Jumaa Prayer

for the Muslims of Africa and beyond

West Africa Advanced School of Theology

Intercede for the Muslim World!

[Jesus] poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes
intercession for the transgressors (Is. 53:12, ESV).
Jesus intercedes for usand for those who follow Islam. Let's pray that they may understand this reality and love.

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

DR CONGO: Please pray concerning the ongoing impact of the primary school and hospital run by one of the AG
churches in the huge capital city, Kinshasa. The pastor, an alumnus, says that many of the children are Muslim, and
when they accept Jesus, they face problems with their families. Pray that the Spirit may give them wisdom beyond
their years and help them to stand as firm and loving testimonies. May their families also find the Lord! The hospital
treats anyone who comes; pray that the Christian medical personnel would have wonderful opportunities to offer
eternal hope along with the physical care.
SIERRA LEONE: On November 7 Sierra Leone was finally declared Ebola free. Thank God for the end of this
scourge, and for those who found the Lord in the midst of despair. Continue to pray for the spiritual growth of new
believers and the churches.
TOGO: An alumnus shares a request that underscores the need for shelters for worship. In August we prayed for an
evangelism team who worked with this pastor in his city and several villages in the area. In one Fulani village a
congregation had started to meet under trees. When the imam, who serves as chief, learned that his wife was attending
and that they had no shelter, he banned her and others from continuing. Had there been a shelter, the pastor explains,
they could have met. Please pray for these converts, that the Spirit may keep and guide them. Praise God, the 3 other
churches planted during this month are doing well. In one case, the imam donated a hectare of land, despite the fact
that he is not in favor of the church. A church in Lom has given funds for buildings.

In the News
Pray for African pastors, churches, and believers in Europe, that they may reach Muslim refugees flooding into these
nations. According to a study of the Center for the Study of Global Christianity, Europe is seeing more reverse
mission as churches from the global South are sending missionaries and Christian immigrants are moving in.
Africans are having a great impact as they establish fast-growing Pentecostal churchessome of the largest in Europe
and more than 1,000 in Italy alone. They are well-placed to reach immigrants, as many are familiar with Islam, know
the life of an immigrant, and share more cultural similarities.

From Global Initiative*

Please pray for protection for Christian minorities in Iraq and Syria.

For Muslim Women**

Pray for the millions of unreached Muslim women who reside in Urumqi, capital city of China's Xinjiang Uyghur
Autonomous Region. Those who hear and want to turn to Christ face family opposition. Continued animosity on the
part of the Communist Party toward any religion further suppresses opportunities to hear the gospel. There are some
government-approved churches in Urumqi, but Uyghers are rarely seen there because of racial tension between the
majority Han and Uyghurs, and the lack of services in their language. Pray that true believers would reach out these
women and their families, despite the dangers of doing so, that they may find eternal life.
