SCIENCECLUB IN SCHOOLS:SCOPE AND ORGANIZATION

A science club
is an out-of-school-hours club that
offers children the chance to do
science-related activities that extend
and enhance the science they
experience in the classroom. basic
principle is involved in the formation of
organization called "Science Clubs"
meant for 'learning by doing.Most
clubs use the opportunity to explore
areas of science not covered by the
curriculum and to give the club
members plenty of opportunities to do
practical science., there are no
restrictions and the students can work
on their own ideas with full freedom.
Science clubs may also helpto reduce
the burden of the increasing science
curriculum. It can be define as "an
organization, which helps in the
development of scientific attitude, and
develop genuine interest in science
and scientific activities, supplements
the work of the classroom and the
laboratory and parts the syllabus on a
practical bias".

Basic principle is involved in the

OBJECTIVES
1.To provide proper incentive and
inspiration by broadening their
scientific outlook.

school close to the society .

spirit and attitude of healthy
competition.

5. To help the students in imbibing the


habit of self- reliance, self-dependence
and love for manual work.
6. To develop in children a sense of
healthy competition for a better cause.

the values of time.
8. To create interest in latest
inventions and discoveries of science
in various fields
9.to get acquainted with the life history
and contributions of great scientists.
10. To develop students, interest and
participation in the practical application
of the knowledge related to different
branches of sciences.

surroundings.
12. To develop training in scientific
method of problem solving.
13. .To provide opportunity for the
development of the constructive,
explorative and inventive faculties of
the students.

ORGANIZATION
The responsibility of
taking initiative in the establishment of
a science club in the school and then
for its effective organization essentially
rests with the science teacher. it's just
as important that the organizers enjoy
the club, as it is that the children enjoy
the club.
It is a good idea to have a club notice
board in the room, or in a nearby
corridor. This can be used to remind
the children when and where to meet,

whether they need to bring in any


special equipment and to display their
work.
Need atleast 2 or more
organizers
Club will be more adventurous
and creative.
Organizers should enjoy club
Enjoy opportunity to extend
their knowledge and skill.
Utilize their skill to inculcate
scientific temper.
It can be run in a lunch break or
after school.
Organizers may seek help from
parents, engineers, graduate
students etc.
Organizer is a key figure in science
club; also should have some abilities.
