The earth is the planet that we leave so, we study it in detail

Description of earth
Earths rotation around the sun
The earth with other planets revolve around the sun by the action of gravity.
The earth complete on revolution around the sun in 365.25 days.

The earth occupies the medium position in the solar system.

Concerning the volume,The earth occupies the fourth position .

Earths mass :
-

Earths mass is consider as the biggest mass in the inner planets of the solar
system.
Its mass is 5.9 x 1024 kg.

Why we live on the earth only ? why we live on the other planet such as mercury
or venus?
Answer :
The earth has some charcteristics that support the continuity of life :

First earth atmosphere :

Atmospheric air component
oxygen
nitrogen
Carbon dioxide
Water vapour
Other gases

ratio

78%
0.3%
Variable percentage
Very little percentage

Whats important of the earths atmosphere :

1. It consists of very important gases which are :
a. O2 > used in respiration process of living organisms and combustion
process of fuels
b. N2 : it reduces the effect of oxygen gas during burning process
c. CO2: used by green plants in photosynthesis process to form food for
other living organism
2. It participat in keeping the earths temperature suitable for the life
3. It contains( ozone layer ) which protects living organisms from the harmful

What will happen if the air contain only oxygen gas and is free of nitrogen gas ?
Answer :
The combustion process will be fast and happened without any control.

Second : earths hydrosphere :

Water is divided into :
1. Salty water : it represents 97% of the earths surface Example : ocean and
seas
2. Fresh water : it represents 3% of the water area on the earths surface
example : river , lakes , underground water

Third : the suitable temperature

The temperature is suitable for life of living organism due to the earths third
position according to its distance from the sun

Fourth : the gravity

If there is no gravity, whats happened ?
The earth has a fourth of the gravity that make the life possible through :
a. Steadfastness of the hydrosphere position on its surface
b. Keeping the earth surrounded by the atmosphere

Fifth the suitable air pressure :

The earth is characterized by the presence of suitable air pressure of about 76
