To Thee I Give My Glory

4
I have written this volume of poetry to the glory of God and for the delight of my
family. I will here thank God for His ever abundant mercy first in my salvation,
next in my regeneration, and finally for the talents with which I have been
entrusted. For all this I give God Almighty His rightful glory; Sola Deo Gloria. I
also thank my family for their ever encouraging me in this art. I thank my Mother
for thirteen years of home educating me. I thank my Dad for his ever diligent
“training [me] up in the way [I] should go.” I thank my younger siblings for their
ever and overwhelming inspiration. And I especially thank my brother/best friend
for encouraging me and helping me compile this volume. I also thank my beloved
Sovereign, the Triune God, for the venerable dead who ever encourage me and
inspire me. To God be the glory and the praise, Amen.

My King

Holy is Thy Name,

King of all the earth.
He that stays the same,
King from virgin birth.

Wiping away tears,

With Loving Hand.
Driving away all fears,
In justice He does stand.

He is Good and Love,

He is caring and kind.
Like the turtle dove,
He leaves us not behind.

The Christ, my King,

Savior of my life.
Your praise I sing,
Driving away all strife.

To Begin

8
Love
What is love? A fleeting feeling?
An emotion of passion or liking?
Does it first come when first seeing?
Is it full of joy? Is it striking?

Or is it a beast, wishing to devour?

Consuming any and all, near or far.
Sparing none who run or cower.
Blinding and strong, as a distant star.

Nay, I say, love is not one of these.

Few know it, few will ever find it.
Love is as gentle as a summer breeze.
Love is as fire, warm only when lit.

To love is to give and not to take.

It is patient in perfect waiting.
Merciful Love is for mankind’s sake.
It is kind in all of its making.

Love is strong and un-shaking.

It will not break in time or trouble.
Love is merciful to the undeserving.
It will show kindness to the sinner.

He, who is Love, loves His chosen all.

He who made star in sky.
Love, He showed to man after fall.
I accept His love in joyful cry.

He came and died, now full of life.

He displayed perfect love,
Dispelling evil, sin, and strife.
Christ came from heaven above.

9
Beauty
Where does beauty lie?
Who might be judge of it?
Who can say her beauty is high?
Where is the beauty light?

Is it found in earthly flesh?

Are lustful eyes fit to see?
Does beauty not fade into ash?
Is beauty for all and free?

No, beauty not found without,

One must perceive the depths.
Beauty might be in the stout,
Or of the short, Or within deaths.

For beauty lies within the soul,

Find it with heart of love.
This beauty is made whole,
With love of Christ above.

Beauty is not of flesh seen,

For the wicked eye to gaze upon,
But rather, of the heart unseen;
The light of Christian dawn.

1
One of These

Liken me unto one of these,

O King, of the Innocence.
Greater than the seven seas,
Are the children of Innocence.

Beauty greater than canvas of painter,

Their laughter more soothing,
Than rhythm of the composer.
Their continence is loving and pleasing.

Their small voices sweeter,

Than words of poet penned.
Their small, dirty faces are neater,
Than clean, shaven faces of gentlemen.

The wonderful, beautiful children,

Spirit so high and heart of love.
No song can display, in note or pen,
Their perfect love form above.

O Jesus, King of the Pure,

Liken my heart unto the Child.
So carefree, yet so Sure,
Love is not, by sin, defiled.

I remember, for Pity’s please,

Your sacrifice in recompense.
Liken me unto one of these,
O King, of Innocence.

1
Beacon
The dawn is faded.
The light is lost,
In impenetrable frost.

Yet Your beacon shines,

Through darkened night,
Spreading a holy light.

Your breathtaking signs,

So reverent, So bright.
Shining from greatest height.

Brighten this dark world,

Give eternal life,
End mortal strife.

You have saved me,

At Your pace,
With wondrous grace.

1
That burden of sin I bore
Under which I didst implore,
“Lord let me live again
In Thy Love void of sin.
Please, to Thee, my soul restore.”

Though then I didst not know

Upon me God’s Grace did flow,
Laid down for me ere I cried,
In despair of sin despised.
Purity covers me in Christ’s Blood flow.

The joy that swelled my heart,

Uplifted to God I didst impart.
Life and Love filled mine soul
In Holiness, made me whole.
Praises lift I on high to Him who didst thereto depart.

Totally Deprived was I.

Yet, for His own, Christ didst die.
Under His Unconditional Election,
God wholly chose me to salvation.
Limited was His Atonement, for not all were forgiven,
As Christ’s Blood was spilt for only His chosen
I thank God for Irresistible Grace,
Else ne’er, before Him, would I have a place.
Praise to God for Perseverance of the Saints
As He fails me not for my own faints.

Of Doves

1
HOPE
At an hour when mine heart was dim,
And mine thoughts grim,
Emily’s bird perched upon a tree,
Who cocked his head and said to me:

“There is beauty still in the earth,

Though it be laden with sin.
Down cast hearts still sing in mirth,
Whilst joy and love resideth within.

“Look upon what the Lord hath made.

Will He not care for even His smallest make?
Though all the world be sad and grayed,
Will He not preserve man for God’s Glory sake?

“Hath He not fed me?

Does He not adorn the flower?
Does He not provide the mighty tree,
With morning sun and evening shower?

“Will He not then also care for thee,

In thy hour dire?
Are His not more precious than this tree,
Fashioned in His desire?”

Then with eyes dim,

I looked to Him.
Only then could I see,
God’s Golden Glory.

Hope was given to hearts hurting,

Whilst strength expelled fear.
The despondent began to sing,
Whilst Christ wiped away every tear.

1
Praise from a Saint
I beheld Christ upon that tree,
Whereupon I ought to be.
I beheld my suffering King,
On my cross, dieing.

On my hands did I behold

His Divine, Holy Blood.
And mine garments of soot
Were made clean as white.

Yet the grave sealed not Christ’s story

For death hath no grip on Him Holy.
And, as my sin didst burry Him,
So God’s Holiness rose Him!

1
Mercy
Christian Soldier am I,
May sin sway me not.
Enemy’s tricks so sly,
Temptation have I fought.

Under mine own strength,

Have I failed miserably.
I call at long length,
Upon God, who set me free.

In Christ, Love abideth,

For that, am I forever forgiven.
Follow me not, shadow of death,
I suffer not cravings of sin.

To Triune God I doth plea,

Fill my weak soul with Holy breath.
Let the Holy Spirit abide in me,
Holy purity I craveth.

Your Love have I sought,

For this alone, do I cry.
My freedom you have bought,
This I accept with a grateful sigh.

1
Paths Eternal
Why is darkened path,
By evil hand wrought,
Winding hate and wrath,
Full of fell thought,

So easy to travel?
Far from light so holy,
Within evil’s marvel.
Satin’s trick on me.

The mountain’s highway

Is difficult and steep
For wandering soul of gray,
Leading to celestial keep.

Narrow is the way

For my wavering stride,
Satin’s temptation do slay,
Now I must decide.

I have set my path before me,

In holy council I abide,
My faith is in immortal Three,
On eternal wings I ride.

Dark and evil temptation flee,

Heaven’s Highway have I chosen.
From sin and death I am free,
For Christ I have chosen.

1
Day of Glory
Do I live in day of glory?
When brave men are needed,
Remembered in song and story.

Does the day grow dark?

Is the light dim and cold?
No more song of morning lark.

Am I strong in dark of evil,

Standing firm in spite of sin?
Or am I weak and feeble?

If sun sets or is on rise,

I will stand by the Maker.
Despite enemy number or size.

May the Lord be with you,

As He is with me.
For this assault new.

Though the hour be late,

And all light be dim.
I must face my given fate.

The Maker is with me.

Though whispers be poison,
I will stand firm and not flee.

1
The Order of Things
Am I as chipper
As the noon day sun?
Am I as dapper
As midsummer’s spring?
Canst thou harken
Winter’s seething?
Is not doom
Soon to ensue?

Though death draweth nigh,

I look on high
To mine Sovereign
With constitution graven
Yet faith unshaken.

2
Keep His Holiness
Within this sanctuary,
All is peaceful, all is calm.
We worship and serve Thee,
With song, praise, and psalm.

But upon field of battle,

We struggle and fail.
We are slaughtered like cattle,
With bashed and broken mail.

What can we do in time of trial

To keep our eyes upon the Lord?
How do we keep that which is vile
From eyes gashed by evil sword?

We must lift downcast eyes

To behold Holy Righteousness.
Christ will save us from evil lies
We must keep His holiness.

2
The Great War
A battle is now waged,
Unseen by annals of time.
Long has it ever raged,
Clatter of war doth chime.

In deep and dark lands,

Two great armies contest.
Beheld not by mortal hands,
Are eternal weapons of unrest.

Good and Evil engage,

In bitter embattlement.
Fighting, lasting many an age,
Casualties to both sides lent.

Long is the war of Spirit,

Battles are won or lost.
Bombardment upon both is hit,
Armies cease not for heat or frost.

Though battles have long last,

The Light has since won.
Though has been cast,
Beaten is it by rising Son.

Engagements are still beset,

Within Christian soul and thought.
With victory they must be met,
Despite how vicious it is fought.

2
Remember And Repent
All give ear to this story of mine,
Let ring in thine ears the battle’s chime.
May my hope be unto you a sign,
Forgiven you may be for your crime.

The red sunset shines over a field of glory,

With rays of red roaming over fields forgotten.
Let not the annals of time forget this story,
When two armies met on a field not oft trodden.

Battle raged not for land or riches,

Strategists sought my body and soul.
The grave was dug to serve the trenches,
To cast me into a deep and dark hole.

Though battle be gory,

And breached be defenses,
I recalled, though poorly,
The greatest of Princes.

I cried unto Him to save my soul,

And Jesus came to aid my senses.
He delivered me and made me whole.
The heathen hoards of hell He quenches.

All of you embattled, request the Lord’s pardon,

All your trials and terrors shall end in glory.
Sins are forever forgiven and forgotten,
By Him Who shall gladly forgive your history.

Call on Him those who should fear their crime.

In you, His light would forever shine,
Forgotten would be sins for all time.
Repent to the One Good God Divine.

2
Trust
Trust God Almighty,
For you, His children,
He provides for thee,
Caring for needs within.

He gives thee aid,

For thine needs open.
With blood He paid,
For thine sins hidden.

Now repent of your sin,

That you might be free.
Over death God did win,
Trust God Almighty.

2
The Sea
A Tsunami assaults me,
To break me from Free.
I cannot see beyond the sea,
Whilst I am unable to flee.

Waves break upon my shore,

With destructions of Hell.
Pounding against mine floor,
With waves black and fell.

In mine heart, I utter a little plea,

With hope, try I to tell,
The messenger to cross the sea,
To tell any and all my tail.

He crosseth in a boat of shell,

To plead aid for souls poor.
He doth set out, and dare not fail,
For the miles measure ten score.

Till he reacheth the other sea,

Setting foot on land of Free,
He doth cry for all to see,
And he beggeth the King of me.

With pity, the King quoth to the sea,

“Peace, be still.”
And all was calm, and all was free,
And mine heart was still.

2
P

If I were to die on the Marrow,

Wither, wither wouldst I wander?
To Hell and sorrow,
Or Heaven wonder?

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow…

I think and ponder on mine Savior
To Know… To know…
Wither I wouldst wander.

‘T is a marvel; ‘T is a Wonder
That mine sin so rank; so heinous
Shouldst be punished on mine Savior,
Upon the Cross, Christ Jesus.

I will fear no evil for the Lord is with me…

For He has risen!
And then Ascension
Unto His Holy Throne
As Propitiation
To ever and anon
Blot mine sin!

And in hope and faith

I know… I know…
Wither I wilt wander…

2
A Poem for Prayer
A question have I for thee and thine,
For all thine kindred kind,
That your souls may brighter shine,
And darkness you may bind.

“What do you say when you pray?”

Do you ask God’s guidance,
Or else for blessing for coming day,
Or for Divine Defense?

And although these are well,

I say, lift thine voices unto Heaven,
And of His mercies forever given,
Let thine hearts in Love tell.

Ask forgiveness for defiance,

Lift thine hearts of sinking gray,
Lift up the cry for repentance.
For your selves and souls, thus pray.

But let Love be not blind,

Be thankful to Triune Divine.
Remember mercies kind,
Thank God, and let love shine.

2
And Serpents

2
Treasure
What is the world but hollow pleasure,
When rampant runs evil, sinful crime.
Worldly pleasure is fading treasure,
Long forgotten by annals of time.

Hours, days, and lives are stolen,

Corrupting and felling men.
Destroying hearts of men within,
Sending them to hell’s eternal den.

When is eternal lasting treasure,

To be given unto mortal men?
All the earthly goods cannot measure,
To treasure greater than I can pen.

Is it the greater works of men?

Or in grand halls, does it lie within?
Will it last forever now as then?
Will it save the wretched men from sin?

I tell you, the treasure in this chime,

Is He who gives eternal pleasure,
He who saved me from the curse of time.
Christ Jesus is He, this Treasure.

2
Love at First Sight
I had been strolling through a crowded place,*
When I beheld a heavenly beauty,
Whose glowing radiance made my heart race.
If only her eye would turn to me and see
The love I have for her. The quickening pace
Of my heart described inner agony.

In the crowd of a thousand, I saw her,

And with love for her I dared approach
So that when we met, our two lips would touch.
But I saw a ring upon her finger
That betrayed to me I should ne’er have her.
Then darker terror did quickly approach,
‘Twas Her husband with a look of reproach,
And Oh! That my face were as it were ere I saw her.

*
The first half of this line, for the purpose of satire, is taken from “I Was Strolling Through The Park One
Day” and the second half of the line, for the same reason, was taken from a song that is, at present, popular.
For the lack of the knowledge of the title and author of the second song, I shall here provide the first two
lines, “When in a crowded place/I saw your face”. Both songs I utterly despise due to their flawed
philosophy, therefore I have here provided a poem that describes the reality of “Love at First Sight”.

3
Beyond The Black
There is a Light beyond the black,
That thou canst see,
A Light of Love and Beauty,
To which thou hast turned thy back,
Against a Wisdom thou durst lack,
A Wisdom thou shalt ne’er gain again,
Lest thine eyes, to the Light, turn to see.

A Light, which of Life doth drain,

For ‘tis the price to see again.
‘Twas Mine own soul Christ didst stay,
To dwell with Him in His day,
For Christ is Light beyond the black.

3
Grieving
Hark, a wail,
I hear a cry!

Hark, for in the air is a wail.

I hear another stricken cry.
Another’s heart didst fail,
Another breath of dust didst die.

And I advanced
To see what was the matter.
And I but glanced
To see many a mourner.

I heard a woman moaning,

And saw the children groaning.
Many a heart was mourning
That dark and dreary morning.

Their mirthless crying

Saw I and I did cry.
Their hapless sighing
Heard I and I did sigh.

They did grieve

And their hearts heave
For their dear love
And death thereof.

But, hark, I hear a hope

That the man had to heaven
Though, in darkness, he did grope
Like the heart craven.

Alas that I needs tell

That any heart wanton
Should surely fell to Hell
Ever and anon.

Yea, but we harbor hope

That our beloved dwell the better
In yon heavenly chamber,
Though we cling to a brittle rope.
For no one can,

3
Though he be
The best of men,
Inherit Eternity
Without the Cross
To cover his dross.
And if so,
It would be seen,
To let all to know
A heart made clean;
And if not,
All will know
A heart of rot.

Let this warn you then,

To flee from the wrath to come.

Hark, a cry,
I hear a wail…

3
The Wild Steed
With teeth a gnashing
And nostrils flaring,
A wild heart is racing
Without a pacing.

A monster mightily,
Storming hither and thither
Without restraining,
Like a craven sinner.

A mustang wild
Without restraint.
A mustang wild
Without constraint.

So are wicked men,

The forlorn heathen.
So are “Christian” men,
The said backslidden.

Lo, a lapping whelp

In wells forbidden,
With carnal yelp
For the virgin.

His ravenous eye seeks,

Like the lion, to devour,
Hapless prey; the weak,
In the hour of their flower.

Without devouring,
They devour
Without consuming,
They consume.

These are men,

Lusting, forbidden,
For virgin women
In sadden sin.
But Lo,
When the horse is bridled,
And the dog tamed,
The horse can be saddled

3
And the dog gamed
Now go,
Control thy passion,
O craven men,
For the maiden,
Of thy haven.

3
The Christian Fickle
You demand Love from God,
And eternal forgiveness.
Yet you scorn His rod,
And refuse repentance.

You desire eternal salvation,

But you refuse to buy it.
You cower from damnation,
But your sins usher the pit.

You sin in vile debauchery,

And yet you declare,
“God will forgive me.”
Is this hardly fair?

Yet you hardly think it loving,

When God ordains justice.
You think He aught to be forgiving,
Whilst you revel in wickedness.

Does God not deserve your love?

Yet you refuse it Him.
Did He send His Son Above
To humor your minds dim?

He came not for you,

Though arrogance fattens your head.
And though you think yourselves true,
Your love is not but dead.

He came for His glorification,

Not for your satisfaction.
He demands our adoration,
Not our selfish ambition.

Therefore,
Teachers, preach the Word of God,
Without omission.
Pastors, teach not sermon odd,
But rather, division.

Hell is on the brink,

Let us refuge in our Lord.

3
For ‘tis death we doth drink
In this foreign land poored.

3
For Shame
“I will do what I do, what I do when I want to do how I do what I do.”

Such is a rebellious song!

To sing of the heart’s wants,
Grown dark and long
In chasm haunts
For love gone wrong.

Are we singing
Of heart needing
Or heart wanton
To Hell sunken?

We ring,
We sing,
A happy ditty,
In mirth and song,
For hearts of nought
And souls of rot
To sail
Without fail
To Hell.

!!For Shame!!

3
Judgment
And we War
Because we Whore.
A Nation
In Rebellion.

Two Towers fell,

The Seas rage,
Our crops fail,
Our sons wage.

Judgment has fallen

Upon our nation
For sin and rebellion;
For Ten Broken.

We have been given,

By Christ, our Sovereign;
Forsaken, to sin;
To corruption.

America!
Repent!

3
I Never Wore
A Mask*
In Sunday service, in communion,
I saw one of mine brethren,
The which wore a white mask.
And thus did I ask,
Why wear you a mask?

And thus did he answer:

I never wore a mask but once,

And that was when I lied.
Still, I have not worn one since,
For what have I to hide?

I never stole but a little,

T’ was only some small candy,
It was, after all, no fiddle,
Though no one ever saw me.

I never slew a soul,

In some cleverly contrived plot.
To know the whole,
I only hated him in thought.

I never took to an affair,

Save yon flaunting Belle,
With so trim a figure.
Though, on her, only my eyes fell.

Yea but I shan’t go to Hell,

For God shall sow me mercy!
So you see, all is well,
And I, of course, am happy.

Furthermore,
My brother,
I never told a lie but once,
And that was only just now.

Thus did he pass into darkness.

4
The Dead
Let us morn for the dead,
For they are no more.
Let us weep for the dead,
For now they are poor.

The dead are gone away,

Whilst we here rot.
And the living here stay,
And we are not.

Who then is truly dead?

The corps is not.
But then, it may be said,
Death is our lot.

Who then is living?

The dead are not.
The living are the loving,
Whom He hath sought.

And dead you need be no more,

For, He, who died,
Knocks upon thine door.
For ‘t is why Christ died.

4
We Live, We Die
We live, we die, we cry,
Life, Love, and Liberty,
Statements noble and high,
But death we eternally see.

Death conquers all,

Body, Spirit, and Soul.
From death, all fall,
To be laid into a Hole.

Is there none stronger,

Than this black chasm?
Cannot life be longer,
Ere our eyes grow dim?

But One, death took not,

For there was power greater;
A power of love never sought;
In Him from forever.

He arose from the dead,

To save the weak and lame.
His Love endures, It is said,
For Christ is forever the same.

4
L
What if men were given to choose
Whither their souls will wander,
Whether to fire they them loose
Or else they gain eternal splendor?

What if there was no election,

And all men were given,
By their own inclination,
The choice of salvation?

What if we were required

To simply choose Him,
Though we be bemired,
By free will sublime?

Oh that no such curse,

As is this Free Will,
Befall such as us,
Chosen of God’s Will.

For the thoughts of all men

Are evil all of the time,
None do good, no not one,
Rather, they incline to crime.

For none choose Christ’s way,

As their wicked sin within,
Shows how dead be they;
And none would then be forgiven.

Thank God for souls wrought

For election in afore thought,
Else Christ’s Cross would come to naught;
Yet, by the Holy Ghost, it has not.

4
?Happenstance Repentance?
When men repent,
In song or sermon;
Seeing hearts defiant,
To confess, to urn from sin;
Praise we poet or pastor?
Nay, rather,
We give glory
To the Spirit Holy.

For ‘T is he who saves

Who ope’s our eyes
To save us from our graves
And lifts, to heaven, our cries.

For no device of men

Can save our Brethren;
Rather salvation
Is the Almighty’s dominion.

4
Take Up The Fight
There are all about us,
Shadows of darkness.
Why, our plight, do we fuss?
Are we defenseless?

Where does our courage lie?

Why be we so weak?
Do hear not that cry?
Strength goodness doth seek.

Why flee time and again?

Are you cowardice?
For this, what is your gain?
Are you defenseless?

Reveal the light of the Lord,

Within the shadows.
Take His Holy Sword
Show your heart glows.

May the Word be set free,

In this evil darkness.
Of you, the World will see,
Not one defenseless.

Follow the Lord’s bidding,

Reflect His glory.
Quit thy holes of hiding,
Tell our Lord’s story.

Be not clouded and dim,

For fear of darkness.
Remember, without our Sovereign,
We are hopeless.

4
Dark Age
Light is once again threatened,
By the undying, unsleeping foe.
Christ is no longer mentioned,
By Christian, hiding so low.

Earth is being darkened by night,

Evil roams free and far.
Christian, so weak, will not fight,
For fear of death or scar.

Evil freely perverts and kills.

Will no one stand in defiance?
Evil roams where it wills.
Stand we quiet in compliance?

Rise up Christian, no longer hide,

Drive evil back to Hell!
You have fallen, you have slid,
Leave that hole in which you dwell.

Bare scorn and pain with pride,

Take sword and shield in hand.
Why do you shrink and hide?
Retake this barren land.

Christ is with us, He is for us,

None will stand in the way.
Why cry? Why fuss?
Why wait till break of day?

Christian, accept your fate,

Men are needed for the fight.
Light is fading the time is late,
Show the world the perfect Light.

Christ is soon coming!

Christian, prepare His way.
Do not sit in waiting,
Drive away the evil day!

4
Consume That Anger
Swallow your pride soldier brave,
Consume that anger in fire.
Take not to evil; become not naϊve,
Your duties still call; all is not dire.

Freedom comes not by passing of time,

But by redemption of mind and heart.
Forgo evil thought and evil crime,
Begin anew, for love to start.

Days are few; love those close to you,

Though you be cast down and lost.
The Lord will guide you through,
Though your heart be cold of frost.

Your hopes will rise ever the higher,

No bonds will keep you a slave.
Consume that anger in fire,
Swallow your pride soldier brave.

4
Duel
On Guard, Parry, Riposte
“You challenge me to a duel,
My brother, My blood?”
“Yea, oh raven, craven cruel
Of the Black Brood.

On Guard, Parry, Riposte

“For I am a new man,

A new creation!”
“Surely you jest!
Of our number the best!

On Guard, Parry, Riposte

“Come. Why cross swords?

We are of the ruling class.”
“Death to Black lords!
I defy the cast!

On Guard, Parry, Riposte

“For I am a citizen
Of the kingdom of Heaven!”
“You and I are one!
Hell and Sin’s son!

On Guard, Parry, Riposte

“Cast you away your titles?

Your lands? Your serfs?”
“They are but trifles,
A plague, a curse!

On Guard, Parry, Riposte

“For I am born again,

Child of God, a Christian!”
“You betray your brother?
And your nation father?

On Guard, Parry, Riposte

4
“You have insulted our honour!
Now you or I must die!”
“Ha! Ha! You know not your hour,
For already didst I die!”

Touch
Our old self was crucified,
With Christ we died.
No longer slaves to sin,
To Christ, we were given,
We, who are born again.

(A Ballad)
Melody I
Temptation

“Come knight errant, come Defiant.

Taste the nectar of mine treasure;
Mine treasure pleasure.”
“Thine eyes art radiant;
And thy tongue pleasant.
But shouldst I enter thy mountain doom,
Hell fire wouldst mine soul consume.”

“Come knight errant, come Defiant.

Truly Quoth I, that beauty art beyond yon door;
A sure pleasure shore.”
“Thine tongue prickle mine ear;
Surely thou art no fear.
But shouldst I enter thy mountain doom,
Hell fire wouldst mine soul consume.”

“Come knight errant, come Defiant.

I have thee in mine talon strong;
I shalt keep thee there long.”
“I shall eat and be merry for nigh draweth death;
Whilst mine life is but a breath.
Though shouldst I enter thy mountain doom,
Hell fire wouldst mine soul consume.”

Melody II
Fall

“Be still monster. Stay thou, Serpent.

Why didst I give thee to bring me hither;
Whilst mine mind didst wither?”
“Thou sought comfort in mine pleasure;
Which thou wrested from me clever.
For now that thither thou didst wander,
Thy soul art mine here and after.”

“Be still monster. Stay thou, Serpent.

How is it, I didst forsake mine honour;
For thine hollow pleasure?”
“Thine heart didst wither;
And thou art lost forever.
For now that thither thou didst wander,
Thy soul art mine here and after.”

“Be still monster. Stay thou, Serpent.

Hope faileth not lest despair prevail;
For t ’is long ere ringeth mine death knell.”
Thou art a fool to so test me;
As no man can e’er conquer me.
For now that thither thou didst wander,
Thy soul art mine here and after.”

Melody III
Redemption

“Speak now snake, thou Serpent silent.

What say ye when thy strength is spent;
O’er the heart repent?”
“How didst thou slay me;
Thou beardless puny?
What power is this Manifest,
That death doth detest?”

“Speak now snake, thou Serpent silent.

This from me, cometh not, but in me;
For therein dwelleth Him Holy.”
“Quoth thou of the known Deity;
He who was before eternity?
What power is this Manifest,
That death doth detest?”

“Speak not snake, thou Serpent silent.

Thou knowest Him well, as thou felt His rod;
Christ is He, the Son of God.”
“And from Him do I recoil;
The power to mine own foil.
What power this, Manifest,
That death doth detest.”

For The Seasons

Nature’s Song
Grass so green,
Tree great and tall,
Too high to be seen,
Too grand to fall.

Bird of grand hall,

Chirp clean and sweet.
Returning distant call,
A soft, calm tweet.

In summer’s heat,
Nature comes alive.
With prancing of little feet,
Beauty will thrive.

A distant bee’s hive,

Points to God’s divine.
A mother of five,
A doe doth shine.

Like the perfect line,

Of the Painter.
Nature gives sign,
To a holy Creator.

5
Earth Give Praise
Green grass covers naked earth,
Tree and shrub are as jewelry,
Gifted unto the world at birth,
When wild flowers danced free.

The Creator designed perfectly,

Earth’s garments radiant flow.
Care and detail gave He,
All creatures of which we know.

Unseen wind’s mighty blow,

Crafted by divine understanding.
He wishes man to know,
Even the beauty of spring.

Hear birds of the air sing,

Praise God for such wonder.
Such is the care of our King,
Earth praises Him with thunder.

5
Glory Green
In forest’s wonder,
Under leaves so dark,
I see Your splendor.
Forest’s quiet I hark.

Stately forms guard,

My wandering thought.
Ageless giants bard,
By timeless wrought.

The Maker’s glory,

In these He did paint.
Placid in time’s story,
For wonder not faint.

Vast sea of green,

Above head, hovering.
Such a grand scene,
Too rich for a king.

Towers of earth reflect,

Glory of God’s divine.
With stately respect,
His care doth shine.

I do thank Thee,
Nature’s Painter,
For the wooded sea,
O, Heaven’s perfect Maker.

5
Come, Come, O Rain
Grey clouds cover the sky,
Casting a veil upon the sun.
Thunder clashes near and by,
Sending lightning on the run.

Come, O rain, wash our sins away,

Cleans and purify this morn.
Wash us clean for the coming day,
Water, upon us doth adorn.

Clean our city of all its waste,

O rain, sent by our Lord’s hand.
Come, come make haste,
Water fallen to cleans our land.

O great clouds, do your object,

Then pass to other lands, pass away.
Take to other lands He doth select,
And let light shine, let come day.

5
The New Year
A black expanse,
With power to slay,
Yawns before us
This New Year’s Day.

As I look o’er our past,

On a year dark and gray,
I see what did not last;
Ere this New Year’s Day.

Naught but death and despair

Await in the coming year
Where withers all that once was fair,
In a land dark with fear.

Why then celebrate,

Thy coming doom?
The hour is late,
To dance in gloom.

Yet I behold a light,

Beyond the darkening year,
And gathering night,
In Christ eternity bright.

Whither wilt thou wander

When thou art dead,
And thy heart tarries here no longer,
When thy sun of red,
Descends o’er thy life of pleasure?
When thou art dead,
Whither wilt thou wander?

5
Death’s Three Days
On Death’s first day,
Upon the Cross doth hang,
Christ, before tomb’s way,
On that day, no bird sang.

The Earth quaked and quivered,

Foundations of the World cried.
Creatures all, shook and shivered,
As their Maker slowly died.

He was taken off that day,

To be buried in Earth’s belly.
His innocence, death did slay,
His life He gave freely.
***
On Death’s second day,
Our sacrifice doth hang.
In the tomb He doth lay,
No joyous bell would ring.

Wind’s breath stood still,

All the World stood silent.
For what sinful man did kill,
The heart repent was rent.

Sealed was Christ’s fate,

Tight as the tomb’s stone.
With evil, burning hate,
Did Satin desire the throne.
***
On Death’s third day,
Heaven’s Angel host sang.
Son shines its first ray,
On that day, joy rang.

With joy did Earth glow,

Every beast did prance,
Mercy God did show,
And every tree dance.

Man is free from death’s lies,

Redeemed now as was then.
For Christ did rise,

Saving men from sin.

Halloween
On the darkest day of the year,
The Sun shone its brightest.
When darkness haunts men in fear,
There is the Hope greatest.

Fear and shadow cover men’s thoughts,

Blindness covers their sight.
In sin and evil their heart rots,
Lost are they in their twilight.

O Christian, what have we to fear?

Cower we in the night?
Know you that Jesus is near!
Evil bounds us naught.

Take thine sword and shield and fight,

Let not fear crowd your thoughts.
Loose not your sight of Christ’s Light,
Fear not evil’s plots.

Cower will the heathen Satanist,

From the Light of life and fear.
And the Son shall shine the brightest,
That, of grace, all will hear!

The Christmas Carroll
Prelude

Why merrily ring,

This cold December?
And what do we sing,
That we remember?

Come, Come thee the lost,

See the Heavenly.
Look beyond thy frost,
On He, the Kingly.

Prophet, give thy ear,

Bow down, earthly king,
Shepherd, give thy fear,
To Heavenly King.

He mercifully,
Came to save the lost.
Jesus carefully,
Came to pay the cost.

And we remember,
He, to whom hearts sing,
In little manger,
He, the little King.

6
First Melody

This night enchanted,

Came sinner’s Savior.
David’s descended,
Was sinner’s Savior.

Lands fare and away,

Under clouds of gray,
Await coming day,
When death cannot slay.

Before light of day,

Came sinner’s Savior,
He, that death would slay,
Was more the greater.

With Joy did He play,

While Jesus there lay.
The clouds broke away,
That sin Christ would slay.

Eternal Savior,
To us descended.
He, our defender,
Gave Hope amended.

6
Second Melody

Sent was mercy new,

That Love we might know.
Providence doth blew,
Christ, the Heaven’s glow.

Sent for us to die,

My heart rent doth cry.
And when death drew neigh,
His small voice let cry.

Under star filled night,

Slept the Child Hero.
One to end the fight,
And save from below.

With merciful cry,

Lord of Love drew neigh.
He heard mournful cry,
Of men doomed to die.

His mercies doth flow,

Over we, His few.
O Lord, let us know,
Of the Love You grew.

6
Third Melody

Dawn in the darkness,

Was the Christmas Child.
Filling hearts with bliss,
Was the Holy Child.

Forever His Love;

Sent us from Above;
Lasts, as does the dove,
His Love from Above.

The freedom He gave,

He, The Christmas Child.
To free a poor slave,
Upon me He smiled.

O, the Love He gave,

In that garden grove.
His betrayal gave,
Sacrifice of Love.

He, that Christmas Child,

Died for the hopeless.
Yet He, the Christ Child,
Arose from darkness!

Sola Deo Gloria

To Thee
I Give My Glory

To you only, my Lord;

Do I give praise and glory.
In my writing and word;
Do I praise Your story.

My hand you blessed for song;

With this I glorify Your name.
You have wiped away my wrong;
You have forgiven my shame.

My mind You have graced with story;

Stories of adventure, sorrow, and laughter.
May I use these to bring You glory;
May my work point to You forever.

A love for good and for justice,

You gave me, to uphold honor.
With this, may I keep Your Holiness;
With diligence, strength, and fervor.

With all that is passed to me,

May I pass to Thee, this glory.
Though fame I may not see,
I keep You, Jesus, in my story.

7
Thus I end my volume, to the glory of God Almighty.
