112" plastic ball
Rust-proof straight pins
Plastic food wrap

No. 8 steel hook
BASIC STITCHES:
Ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, tr, dtr.
SPECIAL STITCH:
For triple treble crochet (ttr), yo 4
times, insert hook in next st,
yo, pull through st, (yo, pull
through 2 lps on hook) 5 times.
BALL SIDE (make 2)
Rnd 1: Ch 4, sl st in first ch to form
ring; for Petals, (3 dc, sl st) 4 times
in ring, do not join rnds. (4 Petals
made)
Rnd 2: Working behind Petals, (ch 7,
sl st in next sl st) around. (4 ch sps)
Rnd 3: (Ch 4, sl st in next ch sp, ch 4,
sl st in next sl st) 4 times. (8 ch sps)
Rnd 4: Sl st in first ch sp, (ch 4, sl st
in next ch sp) 7 times, ch 2, join
with hdc in first sl st (last ch sp
made).
Rnd 5: (Ch 4, sl st in next ch sp) 7
times, ch 2, hdc in last ch sp (last
ch sp made).

FINISHING
1: Dampen one Ball Side with fabric
stiffener. Place over 112" diameter
plastic ball covered with plastic
wrap and shape. Let dry com
pletely, then remove from plastic
ball. Repeat with other Ball Side.
2: For Sachet, hem edges on white
satin fabric. Place potpourri, fiber
fill or cotton balls covered with
bath powder in center of fabric;
fold edges over to form a small
ball. Tie 18" ribbon around fabric
ball or tack to secure.
3: Matching sts, sew last rnd of Ball
Sides together with Sachet be
tween.
4: Dampen all Snowflake Sides with
starching solution.
5: Fold one Snowflake Side in half
with three points on each side,
placing plastic wrap between;
place on a flat surface covered
with plastic wrap pinning in place
with rust-proof pins. Let dry com
pletely, then remove pins. Repeat
with remaining Snowflake Sides.
6: Tack Snowflakes Sides together at
fold with Sachet between.
7: Decorate as desired with pearl
beads.
8: For hanger, tie 116" ribbon to top
of Snowflake.
Snowflake #2
FINISHED SIZE:
5" across 7" tall.
