Difference between BBU+RRU and General Node B

A distributed base station consists of two separately-developed,

mutually-independent
mutually
independent parts. It uses optical fibers instead of
many radio frequency cables to reduce feeders and save costs
significantly. This results in decreased project costs, improved
networking flexibility

BBU+RRU - A More Effective Way to Deal with

Equipment Room Shortage
Setup Method
Use the BBUB + RRU networking mode;
Place the baseband pool equipment in the 19"
rack, or mount it on the wall in the existing
equipment room;
Lay the antenna feeder plane optical fiber from
the baseband pool equipment room to the planned
3G site;

No need for new transmission networks.

It effectively solves the problem of equipment room shortage

shortage.

BBU+RRU Base Station Solves Feeder

Overlength Problem

Signal loss in feeders will result in degraded coverage performance.

The 2G Hz radio frequency
q
y signal
g
travels in feeders at a loss of
7dB/100m, and 900M Hz 4dB/100m.
Generally, the feeder length of 3G sites is 50 meters, with a signal
loss of about 4dB.
RRU makes RF be possibly closest to the antenna to minimize the
signal loss in feeders.
By using BBU+RRU, signal loss in feeders can be reduced to less
than 1dB.

Saves space
Saves transmission resources
Reduces feeder loss

Distributed BTS
Highly improved system coverage
RF

The feeder loss reduces system coverage.

RRU

The
Th gain

d iis 4 dB
dB.
Similar to antennas, the use of RRUs reduces feeder loss.
Gain loss of 1 dB is reduced when B8200+RRU
combination is used.

Optical cable

ZXWR B8200

Reducing every 3 dB gain loss on the uplink can improve 48% system coverage rate and
save 12% NodeB resources.
