ABSTRACT
The CuInS2 (CIS) spherical particles were synthesized by the solvothermal method. The CuInS2 have high micro
crystalline domains of the CIS type phase at high temperatures (180C) and long times (6h). In the solvothermal
process, the crystallinity increases vs. a decrease of the spherical shape, resulting in a cluster of smaller
crystalline particles. The UV-visible spectrophotometry and electric characterization show semiconductors
properties in these materials with band gap in the order of 1.4 eV. Spanish title: Sntesis y caracterizacin de CuInS2 (tipo

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in the physico-chemical properties of soils along an altitudinal
transect (4187- 3825 m) in the town of Lluto, La Paz, Bolivia, as well as the seasonal variations in two annual
cycles (dry and wet seasons). The study area was selected for development in the place of two plant species with
potential as Phytotherapic and Cosmeceutic, Baccharis latifolia and B. papillosa, whose production has scientific
and economic interest. The results show that some physicochemical properties of soils have significant
correlation with altitude, among these, the limo % ( = 0.79),% clay ( = -0.74), pH ( = -0.67), conductivity (S
/ cm) ( = -0.75),% organic carbon ( = 0.61), % total nitrogen ( = 0.80), available phosphorus (ppm) ( = 0.57), sodium ( = -0.69) and exchangeable magnesium ( = -0.37) (cmol/kg). Seasonal differences did not affect
the physicochemical properties of the soils, only the soil moisture (%) showed significant differences, presenting
higher humidity in the months corresponding to the rainy season. Comparing two sites with different slope
exposure (southeast and southwest), we showed the existence of significant differences in organic carbon content
(%), total nitrogen (%), exchangeable calcium and magnesium (cmol/kg), and these (except magnesium) were
higher on the hillside with southeast exposure. Spanish title: Propiedades fidicoqumicas y variacin estacional de los suelos, en

ABSTRACT
This is the seventh chapter in the series published by the same authors: The Organic Chemistry Notebook Series,
a Didactical Approach.
The aim of this series of studies is to help students to have a graphical view of organic synthesis reactions of
diverse nature. Here we describe the mechanistic views of the synthesis of alkenes from ketones via
arylsulphonylhydrazones. These methods employ aliphatic and alicyclic ketones with one -hydrogen, that react
along with toluene-p-sulphonylhydrazones and two equivalents of an alkyl-lithium or lithium diisopropylamide.
The mechanism views for the transformation of pinacolone into 3,3-dimethyl-1-butene are proposed. The
formation of 3-phenylpropene using phenylacetone is explained step by step. An approach is made on the
obtaining of alkenes from ketones using derived enol ethers or esters by means of reductive excision or by means
of coupling with organocuprates. We have used various series of reactions reviewed by W. Carruthers in Some
modern methods of organic synthesis, and we have proposed didactical and mechanistic views for them. This
theme is included in the chapter Formation of carbon-carbon double bonds in the text mentioned above. Spanish

ABSTRACT
Laetiporus sp. a mushroom growing on species of Eucalyptus sp in Piribebuy city, Cordillera department,
Paraguay, was submitted to extraction and crystallization procedures to obtain the main secondary metabolite,
ergosterol. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on ergosterol in this genus. The structural
characterization was achieved by means of NMR techniques, namely 1H, 13C, COSY H-H, HMQC and HMBC.
