COMMERCIAL ELECTRIC SERVICE

AVAILABILITY:
Throughout the City's service area from existing lines of adequate capacity.
APPLICABILITY:
To all electric service of one standard voltage required on the customer's premises, delivered at one point and
metered at or compensated to that voltage. Customers with a demand in excess of 5000 KW may require
additional generation and/or facilities charges as determined by the City.
TYPE OF SERVICE:
Single or three phase, 60 hertz, at a standard voltage
MONTHLY RATE - Energy Charge Including Demand Charge:

FUEL ADJUSTMENT:
The amount calculated at the above rate will be increased under the provisions of the City's effective Fuel
Adjustment.
DETERMINATION OF BILLING DEMAND:
The Billing Demand shall be based on the highest 30-minute KW measurement during the current month and the
preceding eleven (11) months.
For the billing months of June through September, the Billing Demand shall be the greatest of:
(1) The current actual demand, or,

(2) Ninety-Five percent (95%) of the highest actual demand occurring in any previous applicable summer month
(June through September), or,
(3) Sixty percent (60%) of the highest actual demand occurring in any previous applicable winter month.
For the billing months of October through May, the Billing Demand shall be the greater of:
(1) Ninety-five percent (95%) of the highest summer month (June through September), or,
(2) Sixty percent (60%) of the highest winter month (October through May, including the current month.
LEVELIZED BILLING OPTION:
Commercial customers with a good credit history and expected monthly billings of less than or equal to $5000 may
be offered the option of levelized billing. Signup will be limited to the months of September through May unless
otherwise approved by the City. Details of this billing option are available from the City's Customer Service Division.
ROUND-UP
Customers that do not notify the City of their desire to opt-out will have the total of their utility charges rounded up to
the next whole dollar. The proceeds of this round-up will be used to assist low income customers pay their utility
bills or as otherwise directed by the LaGrange City Council.
OFF PEAK DEMAND:
For customers that have a demonstrated off-peak demand that is significantly higher in the opinion of the city than
their on-peak demand, the billing demand calculated under this rate shall be modified using a mutually agreeable
method negotiated between the customer and the City.
CONTINUITY OF SERVICE
The City does not guarantee an uninterrupted or undisturbed supply of electric service. The City will not be
responsible for any loss or damage resulting from the interruption or disturbance of service for any cause other an
gross negligence of the City. The City will not be liable for any loss of profits or other consequential damages
resulting from the use of service or any interruption or disturbance of service. The City shall not in any way be
responsible for the transmission, use, or control of electrical energy beyond the point of connection to the customers
premises.
