Install Guide

Read this first.

the installation location that must be met in order to enable use
of this machine.

Installation Requirement
Install in a quiet, stable location offering good operating conditions. An unsuitable location can
cause accident, fire, faulty operation, or breakdown.
Install the machine in a location that is level, stable, and able to bear the weight of the
machine.
The total weight of the machine may reach 400kg or more. Installation in an unsuitable location
may cause a major accident, including tip over, fall, or collapse.
Install in a clean, brightly lit location.
Conduct operations in a clean, brightly lit location. Working in a location that is dark or cluttered
may lead to an accident, such as becoming caught in the machine as the result of an inadvertent
stumble.
Position so that the power plug is within immediate reach at all times.
This is to enable quick disconnection of the power plug in the event of an emergency. Install the
machine next to an electrical outlet. Also, provide enough empty space to allow immediate
access to the electrical outlet.
Ensure adequate ventilation for the work area.
Failing to perform ventilation may result in a health hazard or danger of combustion due to ink
fumes.
Temperature and Humidity
Keep the room temperature between 20-30C, hundity 40-60%. Air conditioner and humidifier
may be required. Keep a distance from strong radiation field. The floor must be level.
Maintain the specified temperature and humidity even when the machine is not in use. If
temperatures are too high or too low, it may cause malfunction.
Electrical requirement
Electrical requirement writes on a metal tag on the back of the printer. Find it to confirm if your
printer supports 220V or 110V. A transformer is needed if your country standard is different.
The printer must be well grounded.
UPS and voltage stabilizer is highly recommended.
Computer requirement
Basic requirement:
CPU: 2.5 GHz or higher
Memory: 2GB or higher
Hard Disk: 200GB or higher
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP / Windows 7 Ultimate Edition / Windows 10
Recommendatory requirement:
CPU: 3.5 GHz or higher
Memory: 4GB or higher
Hard Disk: 500GB or higher (NTFS format)
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
NOTICE: Suggest user format your hard disk into 2 partitions (NTFS). The first partition is used
for installing OS and other software, the second partition is used to save pictures and work files.

1. Assemble Mechanical Part

1.1 : Assemble the Stand - Mount the Machine

1.2 : Install the Media Feeder and Media Take Up

* You may need to install the media reflector and make it faces towards the detector on stand 1.
* In some models, media reflector is replaced with a installed infrared detector.
* Media take up is optional part.

* Be sure to insert the drain pipes into the drain bottle afterward.

1.5 : Install Upper Part of the Printer

Lift the upper part with forklift or 4 men, and fix it onto the stands.
* Be sure to insert the jointing rubber into the hole on top of the stands.

1.6 : Remove Packing Material

Remove the fixation rubber located on the left side of the carriage. Its used to fix the carriage
during shipping.
Remove the packing bags of the dampers.

2. Turn On the Printer for the First Time Check

After the stand assembling is completed, plug the power cables and turn on the printer.
Remember to turn on both main power switch and the emergency switch.
Normal start up action should be : The carriage moves out then goes back to home position, in
the mean time, the capping station goes down then goes up slightly leaving the printhead
uncapped.
This startup check can reduce the risk of a possible short circuit before installing the printhead.
Turn off the printer afterward.

3. Install Media
Step 1 : Install the media holder and fit on the media tube.
Step 2 : Pass the leading edge of the media through the pinch rollers and pull out the media
over the platen.
(Be sure the media is put straight and taut.)
Step 3 : Lower the loading level, then secure the media holder by tightening the securing
screws slightly.
(Be sure both edges of the media are not covered by the pinch rollers.)
Step 4 : Move the media clamps onto both edges of the media.
(Be sure only around 5mm of each edge is covered by the media clamp.)
Step 5 : Hang down the paper to block the media sensor and reflector.
(This can be done manually, or turn on the media feeding motor to rotate the paper tube
forward.)

Heavy Roll : Simply put the media tube onto both media rollers, also need to hang down the
paper to block the media sensor and reflector. Its better to put an empty hard paper tube to
make paper feeding smooth.

4. Install Printhead and Related Part

4.1 : Install Printhead
Step 1 : Connect flat cables onto the printhead.
* Be sure the power is off.
* Be sure the text sides of cables are put back to back. (outwards)
* Be sure your hand is dry, no ink / liquid gets onto the cables.
* Be sure the contact pins are well touched and not bent.

Step 2 : Fix the printhead onto the carriage plate by fasten 3 screws.

4.2 : Fill Ink Cartridges

Use funnel to fill ink into cartridges. Remember to seal them afterwards.

4.3 : Install Damper and Fixator

Fix the damper onto the printhead, with gentle strength.
* the printhead connector for damper is actually fragile, not as strong as it looks.

5. Install USB Driver and PrintConsole

USB Driver and PrintConsole install program can be found in the USB flash drive.
Install the USB driver according to your operation system (32bit / 64bit).

Install the PrintConsole according to your printer model. Then launch the PrintConsole and select
the configuration file.
: SJ-740, SJ-1260, ES-740

Note : If you use single head on a two head model, you should still select the PrintConsole for Dual
Head Model, but select a different configuration file.

Connect the green USB Dongle. It is required for both PrintConsole and UltraPrint.

Turn on the printer and restart PrintConsole, left bottom corner turns green and says
Printer Connected. Now the printer is ready to serve.

6. Fill Ink
Click Settings, select Heads for two heads, select Head1 for single head, then click Fill Ink button.
