WHAT INDUSTRY SAY ABOUT FGFI 2014

I was very impressed with the overall
participation and the slick organisation
of the event. What worked for
me were the panel discussion-type
conversations they were very
engaging and useful.
Sanjiv Rajdan, GM- Pizza Hut

Immense opportunity to cross pollinate

across all food platforms
Riyaaz Amlani, MD,
Smoke House Grill and Mocha Caf

The session on e-commerce was a novel

addition to this year's FGFI and very
c o n t e m p o r a r y. W e s a w g o o d
contributions by a cross section of
speakers. I would look forward to more
such educative/informative sessions in
sync with contemporar y retail
developments in India.
Naresh Gupta, Country Manager,
India, Paramount Group

FGFI has been doing a great job in

bringing the Food & Grocery fraternity
of the country on a platform. I found the
sessions of a lot of interest, more to the
point, and useful. There was knowledge
and information all around in an
entertaining and relevant context.
Saikat Sarkar, Head Speciality Foods,
Spencer's

It always, it is great to be a part of such a

huge platform and share thoughts on
the industry.

and interactions.
Chef Sandeep Pande, Executive
Chef, Renaissance Convention Centre

A great venue for networking amongst

hospitality industry professionals. The
topics at the panel sessions in which I
participated were very relevant and
provided a platform for discussing
current challenges being faced in the
industry from different stakeholders'
perspectives.
Gauri Devidayal, The Table

As a first time exhibitor, we are extremely

satisfied with the kind of response,
enquiries and feedback we received
during the event. The best part is that the
venue was filled up with the Right People
- retailers, manufacturers, distributors.
The conference and masterclass sessions
were very enriching. We look forward to
being part of this event next year.
Sunil P Krishnan, GM - Marketing,
Double Horse

From a QSR/Restaurant perspective, it

would be great if at the next forum a few
sessions be organised for managers as it
would be good learning for them. And
another for students/young people who
can get an idea of opportunities for
entrepreneurship or as a career path in
the food industry.
Chetan Arora, Development Agent,
Subway

We are very happy with the results

achieved. The presence of key retailers
and importers and the absence of nonserious (general) visitors made our
participation very worthwhile. We look
forward to the next edition.
Sumit Saran, Director, The SCS Group

Super Show, very well organised.

Precise and very focused. Made great
contacts and business for future. The
award show was the jewel in the crown,
and a great fun night after a long day at
work. Keep up the great work and hope
to see you bigger and even better the
next year.
Chef Saby, Fabrica by Chef Saby

FGFI 2014 was indeed a leap ahead to

the previous year and a league different
compared to all alike in the industry. It is
a great platform to educate the industry
on your value proposition. India Gate
brown rice got an ideal launch platform
and we are willing to engage and
interact in newer ways in years to come
with our audiences.
Ayush Gupta, KRBL Limited

My compliments to Team Images

for organizing the FGFI in such a
professional manner. The sessions were
knowledgeable with insights into the
various aspects of the industry from the
veterans. The forum provided ample
networking opportunities with the
decision makers of the industry. Overall
a very pleasant experience and looking
forward to a lot more similar events in
the future.
Saurabh Nowal, Prakash Spices

A well-organised show with an exciting

assortment of food and drinks on
display. As a guest speaker at the Drinks
Theatre, I was glad to witness a special
focus on wine and luxury beverages.
Sonal Holland, Divisional Wine &
Beverage Specialist, ITC Ltd- Hotels
Division

For a start-up like us, the event was

really enriching with respect to building
network, thanks to the dinner and
cocktails organised at the end of Day 1.
It should be extended to a three-day
event. I recommend this event to
everyone who is working in or planning
to venture into Food Retail business.
Anurag Sureka, Sureka Udyog

The Forum was a remarkable and

energetic event as it was relevant for all
players, from small to large. Almost all
the significant players pan India were
represented by their top brass, who
were very generous in sharing their
thoughts and experiences. A brilliant
platform for networking, learning new
concepts, and getting a sense of where
this industry is headed.
Bhavin Shah, Director, Gokul Fresh

Every minute of my time at the Forum

was worth the learning, and building
contacts. The event has given lots of
insights into the industry, its
challenges, and possible solutions from
people who have been there and done
that. Congratulations to the team at
Images for executing a wonderful show.
Amit Sinha, VP, Business

expect desired results from this Forum.
So we are happy to announce our
participation for the next show.
Vipin Aggarwal, COO-India &
Antonio Pina Diaz S.L.

Our decision to participate in FGFI 2014

proved to be a very good decision. The
kind of footfalls our stall got was
precise, and it turned out to be an
excellent knowledge sharing platform.
We got an opportunity to meet the
who's who of the industry. I look
forward to be part of the next year's
Forum.
Paras Budhiraja, Director,
Paras Spices

FGFI was a brilliant event with a very

high quality of footfall at our pavilion.
We have received a very large number
of leads as a result of our participation.
Naema Al Bannai,
Dubai Exports

Interesting discussions at FGFI was the

USP of the forum. And the opportunity
to meet industry captains and share
thoughts with opinion leaders. The 2day event needs to be enhanced to 3 or
better 4 days. Also an effort needs to be
made to bring these gentlemen for a
walk over through the exhibition area as
well.

their purchase basket through a deep understanding of a shoppers' psyche, such as what brings her to the
store, the shopping mission, and the purchase process, and how to use simple techniques to drive shopper

chefs and restaurateurs shared innovations in trends, and what emerged was an insightful discussion.

The Debate on Private Labels: Learning from the past and the future: The session brought forth insights on the
pros and cons of private labels and how they affect both retailers and brands. Private brands have risen significantly
over the last few years. While many modern retailers have taken to private brands in a big way, the FMCG brands are of
the view that the manufacturers and retailers should stick to their core vocation of manufacturing and retailing
respectively. The debate gave insights into actual sales over the years, margins and profitability, growth expectations in
the next five years, and most of all how customer feedback has been for private brands.

Role of F&B Building: Hallmark of a Hotel: The session, moderated by Chef Saby, Fabrica by Chef Saby, discussed how a
restaurant can enhance the overall brand prestige of the property it is located in, and by itself become a brand of its own.
Panelists also discussed ho focus on food and beverage provides greater opportunities to enhance a property's overall
performance, which ultimately adds value to the asset as well as the real estate. So the food and beverage segment in the
overall hospitality sector is of prime importance in building brand equity, attracting footfalls and driving sales.
