Flashcards (clothes);

Warming-up T-Ps, Whole Class 5
Aim: to prepare for the lesson;
Procedure:
T greets Ps and asks them How are you?
Then, Ps do some gymnastics by responding to their Ts commands (stand up, sit down,
clap your hands, jump, turn around etc);
Activity 1 Listening Speaking T-Ps, Whole Class 5
Aim: to learn the new vocabulary
Procedure:
T tells Ps that they are going to learn some words referring to clothes and she writes the
title on the blackboard;
Then, T plays the CD-player and Ps repeat each word as they hear them; in the meantime
T shows the correspondent flashcard for each word;
When finished, T uses the same flashcards and asks Ps to repeat the words again making
sure they pronounce the words correctly;
Activity 2 Speaking Writing T-Ps, Whole Class, Individual 15
Aim: to practice the new vocabulary
Procedure:
T uses funny games to get Ps repeat the new vocabulary;
At first, T puts the flashcards on the teaching desk and invites Ps to pick the right pictures
for the words she pronounces (for example, if T says the word skirt, a P should come and
pick the flashcard showing the skirt); Ps pick the right pictures and pronounce the words
themselves;
Then, T pins up the flashcards in different parts of the classroom and, as she says a
clothing item, Ps have to point to the right flashcard repeating the word at the same time;

Finally, T shows Ps the flashcards and asks them to say the words; as they pronounce the
clothing items, T writes them on the blackboard;
Ps write the words in their notebooks;
Activity 3: Speaking T-Ps, P-P 10
Aim: to communicate in English
Procedure:
Some Ps come in front of the classroom and T gives each of them a scrap of paper with a
word on it; T makes sure that Ps can read the words and that they know their meaning;
Then, T distributes in the classroom the flashcards and again makes sure that each P
knows the words on the flashcards;
Ps in front of the classroom have to ask questions in order to find their pair among the Ps
with flashcards (Whos got a skirt? And the P with the correspondent flashcard answers
I do and comes in front of the classroom)
Activity 4: Reading T-Ps, Individual 7
Aim: to practice reading; to revise colours;
Procedure:
T gives each P a worksheet;
With the Ts help, Ps read the sentences, join and colour the clothing item accordingly;
Activity 5: Singing T-Ps, Whole Class 5
Aim: to have fun
Procedure:
Ps listen to a song and with the Ts help try to sing it themselves;
In the last 3 of the lesson, T assigns homework and gives Ps smileys for their posters;
