Download, Install, License, and Update AutoPIPE Vessel

Log onto the Bentley Web Site
Open internet explorer web site http://selectservices.bentley.com/en-US/
1. Select Software Downloads

2. Log into web site.

If you do not have a current log, in please contact your local Bentley site administrator who
can assist you with the correct information and permissions.

Download AutoPIPE Vessel

1. In the Search By: area, Select radio button next to Product, and select AutoPIPE Products
from drop down list

2. In the Filter By area, Files Posted within last, change from 6 months to ALL.
3. Press the Search button at the bottom of the web site
4. Select the version of AutoPIPE Vessel to download.
Place a check in the box next to the name and confirm that any dependencies have also
been selected (Bentley IEG).
Note: The following screen shot may show different versions then currently available, but the
steps to download are the same. Select a version to download. If you do not see check box
next to the applications, you do not have download rights. Contact Bentley BRC or your
account manager to discuss your options.

Note: Far right column notifies you of the OS for which the application is certified on. Installing
the application on any other OS will be at your own risk and will not be supported
5. Scroll to the bottom of the web page, press Continue button located in the bottom right
corner.
6. Select Delivery method, Default Download, you can chose Download or Burn CD (an official
CD will be mailed).
Press Continue button

7. Download Procedure
Read the Legal Terms of Use statement. If you agree, press the Accept button. Then
press the Advanced Download Manager button. Provide pathname to download the file
to and finally press the Start Download button.
Note: Sometimes users are unable to download software from Bentley SELECTservices
website by clicking on the link Download. Here are the steps which should help:
1. Turn off a pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer by going to Tools -> Pop-up Blocker ->
Turn Off Pop-up Blocker
2. Add www.bentley.com to Trusted Sites in IE by going to Tools -> Internet Options ->
Security -> Trusted Sites -> Sites
3. Change a security level for this webpage to Low in IE by going to Tools -> Internet
Options -> Security -> Trusted Sites -> Custom level and change drop down list to
Low.
8. Burn CD Procedure
Select the Continue button, provide shipping information, and press the Complete
button.
Other applications required to complete an installation:
1. Select Server V8 XM
2. Bentley IEG (only required for XM licensed applications that do not support trust licensing)

Download AutoPIPE Vessel Updates

AutoPIPE Vessel updates are created as needed. Notification of these updates are included in a
Bentley Press release or Newsletter which is sent to those who have signed up to receive Select
Newstream for Plant products.
To subscribe / unsubscribe to Newstreams,
1. Visit https://login.bentley.com/personalinfo/index.cfm
2. Log onto the web site.
3. Click on Tell us more about you, link near the bottom of the page.

4. Select the Newsletters Tab at the top of the page

Place a check in the box next to NewsStream for Plant, NewsStream for Building and
Press Releases
5. Press Submit button.

Otherwise, it is the end users responsibility to periodically check the following location for
product updates
Use the instructions above to log on the Bentley web site and navigate to the Support Download web
page.
1.In the Search By area, Select radio button next to Product, and select AutoPIPE Products
from drop down list

2. In the Filter By section, change "Download Category" to "Enhancements and Updates", and
Files Posted within last to ALL
3. Press the Search button at the bottom of the web site
4. Place a check in the box next to the name and confirm that any dependencies have also been
selected.
5. Press Continue button
6. Select Delivery method, Default Download, you can chose Down load or Burn CD (an official
CD will be mailed).
Press Continue button

Install AutoPIPE Vessel V8i 9.3.x.x

Note: For those installing the application on Win 7 please see item #4 in this section below before
continuing,
1. This procedure assumes that Select Server XM has been install and configured, If not please
contact the license group to assist you.
2. Must log onto users computer with full Administration rights.
3. Install AutoPIPE Vessel V8i while accepting all the default settings.
a. Prefer that the application is not installed over a network connection; suggest that the
EXE file is on the users system before starting the installation.
NOTE: If you have already installed AutoPIPE Vessel, completely uninstall all previous versions
before proceeding.
b. Navigate to the EXE file download using the procedure above.
c. Double click on it to start the installation process.

If not already installed:

Ultimately the following is displayed:

d. Finished, with AutoPIPE Vessel install, continue with next section before starting the
application.

Install AutoPIPE Vessel updates

If updates were available, install AutoPIPE Vessel updates using the procedure located in the
update files. Please continue with next section before starting the application.
a. After installation, the computer should be rebooted.

Set-up License
There are two methods for License activation: automatically with the Product Activation Wizard, or
manually using License Management Tool.

Method #1: Automatically with the Product Activation Wizard

The following screen is automatically displayed after AutoPIPE Vessel is installed:
a. Choose the correct Setting and press Next

b. Enter the correct Site Activation Key and press the Test Connection button, the Sever
and Activation key should be verified, before continuing.

c. Select a country and Press the Next button

d. Verify the settings are correct and press the Finish Button:

e. If all they settings were correct the following is displayed:

Method #2: Manually using License Management Tool (LMT)

a. The following screen is automatically displayed after AutoPIPE Vessel is installed:
Press the Cancel button.

b. Open License Management Tool:

Select the Start Button> Program> Bentley Engineering> AutoPIPE Vessel > License
Management Tool.

c. After the application is opened, select Tools> Options> enter the correct Server Name and
Site Activation Key, then press the Test Connection button, the Sever and Activation
key should be verified, before continuing.

d. Verify AutoPIPE Vessel is listed and 1 license is available.

Start the Program - AutoPIPE Vessel

Start the program by selecting the desktop Icon:

OR,
Select the Start Button> Program> Bentley Engineering> AutoPIPE Vessel > AutoPIPE
Vessel.

If everything was correctly installed and licensed the following should be displayed, select a
valid license option and press OK button to use the program:

Troubleshooting:
1. If revert to demo,
a. Verify license is correctly displayed in LMT.
Note, in LMT press F5 to refresh the listing.
b. Verify the internet connection and server connection.
c. Verify Select Server XM Dashboard Settings (i.e. Application restrictions, user
restrictions, etc...) http://selectserver.bentley.com/bss/admin/
2. The following is displayed:

Answer: The program is in Demo Mode, correctly license the application as described above.
