SPV Array Powered Zeta Converter Fed SRM Drive for Water
Pumping
Anjanee Kumar Mishra, Bhim Singh
Abstract This paper demonstrates the utilization of solar photovoltaic (SPV) array
produced electrical energy for low cost and efficient water pumping using simple, robust
and efficient switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive. For increasing the efficiency of
pumping system, an incremental conductance (InC) algorithm based MPPT technique is
employed with SRM drive. A DC-DC zeta converter operated in continuous conduction
mode (CCM) is used in midway between SPV array and SRM drive to provide limitless
region for operation of MPPT and also for soft starting of SRM. The mid-point converter
having two split capacitors is used to provide the required voltage pulses for phase
windings excitation of all four phases of SRM drive. The mid-point converter operates as an

Abstract Wind energy has become increasingly popular in last two-three decades.
Renewable energy source using wind energy supply power in remote sectors or it can be
use to fed power to the grid connected power systems. Changing in load or wind speed can
cause power quality issues. Present paper represent a FACTS based PFC (power filter
compensator) controlled by tri-loop controller which improves voltage profile of wind
energy system. The proposed power filter compensator is driven by tri-loop controller and
error fed to PI or PID controller which gives output to PWM generator for generating
signals and it operates IGBT switch for capacitor bank to compensate reactive power and
improves voltage profile of the power system. To demonstrate the working of technique a
simulation model is developed for several operations in MATLAB/SIMULINK software
environment.

Generalise PQ Theory with SPWM for Single Phase Shunt Active Filter
Applications
Anurag H. Ukande, Ms.S.L.Tiwari, Dr.S. G. Kadwane, Atul Kadu
AbstractIn this paper current control technique is used for reference signal generation for
voltage base PWM i.e. SPWM. Voltage source inverter with the help of generalized PQ
theory is implemented for shunt active filter applications. Two methods are used to generate
compensated current. Current is further converted into voltage as reference signal and this
is fed to the inverters sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique (SPWM). This inverter
is generating the injected current with all possible modification in the conventional single
phase shunt active filter. A multipurpose single phase shunt active filter (SAPF) for
domestic purpose is presented in this paper. The simulation results using
MATLAB/SIMULINK are shown to validate the proposed technique. Total harmonic
distortion (THD) and power factor (P.F.) are comes under the IEEE standard-519.

Design of Low Power, High Gain LNA for WCDMA Range and
Parameters Extraction using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)
Somesh Kumar, Sudha Kumari
82
Abstract With the demand of 3G wireless network access is increasing, high performance
Wide Band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) transceivers are needed. Low Noise
Amplifier (LNA) is the key component of WCDMA transceivers. In this paper, we designed
the various configurations of LNA (Single-ended LNA, Differential LNA, Current-reuse
LNA) at 180nm technology and compared their performance metrics. The LNA is designed
for low power, high gain applications and it provides a series of good performance in Noise
Figure (NF), Linearity, Power consumption and Figure of merit (FOM). Our analysis shows
that Current-reuse LNA (CRLNA) achieve the best gain and FOM among all the other
configurations. The FOM of CRLNA is 1.5507GHz/mW which is higher than others LNA
configurations. Further, we proposed a novel endeavor in the form of an Artificial Neural
Network (ANN) model which estimates different amplifier parameters based upon the
simulated results, thereby, providing an alternative to the popular simulation tools which are
based on complex analytical and mathematical models and are time consuming.

Inertia emulation based sliding mode control of VSC HVDC system for
transmission of power from onshore wind farms to AC grids
Kaveri Mahapatra, P. K. Dash
Abstract This paper proposes a novel control method for controlling voltage source
converter (VSC) based high voltage direct current (HVDC) converters present in a network
consisting of a Doubly Fed induction generator (DFIG) - wind farm (WF) connected to
infinite bus via an HVDC line and a parallel tie line. A new idea has been presented where
inertia emulation capability of capacitors present in HVDC network has been utilized with a
nonlinear control such as sliding mode control method. In this method the DC voltage
reference for the control is allowed to vary with the frequency deviations in the system for
emulating the inertia characteristics of the DC link capacitance and thus controlling the
power oscillations. The results of the proposed method are then compared with that of
conventional PI control. The simulations results obtained in MATLAB proved the
effectiveness in stabilizing the oscillations in case of various transient events and wind
power penetration levels.
