Vishkumbha means a jar of poison. Poison can be used as an antidote and for wrong purposes - it can make a person bitter so one has to be aware of this tendency and remember to keep the bitterness under control. If frustrations and bitterness are allowed to fester they will bring uncertainty. This yoga also gives wealth and the will to succeed, competitiveness, and happiness from spouse and family. These people like to travel and are very conscious of their physical beauty but can pay too much attention to outer looks rather than the inner person.
8. PUSHYA: The Star of Nourishment
Pushya is considered to be the most auspicious of the twenty-seven lunar mansions. The symbols for this asterism are a lotus, circle, arrow and the udder of the sacred cow. The ancient name of Pushya in the Rig Veda was Tishya, the Celestial Archer. It has a Deva temperament with the primary motivation of Dharma, or right action. The ruling planet is Shani, or Saturn, which grounds the energy of this powerful Nakshatra. Pushya is ruled by Brihaspati, the God of Divine Wisdom. 22. SHRAVAN: The Star of Learning
Shravan translates as the hearing, with its primary symbol being an ear. It is a Deva, or Godly Nakshatra that has the capacity to hear the astral sounds of Krishnas flute, and the celestial bells or the cosmic OM. The natives of this asterism usually have brilliant minds and the capacity to study other cultures and spiritual dimensions. Material success is a result of the primary motivation of this asterism being Artha or wealth. Shravana is ruled by Vishnu, the Pervador. Its power is that of connection (Samhanana Shakti). Its basis above is seeking. Its basis below are the paths. The result of these three is the connection of all things together. 10. GANDA (Scorpio 03 20 to 16 40)
Ganda means a knot. It represents a Karmic knot in the nature of the individual that needs spiritual understanding to unravel. It is not as difficult as the Atiganda Yoga, but it gives discontentment. It obstructs on the subtle psychological level and sometimes does not allow these people to develop spiritually. This Yoga can spoil the nature and character if allowed to evolve. Hot temper, nastiness, deception and harshness are some of the negative traits that can develop. Material greed can be one of the spiritual knots Ganda needs to unravel. Ganda Yoga people are better off focusing on their positive forces like being friendly, talkative, truthful, serious, strong, eloquent and lucky. They must feel blessed by what they achieve rather than feel unhappy about what they don't.
17. ANURADHA: The Star of Success
Anuradha is symbolized by a lotus flower, reflecting the ability to blossom in any life situation. The primary deity is Mitra, the God of Friendship and Partnership. Anuradha individuals have the great ability to gather people together for social and spiritual activities. Anuradha has a Deva temperament with the primary motivation of Dharma or right action. The ruling planet is Shani or Saturn, which gives tenacity and discipline when needed. Anuradha is ruled by Mitra, the Divine Friend. It gives the power of worship (Radhana Shakti). Its basis above is ascension. Its basis below is descension. From these three honor and abundance is gained. Anuradha Nakshatra gives balance in relationship, both honoring others and seeking ourselves to be honorable, through which we acquire fame and recognition. Mitra indicates compassion, devotion and right relationship. Mitra desired, "May I be regarded as a friend in all the worlds". 4. ROHINI: The Star of Ascent
The symbols of this asterism are a chariot, a temple and a banyan tree. Rohini provides movement toward the divine as well as a place of worship. The sacred banyan tree is the home of the Goddess of the ancient Indus Valley civilization. It has a Manushya, or Human temperament, with a primary motivation of Moksha, or spiritual liberation. The divine Krishna is said to have had both his Moon and Ascendant in this lunar mansion. Rohini is ruled by Prajapati, the Creator. Its power is growth (Rohana Shakti). Its basis above is the plants and below is the waters. The result of these three is creation. Rohini Nakshatra allows for growth and creation on all levels, bestowing great fertility. 19. PARIGHA (Pisces 03 20 to 16 40)
Parigha means a bar, a barrier or a hindrance. It also means a cloud crossing the Sun, indicating sudden shadows in an otherwise bright life. Again this malefic yoga shows the individual's potential to hinder or block themselves. These people are strong, powerful, compassionate, brave, generous and well spoken, able to achieve what they sent their mind to, yet their weakness of being economical with the truth and not caring about keeping good company, together with anger and aggression, can be their hindrance, stopping them benefiting from their good qualities.
