional to the magnetic force. Thus we could relate this to the theory of
magnetic force which states that as a charge q enters a magnetic force is exerted upon it giving the
equation F=qv x B.
On the table B which is about Magnetic force and current. This table shows how current is related
to the magnetic force and the data shows that as we increase the amount of current flow. The magnetic
force also goes up. Creating a relationship which shows direct proportionality, this happens because as the
charge moves in an electric field it creates an electrostatic force.
On the Table C which is about Magnetic force and length of current loop. The results gathered
shows that at length 2.2cm the magnetic force in Newton is 2.9x10^-3 N and at length 3.2 cm the magnetic
force in Newton is 3.92x10^-3 N. This shows that as we increase the length of the loop the magnetic force
also increases. The length of the loop is directly proportional to the magnetic force. This can be proven by
the equation F= ILB sin which show the proportionality of length and magnetic force.
On the Last table of experiment about the magnetic force and orientation of coil it shows that the
orientation of the coil could greatly affect the magnetic force. The table shows the relation of the angle to
the magnetic force. In this experiment we increased the values of . As we increase the values of angle
the magnetic force also increases. We have known based on the equation F=ILB sin that at sin 0 the
value of magnetic force would be zero and at sin 90 the value would be at maximum because the current is
perpendicular to the magnetic field thus the orientation of the coil also affects the direction of magnetic
force but not the magnitude
After the experiment, we found and observed some errors in our experiment. In table A of part 2 we
observed that when the table is being moved the calibration of the weighing balance is interfered which
means the weighing balance is so much sensitive even air can affect the accuracy of the balance. The
others can be caused by human error for example forgetting to press the TARE button before conducting
the experiment. These are all the errors observed in the experiment.

Conclusion
After the experiment objectives were met. We are able to study the nature of magnetic fields
around magnetic poles. We observed that the magnetic field of lines creates a loop form North pole going
to the south pole. Based on the movement of magnetic field lines we proved that same poles repel each
other and unlike poles attract each other. The second objective was also met. We determined the
magnitude of magnetic force on a current carrying wire. We obtain the magnitude by multiplying the
magnetic force in gram converting it to kilogram then multiplying to the gravitational force. The Last
objective was met. We are able to study the relationship of magnetic force and magnetic field, current,
length and orientation of current carrying wire. We observed that the magnetic force is directly proportional
to the magnetic field, current, length and orientation of current carrying wire.
A magnetic field is produced when electrons or electric current flows through a conductor or through a wire.
Electric currents produces magnetic field. Magnetic field of lines is produced in this manner. In the part A of
our experiment we could see that magnetic fields of lines does not intersect and we could say that
magnetic field of lines has no end it just flows through its path continuously which points away from north
and then going to the south. Magnetic force can be defined as F=qv xB sin . Magnetic force are the force
caused by magnets, the force that comes out on when a current is flowing on a wire or conductor. The
equation used is F= ILB sin which is derived from Lorentz force F= q(E+v x B).
The theories involved greatly helps in conducting the experiment because we can check if the data
and results have background theories or if the data are logical. Magnets are widely used in our daily life.
The electric fan which uses electric motors are made possible by magnets. They are also used in speakers
which can convert the electrical energy into sound energy. They are used in TV screens, computer screens,
telephones and in tape recorders. Basically every gadget that we have generally have magnets.
