The Transit
Of Alpha Delta Zeta
We find ourselves midway through another spring semester here at Alpha-Delta Zeta chapter of Lambda Chi
Alpha, and we continue to take pride in the traditions of this house. Through the support of our alumni, current members
are continuously inspired towards improving this great institution that has given us all so much. Alpha-Delta Zeta's
membership, alumni support and moral is as high as ever and, like our symbol the crescent, seems to grow more all the
time. I truly believe that the current state of this house would not have been possible without the support and hard work of
our alumni. The three and a half years that I have been fortunate enough to be a member of Lambda Chi Alpha has taught
me that people here really do become brothers for life, not just four years.
After experiencing the Ozark Conclave in Oklahoma City, we look forward to our 53 rd General Assembly in
Phoenix this summer. Alpha-Delta will be sending as many representatives as possible to make sure that our Zeta's voice is
heard. At the General Assembly, Lambda Chi Alpha members from around the country will be voting on new Grand High
Zeta officers and on tabled changes to the Constitution.
This semester we have seen many of our new members shouldering the responsibility of officer positions. These
members show excellent leadership potential, and I am very excited to see them putting it to good use. They have the
capability to build upon the successes and new ideas of last year while keeping an open mind for positive changes. Along
with new Zeta officers, we also elected a new housing core president, Len Kierberg, who has already implemented actions
such as chapter retreats, call-a-thons and alumni work days. Alpha-Delta Zeta is sure to have another great semester and
looks forward to seeing as many brothers as possible during the St. Pat's festivities from March 11th through the 13th.
Saturday the 13th will feature a housing corporation meeting, followed by all day festivities and a live band in the evening.
In closing, I would like to share a passing thought. When I joined Lambda Chi Alpha, I felt proud to be a part of
something larger than myself. As years have passed and my involvement in this fraternity has grown, I realized that Alpha-
Delta has been blessed by the great men that have worked hard to get it to its current state of success. The Lambda Chi
Alpha Fraternity stands second to none and its potential is limited only by ourselves. Let us make sure that we are always
open-minded, caring, compassionate, and proactive in making decisions that affect our fraternity. In this way, we can
provide the future generations of Lambda Chi Alpha the same opportunities that those great men gave us on April 21 st,
1917.

Brothers,
It is both a privilege and an honor to have been elected President of the ADZ
House Corporation for 2009-10 and I share the responsibility with the other
Officers and the Board of Directors. With the financial help of all the
alumni and the support of the chapter we will strive to maintain ADZ as the
best fraternity on campus. But talk is easy; the proof comes in achieving
excellence in all areas of brotherhood, activities, operations and condition
of the chapter house.
By the time this issue of THE TRANSIT reaches you we will have 13 new
initiate brothers to welcome into the full bonds of the brotherhood. The
fall associate class being initiated is young, enthusiastic, and smart
having achieved an average GPA of 2.83 even with two associates not making
grades. This was the highest associate average since 2002.
Alpha Delta started the semester with a Strategic Planning Retreat on
Saturday January 9, 2010 and followed up with an officer goal setting
session 5 days later. The new campus Greek Plan for Success was also
discussed and ADZ should score high in 4 out of 5 standards in the plan.
For more information see the Feb. 2010 issue of the House Corporation UPDATE
newsletter.
We are bringing back the Phone-a-thon on Saturday March 6 from 10am to 1pm
to raise funds needed for improvements at the chapter house so please be
generous when chapter members call. Also an Alumni/Chapter workday will be
held on Saturday April 24 starting at 9am at the Chapter House.
At the 2009 Homecoming board meeting the House Corporation created three new
committees; Newsletter, Rush and Volunteer Giving along with Scholarship to
create additional ways for alumni to be involved. If you want to serve on
any of the committees, please contact me at lkirberg@accessus.net or
