Sun City Lincoln Hills resi-
dents Warren and Eleanor
Anderson have quite the
active lifestyle.
Both are avid cyclists who
have experienced the region,
as well as portions of the
country and beyond, from
the seats of their road bikes.
Eleanor, 68, started riding
in 1991, at age 50. She gave
mountain biking a try first
before moving on to road
biking.
“We were doing mountain
biking and we were doing
some pretty gnarly single
tracks,” Eleanor said. “I did a
lot of falling down … so I
decided to road bike. I fell in
love with road riding.”
By the time Eleanor was
52, she and Warren were
doing 100-mile century
rides. The next year, the cou-
ple did a 200-mile double
century on their tandem
bicycle.
“In two years I went from

In recent years, Eleanor
has traded in some of her
mileage for other athletic
endeavors.
“It was more important for
me to have a more well-
rounded fitness program,”
she said.
While she’s not riding as
much as Warren, Eleanor
has incorporated yoga and
trips to the gym into her
weekly routine.
Nothing beats the endor-

good workout, Eleanor said.
