Registration Assessments in 2015

Practice questions: issued April 2015

This set contains 10 practice questions.

Questions 1 to 5 are examples of questions from Open Book papers. The references
that may be used are British National Formulary 69 March 2015 to September 2015
and BNF for Children 2014-2015.

Questions 1 to 3 may require the use of a summary of product characteristics which


would be provided in the assessment.

Questions 6 to 10 are examples of Closed Book questions.

There are 4 types of questions used in the Registration Assessment. Further


information on question types and the structure of the assessment papers can be
found in the pre-registration training manual.

Directions for questions 1 to 3. These questions are followed by five suggested answers.
Select the best answer in each case.
Questions 1 to 3 concern Mr A, a 54-year-old man, who has asthma. Mr A has just
come from an asthma review with the practice nurse at the GP surgery he attends.
He has been having a few issues with his combination inhaler and has now been
prescribed Relvar Ellipta for the first time. He presents in the pharmacy with his new
prescription. Mr A is now on the following medication:

Relvar Ellipta 184/22 micrograms 1 inhalation once daily


Salbutamol 100 microgram inhaler 2 puffs as required
