The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary

education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS]) to provide
sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare
graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and
entrepreneurship. This program aims not only to produce better graduates but also to improve
the quality of life of the country as a whole.
The program is designed to enable graduates to join the work force right after high school, and
suitably prepare those who want to go on to higher education. It serves as a stepping stone to
make the learners competitive globally. It is a start for a brighter future, and one way to make a
living. All in all, the enhanced K-12 curriculum is designed to provide a holistic education for all.
In the implementation of the K to 12 curriculum, the Department of Education work hand in hand
for the incoming Senior High School years. Activities were conducted like symposium, meeting
etc. involving teachers, parents, local government units as well as students to promote SHS, to
develop their decision making skills and help students realizing the value of self awareness in
the process of choosing a Senior High School track.
The Lapuyan National High School is given the privileged to open Senior High School. But we only
offer limited tracks that the school may cater. This is due to lack of facilities.
