Freshman Student
A freshmen student is defined as a student who is a high school graduate and who has
not attended a college or university after graduating from high school (secondary
school).
Freshman requirements:
Present official secondary school transcripts, diplomas, certificates, statement of results
and/or national test examination scores as given in your country.
Submit an official English translation for all non-English transcripts.
Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.
Possess the equivalent of a 2.5 out of 4.0 grade point average for admission
consideration if coming for a foreign high school.
Submit official scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or
International English Language Testing System (IELTS). See score requirements and
waivers below.
Submit official scores for the SAT (code 6919) or ACT (code 4239).
International Undergraduate Admission to The University of Texas at San Antonio
(UTSA) is offered to academically qualified international applicants. Completed
applications are evaluated through an individual review process after all supporting
admissions materials are received by the Office of International Programs, International
Undergraduate Admissions. Students who are admitted to the university are not
guaranteed admission to a specific academic program.

English Language Assessment Program (ELAP):


The ELAP is a test to assess students' academic English proficiency in the areas of
reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The test is administered during orientation.
Results from the ELAP will determine possible placement in EIS (English for
International Students) courses. EIS courses are credit courses and not part of an
Intensive English Program. For more information on the ELAP, please visit Intensive
English Program ELAP.
Attention: Meeting our TOEFL or IELTS score requirement does not guarantee
acceptance.
TOEFL/IELTS Waivers
Earned bachelor's degree from a U.S. college or university.
Earned 45 or more semester hours of transferable credit from a U.S. college or
university.
Earned 30 or more semester hours of transferable credit from a U.S. college or
university to include college-level English Composition I with a B- or better
grade.
The applicant graduated from a U.S. high school and completed three full years
of regular English courses.
The applicant scored 500 or greater on the SAT critical reading or 21 or greater
on the ACT English component.
Conditional Admission
The University of Texas at San Antonio offers Conditional Admission for
international undergraduate students who meet our academic requirement for
admission but who require additional English language training at UTSA.
Students interested in conditional admission should apply using the online Texas
Common Application for the semester they wish to begin the Intensive English
Program (IEP).
After successfully completing the IEP and achieving the appropriate TOEFL or
IELTS score, students will be promoted to a degree seeking status for the
following semester to enroll in academic courses.
Students who accept an offer of conditional admission are required to attend a
minimum of one semester of IEP at UTSA.
Students who have taken or expect to take the TOEFL or IELTS before the
application deadline will not be considered for conditional admission until such
scores are on file.

Eligibility for conditional admission and promotion to a degree-seeking status is


contingent upon submission of all required academic credentials.
Deadlines
Fall semester: June 1 (semester begins late August)
Spring semester: November 1 (semester begins early January)
Summer semester: April 1 (semester begins late May to early June)
F-1 or J-1 Visa Students
Must submit Confirmation of Financial Resources (CFR) for any student
expecting to enter on an F-1 or J-1 visa
Confirmation of Financial Resources is not required for admission consideration.
However, it is recommended that you become familiar with the requirements and
be prepared to submit your financial documents upon acceptance to UTSA

Note: Attestations of Original Documents
When an original document cannot be duplicated according to the secondary
school, university, or examining board policy, attested copies may be substituted.
Attestations MUST be obtained either from the issuing college/university, the
Controller of Examination/Records or the Principal.
Attestation must include the appropriate signature and official stamp.
Copies attested by notary officials, translators, head of department, lecturer,
other government posts, etc., are not acceptable substitutes.

Michigan. The wealth of the world and cultural experience they bring added significantly to the
rich and varied cultural tapestry University of Michigan.
How to apply
The application process for international students at the University of Michigan is the same
process all undergraduates agree with some important changes. The requirements may vary
depending on your country of origin and specific educational history, especially the type of
transcription you need to file.
Important Steps
First, you must complete and submit The Common Application, common application and
answer questions from University of Michigan (English), and pay $ 75 for the application (or
ask to be exempt from this fee *). A complete application includes each of the following
elements:

Transcript of secondary school (high school)

School report

An evaluation of teachers

SAT or ACT with the writing test

TOEFL, IELTS MELAB or (for non-native English speakers)


Note that international students with temporary visas are not eligible for financial aid, and
should expect to pay the full cost of care. There is generally no scholarships available.
Deadlines
As someone who lives a long way from Michigan and the United States, it is important to
submit your application, test scores and related materials as soon as possible - ideally, well
before you plan to attend UM. Your application materials will be reviewed once all they have
received. Although deadlines vary by school, college, or the program, some general terms to
consider are:
o October 1: Application deadline for Winter
o November 1: Early action (for first year applicants only)
o December 1: Registration deadline for the School of Music, Theatre and Dance only
o February 1: Application deadline for the fall semester
o How to run semesters in Michigan
The school year is from September to August.

The primary relationship between this university and UANL is based on the Marco Agreement,
is intended to establish the extent of the possibilities and the financial resources available, a
collaboration in education, student exchanges and joint research.
The University of Sherbrooke participates in student exchange programs with many universities
in Europe, USA, Latin America and Asia. An explanation of the selection and admission of
these universities will be made to apply for an academic exchange to a Canadian university
being an enrolled UANL student.
To enter the university need to remain exchange programs like CREPUQ, the NSE, the AUFC
or have signed a bilateral agreement for the exchange of students. The UANL currently has
agreements in CREPUQ body, so that the exchange is feasible.
Adventages

Make recognize credits from the University of Sherbrooke for the purpose of

Admission process
To apply for admission as part of an exchange program, you must fill out an application form
can be obtained in the university. Avoiding complete an application for admission to the
University of Sherbrooke online. Refer to the person responsible for trade or the international
relations office of the university.
Eligibility Criteria

Get your university permission to follow the course you want to enroll at the
University of Sherbrooke.

Have a good academic record and master the French language.

Assume yourself the cost of transportation, accommodation, food and health


insurance fees, if any.

Respect the admission requirements of the University of Sherbrooke and the special
requirements of specific faculties student exchanges.
It must meet the following documentation:

Participation Application Form to the exchange program

Cover letter (maximum one page)

Letter of recommendation

Course selection approved by your university

Photocopy of transcripts attesting previous studies completed (minimum 2 years)

Photocopy of birth certificate or passport identification page


Proof of your proficiency in the French language. This document is not required if
you are currently enrolled in a francophone institution or if you are applying on
Firmware second language French.

The complete file must be sent by the person in charge of the exchange program at the partner
institution and not by the student himself.
Important points

Students admitted through exchange programs are not eligible for off-campus
internships.

The University of Ottawa has student exchange partnerships with more than 250 institutions in
more than 50 countries. We welcome more than 300 exchange students each year.
The requirements and characteristics of this university exchange are as follows.
Most courses offered at the University of Ottawa are given in English and French. Candidates
must submit a language proficiency test at the time of application in the language that they wish
to take courses in if that language is not their mother tongue. Exchange students may choose
courses from all disciplines (except courses from the Telfer School of Management, the Faculty
of Education and the Faculty of Medicine) provided at least half are offered by their host
faculty. Exchange students must be registered full-time and the faculty must approve of the final
course selection. Some agreements are restricted to a specific program.
Eligibility Criteria

be admitted in a regular program of studies at the undergraduate or graduate level


be registered full time at the time of application to the exchange program
have completed a minimum of one academic university year (at the time of
application)
be able to submit your complete application by March 31
have the equivalent of a 70% cumulative university average
meet the language proficiency requirements. For students requiring a TOEFL or
IELTS, official results must be submitted at the time of application
be able to transfer the credits obtained at the University of Ottawa towards the
completion of his/her degree.

It must meet the following documentation:

All of your official university transcripts, including grading scales. Please scan and
save all documents in a single file (PDF or JPG). If the original transcript is not in
French or in English please include an official translation bearing the seal of the
partner institution or the stamp of its international office.

Official language proficiency test results, if required (check language requirements)

A scanned copy of your valid passport


Finances

Exchange students are expected to pay tuition and general fees to their home
institution before departing for Canada.

They are exempted from paying tuition and general fees to the University of Ottawa
during the exchange period.

They are, however, responsible for all other costs (such as flights, lodging, books
and food), including a subscription to the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP).

UHIP is compulsory for all exchange students. No exception will be made, even if
you have arranged for overseas insurance coverage from your home country.
Duration of Exchanges
Students from partner institutions can take part in an exchange for:
One semester
i. Fall Semester: September to December
ii. Winter Semester: January to April
Two semesters
iii. Regular academic year: September to April
Important points
Exchange students must respect the conditions of the exchange agreement signed between their
home institution and the University of Ottawa.
Contact the international relations office of your home institution to find out if we have an
exchange agreement with your university and the conditions for applying.
Exchange students cannot do an internship at the University of Ottawa while participating in the
exchange program. Students must be registered in a full-time course load during the exchange.

International Requirements
Non-EU applicants are considered for the 16 Overseas places available at Aberdeen.
Applications will be considered if candidates have achieved, or are predicted to achieve our
minimal academic requirements. All examination results must be obtained at the first sitting of
each subject.
Advice for Completion of UCAS Form
Applications will not be considered unless all areas of the UCAS form have been completed
including:

The names of schools, colleges and universities attended

All secondary school qualifications completed, giving names of qualifications and


grades achieved

Qualifications not yet completed giving names of qualifications

Predicted grades: The referee must include predicted grades of all individual
qualifications not yet taken

The Personal Statement: This must be written by the applicant and no areas should
be copied from any other source

The Reference: Information must be supplied on the UCAS form -we will not send
for a reference following receipt of the UCAS form. Applicants must not alter the
reference in any way
English Language Requirements
Candidates whose first language is not English, must achieve one of the following:
IELTS (International Language Testing System): Band 7.0 overall with a minimum of
7.0 in speaking section.

Please note, all English qualifications must be taken within two years of applying for
entry to the MBChB programme.

Typical Offer for Overseas Applicants

A typical offer will be Conditional upon achieving the minimum requirements for
GCE / SQA / IB / EB applicants or a minimum of the predicted grades below.

There may be an English requirement also.


Acceptable qualifications for Overseas applicants
Applications to the Medical degree course are normally made on the basis of GCE A-Level,
Scottish Higher, International Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate. In general, all
applicants, regardless of country of origin, will be expected to hold one or other of the above
qualifications. If in doubt about the acceptability of other qualifications

Entry requirements
Foundation
If you are graduating from Upper Secondary School with the qualification of Bachillerato you
will need to complete a Foundation Year to be eligible for admission to an undergraduate degree
at Leicester. For information about the International Foundation Year please see the

Undergraduate (Bachelors) degrees
If you are studying A-levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB) then you can begin
from the first year of a Bachelors degree. Please see individual course pages for entry
requirements.
If you have already completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Mexican
university, you may be considered for entry to the first year of a Bachelors degree if you
have studied relevant subjects.

Postgraduate (Masters) degrees


If you hold a Bachelors degree (Licenciatura) with a minimum average of 8.0/10.0 you will be
considered for entry to a Masters degree.

PhDs and other research degrees
To apply for a PhD (or other postgraduate research qualification, such as MPhil, DClinPsy,
DSocSci, EdD or MD) you must have a Bachelors degree (Licenciatura) from a recognised
Mexican university, usually in a related subject area, with a minimum average of 8.0/10.0
(depending on the subject you wish to study) which is equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class
Honours degree (also known as a 2:1).
You must also be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of appropriate research
methodologies. Research degrees are demanding and intensive: to succeed at this level you
must be highly motivated, be able to work independently, and have an appropriate familiarity
with the discipline and its associated research techniques/methodologies.

English language requirements
Scholarships and funding opportunities
The University of Leicester offers a number of scholarships for new international students. You
should also check in your own country whether scholarships are available for study overseas,
from your government or other organisations.
Postgraduate

University of Leicester Open Scolarships

FUNED: We have an agreement with the Fundacin Mexicana para la Educacin, La


Tecnologa y la Ciencia (FUNED) through which we offer scholarships worth a 20%
discount in tuition fees. For more information, please visit the FUNED website.
Students may combine scholarships from FUNED with a Santander scholarship.

FIDERH - Banco de Mexico: We have an agreement with the Fondo para el


Desarrollo de Recursos Humanos of Banco de Mexico (FIDERH) through which we
offer scholarships worth a 20% discount in tuition fees. For more information, please
visit the FIDERH website. Students may combine scholarships from FIDERH with a
Santander scholarship.

We have a limited number of University of Leicester Santander Scholarships from


Banco Santander. These are worth up to 5,000 and are available for all one-year,
full-time taught Masters degrees.
You can combine fee discounts from FIDERH or FUNED with a Santander scholarship. Please
note that the Santander scholarship is deducted first and the fee discount is then subtracted from
the balance.

CONACYT: The Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACYT) offers


scholarships for postgraduate studies abroad.

Lumni Mexico provide interest-free loans for postgraduate studies abroad. Please
