The Yellow Vision MISSION

JAUNDICE
Does anybody to see the
world with yellow vision?
Nobody would ever like to
have such kind of a feeling as
the people suffering from
jaundice do. As per a saying,
jaundice is referred to as a
disease in which yellow
patches have been observed along with the whitening of the
eyes. Jaundice is also known as Icterus, which is caused by
abnormal blood pressure.
According to the medical& healthcare analysis , Jaundice is a
sign of an underlying disease but not a disease. Jaundice is
mainly considerable when the level of Bilirubin in the blood
exceeds the range of 2.5 3mg/dl (milligrams per deciliter). The
yellowness moves to other body fluids and also to the other
tissues of the body.
There are many Online Medical counsellor who provides the

best medical treatment. It has also listed out some of best

treatment plans. Hair loss is caused by the impaired liver
function. In fact, jaundice and hair loss both are caused by
malfunction of the liver.
Jaundice in Adults
Many medical conditions are seen in adults
which is the main cause of jaundice that
affects the metabolism. Daily breakdown
and destruction of red blood cells produces
Bilirubin, which releases haemoglobin in
the bloodstream.

Some of the bilirubin is excreted in the faeces from the

intestine, while some of the bilirubin is metabolized by the
intestinal bacteria, which gets excreted through the urine.
Excretion of bilirubin or dysfunction of normal metabolism
causes jaundice, this dysfunction or disruption in metabolism
can occur at various stages, which identifies different causes of
jaundice.
The causes of yellow colour in jaundice:In the blood stream there are millions of Red Blood Cells
(RBCs). The life span of each blood cell is about 120 days and
the blood cells break down into various chemical wastes.
All the red blood cells
grow up and become
again in order to
replace the old one.
broken blood cells
release the chemicalbilirubin which then
enters the bloodstream.

The

Bilirubin is taken up by
the
liver, as the blood flows through it. To make the bilirubin water
soluble, the structure is slightly altered, and this is called as
conjugated bilirubin.
Risk factors:An individual may be at a higher risk of suffering from jaundice
if he/she has a family history of diseases. For example people
suffering from thalassemia are more at risk of developing
jaundice. People consuming alcohol everyday are also at a
greater risk of developing alcoholic hepatitis which eventually
leads to jaundice.
Diagnosing Jaundice:-

The cause is determined by a

comprehensive medical evaluation by a
physician. Firstly the consultant will note
down the detailed history of the illness.
Patient should go for a blood test, in
which special attention will be given to
the liver function tests such as CBC.
As per the blood test results further steps
might be taken into account to diagnose
the disease.
Imaging studies are also performed in order to evaluate the
possibilities of more abnormalities, mainly of liver, including
Ultra sound, CT (computerized tomography) Scan, MRI
(magnetic resonance imaging). Diagnosis may also include
Endoscopic.
Treatment:Depending on the cause of jaundice, its treatment would be
provided. Once the actual cause of jaundice is known, proper
treatment will be allotted to the patient. Different kind of
patients requires different medical attention. Several patients
may need to be hospitalized while others may take their
treatment at home if the cause is not a significant one.
The treatment consists of extra supportive care. If there are
cases of mild viral hepatitis then the patient can be kept at
home under a strong watchful eye.
Various treatments can be given to the patient causing
jaundice, such as steroids in the treatment of autoimmune
disorders. Patients suffering from cirrhosis require to be treated
with Lactulose.Patients with bleeding disorder would require
blood transfusions.
A person suffering from cancer requires special consultation
with the Oncologist and treatment related to them will vary
depending upon the stages of cancer he/she is suffering from.

Complications:Many of them dont suffer from long term disorder and have
the tendency to recover fully. While others get the fear of life,
suffering just once at a time, they pretend it to be life
threatening disorder.
Can Jaundice be prevented?
Jaundice can be prevented up to a certain condition, whereas,
other is less preventable. Certain careful measures need to be
taken in order to control its development. Contaminated food
products or contaminated water should be avoided; it
decreases the risk of developing hepatitis A.
While travelling to the areas where malaria is endemic, it is
recommended to take necessary in order to avoid flu and fever.
Alcohol intake should be reduced so that the alcohol hepatitis is
not produced in the body. Smoking should be avoided as it has
more risk of developing pancreatic cancer.
