OLD BUSINESS:
The Annual Members Mee ng will be Sunday, Sep
tember 27 at 2 pm, rain or shine, at the pool.
Dr. D. Doane made some comments related to the
fence li ga on pertaining to the MCA and to the fence
owner which appeared in the June 9th ACCC report in
the last newsleer. She felt that the report was false
and misleading whether the li ga on was con nuing
on appeal. The board acknowledged that the li ga on
is on appeal. She also noted that ACCC should not
be used with the word commiee aEer it. The
board agreed.
Mr. M. Collman explained some changes to his Eagle
Scout project. The board agreed that a square table
would t in the available space beer, but expressed
concern that plaques on the benches, although cheap
er than engraving, would be vandalized easily. The
board suggested that he conduct his fundraisers and
then come back to the board to discuss nancing the
engraving. He had hoped to begin in November, but it
is more likely to be March 2016.

purple berries in the Fall. Liriope can be used to compliment other plants by providing creamy white and green
leaves along side of brilliant color. It mul plies and can be
divided. Many landscapers are now using them on slopes
in place of grass which has to be mowed and turns brown
in the heat.
Azaleas are truly amazing. There are so many varie es.
Short and wide 'Mothers Day has that bright rose color.
The na ve Delaware White last forever. I s ll have one
from 1967 when my house was built. Remember the
guidelines for plan ng:
Dont plant too deep or in wet soil. In poor draining
soils or clay, plant ve inches above the soil line. Know
whether your azalea likes shade, par al sun or can
take that hot August sun. Mulch around the plant to
retain moisture.
Anyone have tall grasses that are several years old and
the inside core of the plant has died out? One way to deal
with this is to dig up the plant, using an axe, split the plant
into sec ons and replant. An easier way is to get a drill
with a hole saw (a special bit used for cuhng large holes
in wood), and drill out the center of the plant. Drill down 6
to 8 inches through the crown stopping occasionally to
clear out soil and dead roots. It is not easy but saves
heavy liEing. The rest of the season new roots will grow
back and ll in the gap.
I must men on the lawn. Fall IS the me of the year to
aend to the lawn. Fer lize using the guidelines set by
the University of Maryland extension service.

Several friends have told me they spray white vinegar on
weeds and feel it is not only eec ve but doesnt hurt the
environment.

Also, if you have some coee leE over, add water and
pour it over your plants. Coee has both magnesium
and potassium and the coee grounds acts like ground
cover. It wakes up your plant!

Describe the alteration in detail. Information about dimension, materials and design must be included with this form or the
project will not be considered by the ACC. Include any statement of special circumstances that may require deviation from
established and published guidelines. Any changes to the exterior of your home, including paint color, siding and windows, will require the approval of the neighbors on each side and in back of your home. Siding must blend harmoniously
with the neighborhood. The neighbors residing across the street must also be contacted if the project, when completed, can
be seen from their property. Major landscaping projects such as retaining walls, etc. must also be approved. Plans for
major alterations must be submitted to the ACCC two weeks before the meeting. Applications for approval of PODS,
dumpsters, or similar structures should check the Other box and must include the maximum time that the structure will
be on the lot.
Note (1) Copy of plat of your property showing location on your property of the requested alteration.
Note (2) Detailed scale drawing or copy of blue prints of proposed alteration.
I understand that these items are needed for the committee to make an informed decision about the requested

The homeowner requesting approval of a project (requester) will contact the neighbor(s) residing on each side of his
home to obtain their concurrence or comments. In the event the requester resides on a corner lot, the neighbor residing adjacent to his rear property line must be contacted. The neighbors residing across the street must also be
contacted if the project, when completed, can be seen from their property. Space for their name(s), address, concurrence or comments is provided above. If the required neighbor approvals are not obtained by the requester the
ACC will contact the neighbors to get their comments which will delay processing of the request. Neighbor comments will be considered by the ACC in making a decision. Those neighbors that non-concur in a project will be
notified in writing of the action taken by the ACC and advised of their right to appeal. If a project requiring ACC
approval is started without such approval it shall be considered in violation of the covenants of the Association.
Mail completed forms to MCA ACC Committee, P.O. Box 2503, Laurel, MD 20709 or email to
